  1. Root escapes. Pop out to 3B. 6-4-3 DP. Great recovery.
  2. RHP Bayden Root may have had his best outing as a Brewer of late. He is back to old ways we've seen before: Six straight balls on in relief. Man on first. 2-0 count. Nobody down. He gives up a ground ball single up the middle on the next pitch. Two men on. Nobody down.
  3. More two on trouble for Cornielle in the second. Lead off single. Four pitch walk. Two men on. Nobody down. Shuckers clinging to a 3-1 lead.
  4. A lead-off five pitch walk for Tayden Hall. A reach poke liner single for Jadher Areinamo. A Blake Burke sac fly to CF. It's 4-1. That's Burke's team-leading 7th RBI. And that's all. A Wood force out. A weakly hit dribbler off the bat of Baez. This is not your Carolina Mudcats offense. 😅
  5. Birchard with a bit more loss of control to the next batter. Now in a 3-2 count after a WP in the dirt sent the runner to 2B. He gets the swinging K on a high outside heater (another ball). That's his 5th K, however. The mixed bag of his outings continue.
  6. Nittoli pitched a clean 1-2-3 inning of relief including a swinging K on a slider dipping low and away to complete his frame of work. Nice stuff. 6-1 Sounds on to the 7th. Meanwhile, with two down...Birchard just walked another batter. That was nine in a row retired. These AB's happen routinely for him in his young career, however. He suddenly just loses his heater arm side. Overcompensates and then throws it low and outside. His two out walk pattern is one of his biggest issues amongst his ongoing walk issues at large. The stuff is there. The fine-tuned mechanics remain elusive.
  7. It would appear Ethan Murray has been charged with two throwing errors here in the first frame. Yikes. BUT, Cornielle works around his struggling second baseman with three K's. 3-1 Shuckers. Unearned run.
  8. It appears as though an Ethan Murray throwing error followed by a single has runners on the corners and nobody out against RHP Alexander Cornielle. 3-0 lead. That's a tough way to leave your pitcher hanging.
  9. Cameron hits a bloop liner single into RF. Delgado crosses. Cameron tries to stretch it to two and is thrown out by Quero at 2B. 6-1 Sounds. On to the bottom of the 6th.
  10. Birchard looked good in the third frame. Clearly I missed his worst inning in the first. Three up and three down including a K on a swopping curve. T-Rats still trail 4-0.
  11. Mona just ripped a double to deep LF. He now has a two hit night. Nice to see for the young man! Sounds lead 4-1. Top of 6th. Man on second. One down for Delgado. He goose snorts a bloop infield liner into shallow CF. Monasterio had to hold at 2B so is incapable of scoring on the play (looked like he'd make Home, honestly). Men on the corners. One down. Delgado then steals 2B (throw beat him by 3 feet. Tag hit his left hand. Ump called him safe anyway.) A sharply hit liner one hops and is snared but Mona scores anyhow. 5-1 Sounds.
  12. 1B Luke Adams just hit a double to clear the bases for the T-Rats after Darrien Miller worked a count full and then took a walk to load the bases. 3-0 Shuckers. Pratt and Adams also swiped bags in the same frame.
  13. Two more walks in two frames completed so far for RHP Ryan Birchard. They continue to be a problem. He also allowed a few knocks in there as the T-Rats trail 4-0 early.
  14. Heck of a perfromance from García to get into the fifth frame after that 35 pitch first frame! Sounds lead 4-1.
  15. Cameron smokes a 3-2 comebacker and Rodriguez snags it. 3-0 Sounds. We will now see if García comes back out for a second frame of work given he's approaching upper 30's total pitches.
  16. WP scores Delgado. Herron moves to 2B. 3-0 Sounds. 1-1 count to Cameron. This all has happened with two down. Baseball. You literally never know.
  17. YES SIR! Herron gets his first and second RBI's of his season. That had to have felt good for Herron!. He gets a bit of a hanging inside slider or curve and pokes an oppo line drive single into shallow RF. Big hit there, Jimmy! 2-0 Sounds. Cameron now back to the dish for his 2nd AB.
  18. That's now three consecutive two out walks from the Knight's starter Rodriguez (their opening day starter). Bases dripping. Two down. Let's see if Jimmy Herron can have his best moment of his young season. It's been a struggle to date. Hopefully, he can come through.
  19. Two very well worked two out walks from Wes Clarke and Andruw Monasterio. Both behind in their counts. Laid off some pretty enticing sliders. Delgado now works his count 3-0. Let's hope we have something here.
  20. Sounds pitching staff is managing a team-wide 2.20 ERA. They are hitting 0.216 as a team as well. Hence, the 7-7 record.
  21. García gets the K looking (ol' nemesis Tim Elko) and then walks the bases full in a five-pitch AB following. He is already at 25 pitches. BUT, the next hitter (Fletcher) starts with a pitch clock violation of his own. He show bunt and pulls on an inside heater on the inner black. García up again 0-2. Fouled back a heater (way too much plate again). Misses way high on a breaker. 1-2. Misses way outside and low on a slider. 2-2. Slider runs away inside (Seigler set out on the outside black) fouled back (just barely). Pitch count 28. High corner heater. 92 mph. Fouled back again. 30th pitch. Another foul down the first base line. Bullpen is up and active already. Misses low on a dipping slider 3-2 count. Another foul - this one down the RF line into the stands. Another foul ball. Pitch count 33. Sheeesh. 😅 High slider. Fouled back again. Inside heater coming up and in he mercifully gets the fly out to Cameron in RF. Yowza. I do wonder aloud if he'll come back out. That was a lengthy inning.
  22. García sees a broken bat liner land in right CF off the bat of Drury. Quero fights off an inside heater for a liner just beyond the leaping glove of Monasterio at SS. Two men aboard. One down. Knights bottom of the 1st frame. Garcia has gotten ahead of each batter. His two strike execution has found just a bit too much of the plate. He is ahead 0-2 again (second batter in a row) 15 pitches into his first frame of work.
  23. Welp, just like that an Oliva force out to SS sees Cameron put out. Then Oliva is picked off before the first pitch to Durbin. Two down.
  24. Daz Cameron stays red hot for the Sounds. He leads off the game tonight with a reach liner single into LF in an 0-2 count. The lead-off man is aboard for the Sounds.
  25. Wes Clarke fills in for EMJ who gets the rest day - this is only Clarke's third appearance at first base on the season 15 games in.
