  1. The walk was palatable - he threw two very very close heaters in that count called balls. In Double-A I've seen them both go for strikes.
  2. 2:56:17 RHP Tyler Bryant curve ball. My goodness! 85 mph kind of a slurve?!? He follows with a 96 mph heater at the knees. Goooood Lawwwwwwd.
  3. McWilliams escapes a men on 2nd and 3rd two out jam with a hard hit line out to 2B Raynel Delgado (who also snagged out one with a diving grab of a 106 mph liner up the middle - grab him a beer, Sam!). On to the bottom of the 7th. 3-2 Sounds.
  4. Old friend RHP Kevin Herget is on for the Stripers in the 7th. Man, he was fantastic for the Sounds last season and did quite well when called up for action with the Brewers. His change-up continues to be an absolutely filthy pitch.
  5. Do not sleep on Quintana. He has been red hot since his early struggles. You love to see it.
  6. More importantly, perhaps, the Mudcats gained a game on second place Lynchburg who lose @ Salem 8-3. Muddies open up a 4.0 G lead on the division. Crucial with the Muddies heading to the Hillcats park next week. Every game absolutely counts this late in the first half.
  7. Incredible outing in an incredible season. Just continues to impress. Every time he's faced adversity he's bounced back an even better pitcher. Just an absurdly impressive Double-A jump from Cornielle. @biedergb: I know you are reading these words fresh home from a long day at the hospital...
  8. BTW, that top of the 5th ended with a back pick pick-off CS maneuver from the Maciec Man. And then Zamora made a cross body heave web gem charging up play into shallow LF. Really sexy play.
  9. Whatever happens in this Sounds contest you have to tip your hat to the 'Maciec Man'. Just an incredible job to come in under these Woodruff early exit circumstance and just hit his stride. Highly impressive outing.
  10. Seigler credited with an error on a very sharply hit grounder right at him. They'll rule it an E5. That is Seigler's first error in his season. * I have gone back in time, btw. This error happens before the rally Sveumsy alludes to above. WE KEEP YOU ON YOURE TOES IN THE GAME THREAD. Can you handle this?!? 😜 *
  11. I see I am once again behind my mentor in @sveumrules. Meanwhile, a deep LF sac fly from Raynel Delgado has the Sounds back even 2-2. Spain hit an RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the 4th. Shuckers lead 1-0.
  12. Peña again. Whewwwww. An oppo triple deep into the RF corner. My goodness. That young man can just reach them and rip em. Amazing. It is a 10-0 Mudcats lead.
  13. Agent (Bjorn) Johnson is doing Agent Johnson things. Anderson helps him with a really nice grab headed toward the RF warning track. 6-0 Muddies headed to the bottom of the 7th.
  14. First throw from Quero to 2B is late and about 3' short up the 3B line. Yeah. Let's toss that up to early jitters. Yeah, that's it. 1:37:04 for those interested on replay.
  15. Yeah. Just really hoping and praying it was a massive stinger and nothing 'hairline' or the sorts. It was straight off that arm and bounced with a fury after the BAM. Just really really hoping and praying for him. That's a lonnnnng process to get to that part of his comeback. Brutally bad luck. Time to step away for a moment and do some farm animal chores and put some games on pause. Sighs.
  16. OH man. That appeared to smack him smack dab on the lower part of his upper right arm just above the elbow. My gods. Come on, man. Brutal.
  17. Hit 90 mph here in the 2nd. Just K'd McCann on a really nasty slider. 91 mph (see @wiguy94😅) gets a RF fly out to Dalbec. Two up and two down early. Meanwhile, Smith got the K there. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Two down. LHP Bjorn Johnson will come on. Woody just took a comebacker off the arm. Ruh roh! 108 mph off the bat! OH No! He's coming out.
  18. Smith has walked two after getting one here in the fifth. He then threw one to the back stop. Runners advanced. Men on 2nd and 3rd. One down. He's in a 2-2 count. 5-0 Mudcats lead. He is still only at 65 pitches.
  19. Yuppers. I was actually 'guesstimating' in a couple ticks. Capital Hoping. 🫣
  20. 9th Rehab assignment for Woody. Sixth with the Sounds. Heater seems to be back in that early 89-91 mph range early. Sigh. Fly out to left CF. Fly out down the LF line. Fly out to Zamora at SS.
  21. It certainly is. The swing he just executed in the bottom of the fourth was the swing we saw repeatedly before this current run all over the map. That easy, level swing that easily grabs 110 mph + of contact is definitely what we're after 😅
  22. Bottle that approach, Braylon. 111 mph off the bat. Whewwww. Best swing I've seen from him in two weeks.
  23. Made squeaks one through the left side for a shallow ground ball RBI single. Bases stay loaded. 3-0 Muddies. Payne will try to execute. AND that's what we're looking for. A clean level swing on pitch one! Atttttttta way Braylon! Two-run double. That ball was torched.
  24. Walther hits a deep fly to the warning track that escapes Gillen's glove (likely afraid of a wall collision ? and also a possible miscommunication). We now have bases juiced. One down. Made will try to do some damage.
  25. Carolina League leading walk specialist DH Reece Walling grabs another free pass. Men on 1st and 2nd. One out here in the 4th. Walther quickly falls behind 0-2.
