  1. WP RBI on a pitch inside and in the dirt. Men on 2nd and 3rd. 1-1 game. 1-2 count.
  2. Shuckers suddenl have the bases juiced and Mr. Bases Loaded at the dish (5-for-10 on the season) RF Garrett Spain. One out. Wood walked to load em up.
  3. Meccage completes six frames - last out on a check swing K on a really nice low off-speed pitch (I believe a slider). That's 4 K. I believe this is his longest outing? Too lazy to look. 😅
  4. The main thing? They are both incredible young talents. Incredible. Peña just line out hard to the deepest part of the CF warning track. Nearly had an XBH for an RBI.
  5. A Lara walk. A Zavi single up the middle and we have runners on the corners in the Shuckers 2nd. One down (Wilken K). Muddies flashing their D in the sixth! Rodriguez reached over the LF wall and snagged the first out (he's down that twice in two weeks - the last was in RF). Di Turi fields a ground ball deep down the 3B line. Throws a one-hopper up the line. Bitonti grabs it and makes the tag and holds on. Two down. Mound visit. Meccage at 71 pitches.
  6. Mitchell has now walked and singled to RF. On base both times early. Men on 1st and 2nd. Delgado had walked with two down.
  7. Ahead 1-2, with two down in the second, Hardin chooses to tip his cap to Luke Adams instead and hooks a slider way inside in the dirt hitting the lefty batter on the foot. Noice! Here's to you, Luke! He gets the pop up to Adams on the following pitch to end the inning. Ball don't lie! 1-0 Shuckers trail headed to their half of the 2nd.
  8. Three of Five outs for Hardin are via K. Gets a K swinging for the second out of his second inning - 94 mph high heater above the zone.
  9. Muddies fail to get the DP on a classic 6-4-3 ball - missed it by a step. Meccage sees the runner swipe 2B. He then gives up a double down the LF line - that's three XBH so far tonight (all doubles). 3-2 Mudcats. Runner on 2B. Nobody up in the bullpen. Meccage is only at 63 pitches. He is also going for his first Win of his professional career. AND, he completes the fifth - qualified for a possible 'W'. Weakly hit ground out down the 1B line. Meccage feels and calmly throws to 1B. Nice work! 3-2 on to the bottom of 5.
  10. Meccage grabs the elusive but highly sought after 'Pitch Clock Violation' standing strikeout. Noice! One down. Man on first in the top of the 5th. Lead-off five pitch walk.

(2) I don't know why RHP Tyler Woessner is on this list. He hasn't shown anything resembling remotely close to a Top 20 guy for over 1.5 years. He's not even remotely a Top 30 guy from my vantage point. (3) I think we are seeing 1B/DH Wes Clarke is back to fringe Top 30 guy. He is now only getting spot (and I do mean 'spot') playing time with the addition of savvy vet Bobby Dalbec and EMJ's return from injury. He is now playing essentially 2-to-3 games every six-game set. He continues to strike out at far too many pitches in the zone. Given his age, his limitations, and these flaws I just don't see him as anything other than a fringe 30 guy. (4) It's very early in the DSL but there are a couple of players who weren't the highly touted we'll want to keep an eye on. INF Leonard Rijo has really impressed early, OF Carlos Done (Injured last season - 2024 signee) has flashed, C Johanderson Tarazona has flashed (albeit in an absurdly small sample size, unfortunately). It's obviously way too early here. Big name signings have gotten off to very pedestrian starts (and that's being quite generous - without Fenelon's early HR you likely wouldn't even notice their collective outputs). And, we know not to over invest in DSL pitching thoughts. (4) I think if we're going to be putting these older names up here we should very much consider counter-balancing that narrative with some of the extremely young names impressive. I go immediately to the HS pitchers from last year's draft. RHP's Jayden Dubanewicz, Ethan Dorchies, and Hayden Robinson (now that he's back healthy). I would personally be more bullish about including these types of upside unknowns than several of the older names on this list. This may just be me, however. (5) To that same end, I'd be inclined to want to vote on INF Juan Ortuno, INF Jorge Quintana, OF Jorge Quintana over some of the older names on this list from a purely speculatively upside and youth proposition (6) INF/OF Luis Lameda, imho, is currently one of the most underrated versatile rapidly maturing and evolving stateside player in my viewing world. This young man moves with agility and athleticism. He is a smooth and graceful athlete. His bat is really intriguing - he has line drive pop in there. He has snuck up into my wheelhouse of players I love to watch perhaps faster than any other player in the stateside ranks in 2025. I have been absurdly pleasantly surprised by what I have seen. (7) OF Hedbert Perez is stating his case to potentially be in these names by season's end. His minor shoulder injury knocked him back some and he hasn't quite regained that heater he was on. BUT, he has made it known he may belong back in consideration for Top 20 votes here and there. (8) C Matt Wood is suddenly becoming a name to really pay attention to in Biloxi. Of all things! This could just be a hot stretch - we've seen it time and again in Minor League baseball. But, it could also be the start of something for him. I am merely saying we should continue monitoring his progress down in the Southern League. That is all I can think of in this rapid-fire 'over coffee' morning thoughts before I go tend to farm work. Happy voting!

  13. Boeve really has been hitting Knoxville. He gets another poke. Single to right CF. Man on 1B. One down.
  14. WHo other than Bobby Dalbec? He pulls a line drive double down the 3B line scoring Seigler. 2-0 Sounds. Man, you know this: I love me some Bobby Dalbec. Meccage ends the 4th with a K looking stranding a runner at 1B (lead-off bunt single down the 3B line).
  15. Another oppo poke for Quero. Runners on the corners. Seigler gets an RBI ground out (fielder's choice). 1-0 Sounds. Hardin K's the last batter. Should have had three K's zero runs that inning. Nice work. 21 pitches I believe?
  16. Oh, shocking, Hardin is squeezed on a gorgeous slider K looking. Ump blows the call. Next pitch, C Matt Wood sheepishly misses a ball low and away and it goes to the backstop. PB. Man on 3rd now. Man, the umps in this Shuckers series have missed a lot of strike calls. RBI single up the middle of the infield on the next pitch. Boooooo! 1-0 Shuckers trail.
  17. Bitonti is caught stealing at 2B. Really nice throw gets him a couple steps before the bag - perfect toss. Anderson grounds out to SS. 3-1 and we head to the 4th.
  18. A wild pick-off throw to 1B and Peña takes 2B. Bitonti smokes a single under the glove of the diving SS right up the middle. That ball was smoked and took a weird bounce off the mound. 3-1 Mudcats. Hardin walks his second batter on five pitches. Cutter seems to be dialed.
  19. Made swipes his second SB and has 31 on his season. Wheww. He stands on 3B. Hardin gets a swinging K on a filthy inside slider. Made scores on a walk WP. 2-1 Mudcats.
  20. And, RHP Tyson Hardin has begun his Double-A career with a low strike down the middle. Heater.
  21. No matter, Made scorches a double to the RF wall - well hit liner over the RF's head. That's a team leading 15th double. 1-1 game. He came into today tied for 4th in the League with 14 doubles. Tough read on that. It was a bit of a screamer. 37th RBI.
  22. Walther swings and misses - very overmatched that AB - on a slider down and away. Absolutely fooled. That's now 6 K for the Mudcats bats through 2 1/3 innings. Yowza.
  23. AND RF Reece Walling has the first Mudcats knock - a first pitch 108 mph line drive double to the left CF wall. Well, hey now! Well done Reece! Lead-off man aboard and standing on 2B in the Mudcats half of the 3rd.
  24. Two out walk. First pitch high heater for a ball and the runner takes second base. Meccage misses with a change up but he has to learn to use it more. Love to see it regardless of the result. Made chases down and makes an incredible running catch down the LF line somehow beating Rodriguez to the ball to end the threat. Whewww.
  25. Back from farm chores. Meccage leads off his third frame with another scorched double (high off the RF wall this time) to a lefty. He is sacrificed to 3rd (Columbia leads the Carolina League in Sacrifices - the Mudcats have zero). Sac fly to left CF and the Mudcats trail 1-0.
