  1. And we have a T-Rats line-up card: LF Hedbert Perez? Yes Sir! Let's go. 1B Blake Burke keeps on trucking as Tayden Hall gets the nod in the DH slot. As alluded to in the Transactions page, RHP Ryan Birchard will get the nod in his first High-A start.
  2. Carolina has announced the following line-up for tonight's game one versus Delmarva: We see young and talented 2B Josh Adamczewski (as expected) remains sidelined as he works to heal that nagging back injury. Most importantly, can RHP Daniel Corniel bounce back from his 7-run fifth inning last week at Fredericksburg. He was smooth sailing until that mini-meltdown. Let's hope he has put it in the rearview mirror.
  3. We have our second line-up card for our week of action. Biloxi (with their 'King Cakes' theme - already missing the 'Beach Chickens'. Sigh) will be rolling out the following: Can 3B Brock Wilken break out of his prolonged slump at the dish? Will CF Casey Martin play the unlikely hero once again? The First place Shuckers will look to take down the Mississippi Braves in game 1.
  4. Hey, it's just nice to see both Yoho and Miz get serious mention from a reputable pod. You don't even have to know what any of these peripherals mean. If you've watched any amount of professional baseball in your life you can tell in one or two Yoho outings: he's different. He was and is an MLB pitcher in April. It was absurdly apparent. IF (and this is a huge IF) RHP Yerlin Rodriguez could ever consistently stack location and mix with his raw toolkit we'd have a third. BUT, man, he's fallen off hard since his best outing of his career. It makes me all kinds of Emo. 😂
  5. We have our first line-up card for our week of action. Nashville is rolling out the following: Isaac Collins is back at 3B. Newly returned Wes Clarke is back in his comfy DH slot batting fifth protecting RF Brewer Hicklen. 1B Patrick Dorrian is back experimenting at a spot on the infield dirt he was extremely uncomfortable in 2023 post-Jon Singleton exodus. Let's hope he's practiced some in the off-season! RHP Taylor Clarke is indeed toeing the rubber to start this one at arch nemesis Durham. The Sounds are 4.0 GB, alone in 2nd place in the International League, of first place Columbus.
  6. Let's take a quick trip down Memory Lane from just this past week in Fredericksburg. RHP Bryan Rivera was absolutely dealing some off-speed mastery reaching heights few have reached this year in Low-A:
  7. Clearly, I'm just sad I don't get to watch Mr. Yoho pitch in the near-term. 😂 Thanks for pointing that back out to me! I adjusted my commentary.
  8. Would be wild and would be very <sad face>. The Dos are just in a very tough division. They haven't pulled past the 5.0 GB in some time no matter what they do. The DSL Cleveland Goryl are no joke - they've beaten the DSL Brewers Uno the two times they've played that I can recall. It's a credit to the Dos they've moved up (they were just 7.5 GB a week or so ago) and have got back to winning. The Uno, however, man they've just hit the wall and are ending their season with a colossal dud. Injuries are obviously playing a part here but they are still just fizzling. And, this all being said, it's important (for levity sake here) to remember: The Uno y Dos were essentially in a dead heat offensively the entire season - yes, even with Made and Pena consistently producing massive outputs. The issues the Dos faced were largely due to their pitching staff conceding so many runs. IF that pitching were to resolve itself, their tides were bound to change. Over their winning streak they've allowed 2,3, and 4 runs. They lost two before that allowing 5 and 6 runs. And, before losing those two, to start last week they won a double header allowing 2 and 4 runs. Given their season average of runs allowed per contest is 5.14...you can see the obvious trend here: allow less than 5 runs? Likely to win. They score 5.72 runs per game. They've now scored more runs than the DSL Brewers Uno while playing one fewer games. The DSL Crew Uno have only allowed 4.16 runs/game through 49 contests.
  9. The close to the DSL Brewers Uno season is some serious 'Ouch'. They've now lost 5 straight and are 4.5 GB with one week left in the regular season. This losing streak comes after being in a dead heat with the Orioles Orange for the majority of the season - just last week they had pulled within 1.5 G. Meanwhile, the DSL Cerveceros Dos keep winning. They won their third straight today and have moved to 27-21 overall.
  10. 1B/DH Wes Clarke was activated from the Temporarily Inactive List RHP Craig Yoho was placed on the Temporarily Inactive List RHP Aidan Maldonado was placed on the 7-Day IL by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (retroactive to 8/12) Yes, this RHP Craig Yoho: Hopefully, he comes healthy and strong from whatever reasons he is temporarily inactive for...
  11. 8/20 is the final regular season date fwiw.
  12. Not to mention he sat out the last game and was a DH today for only 2 AB. It certainly seems like something might be up there. Really unfortunate timing!
  13. Well, the DSL Cerveceros Uno are certainly going out with a dud in their push for a playoff berth. Swept by the DSL Orioles Orange in their Saturday double header. Now they've ;pst today 3-1 to the 21-29 DSL Rojos? They've lost four straight and are 3.5 GB in the most important 10 day push of their season. Sigh. Not what we expected after transferring several of the best DSL Cerveceros Dos players to their clubhouse. Meanwhile, the DSL Cerveceros Dos scoffed at the loss of their teammates. They've now won two straight and have moved back to 5 games over 0.500 at 26-21.
  14. C Yoneiker Lugo just smacked his first long ball of his summer. A three-run blast. DSL Cerveceros Dos lead 3-2z
  15. Yup and it's another one of those random MiLB games this season where Bally somehow trumps a showing via MiLB.TV. Can't even go back and watch what actually happened there. Second time, off the top of my head, a T-Rats game has been involved with this in 2024. Farts! 😂
  16. With the 'W' tonight, and a 4-2 series victory, the Sounds (22-16) remain alone in 2nd place across the International League. They are 4.0 GB red hot Columbus (26-12) - winners of 9-of-11 - who also took their series 4-2. BIG series upcoming @ ye ol' arch nemesis the Durham Bulls (17-22) who remain 9.5 GB but the standings just rarely matter when these two go head-to-head.
  17. It's amazing how much of a fine line that is. Never ceases to amaze. Accuracy in and around the Zone is everything. Doesn't matter how electric your stuff is if you can't keep it in that 1-3" zone around the entire zone. Ergo, Yerlin Rodriguez's ongoing issues.
  18. Pretty much @markedman5. It's been quite obvious, honestly, since his time as a T-Rats his next real stop was the MLB ball club. His stuff is absolutely that good. Been saying it since early May.
  19. Welcome to the "Maybe we should revisit RHP Mitch White as a starting pitcher?" late-season breakout party. My goodness. 5 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 WP, 7 K, 0 R. Heck of a start, in his first such action in 2024. Sounds just grabbed a 2-0 lead on an RBI single off the bat of Freddy Zamora. Bottom of the 5th.
  20. With today's 4-0 shutout victory @ Montgomery, the Shuckers maintained their 2.0 G advantage over second place Pensacola. The Shuckers now hold a 24-14 record in the second half - the second best record between both divisions to Tennessee's 26-13 mark. Because Montgomery won the first half, they've already secured a playoff berth so their standing in the second half standings is relatively meaningless. Sidebar: Extremely rough 0-for-5, 4 K day at the dish for 3B Brock Wilken in what was an extremely disappointing series overall at the plate. 2-for-24, 11 K, 3 BB. Yikes. After picking it up in July, Wilken has come crashing back to Earth and then some: 0.086 BA on the month with a 'Yikes!' 0.286 OPS. That'll impact the bottom line and it has.
  21. Just reached out to my Mudcats connection. It appears young 2B Josh Adamczewski is on a good path with the current ongoing therapy regime for his back. Tentative thinking, as of today, is if all goes according to plan and his body responds the way it has been he could be back in the line-up Wendesday/Thursday of this upcoming week. And, as we know, these things can be finicky. He's young, though, and it certainly sounds as tho his body is responding very favorably to the current treatment regime. Let's keep our fingers crossed. AND, let's hope he can move past this in the near term.
  22. T-Rats are going to try and ride the solo jack of Ramon Rodriguez to a victory. They just grabbed a 1-0 lead. Cruz and Manfredi have each pitched 3 scoreless. Meanwhile, the Muddies have reclaimed the lead 6-4.
