  1. 'Mr. Untouchable':
  2. Me writing tonight's report:
  3. SO, I went back and tallied the DSL Cerveceros Wins and Losses over their entire season (and, should they get in the playoffs I truly hope they can avoid the Cleveland Goryl who have given them fits every time they've played each other) and despite what the current Standings say today I actually have them at 30-15 overall with today's two 'W's. Which, by my count would mean they are only 1/2 GB the DSL Orioles Orange. BUT, honestly, who really knows in the ACL and DSL this season. Inning-to-inning. Game-to-game. I really don't know what results mean what. I did go through every recorded game since early June AND they are 30-15 if the record books are accurate. It currently states they are 28-15. I don't see it.
  4. I hear you. As I've been going through the archives, I am remembering names like Jean Carmona, Aaron Familia, Yerison Pena, Igancio Ortand, Joantgel Segovia, Jose Aberro. AND, I will never stop being forever intrigued and lured into the "We've got another One!" fan trap. 😅 But, to your point, it certainly seems like the Brewers have really turned their International talent pool into a deep pool of talent with legitimate upside. And, of course, we still won't know for many many more years. The Complex itself, however, is truly a state-of-the-art addition to the organization.
  5. Man, Hedbert Perez taking strays and he's been mostly injured for two seasons! I continue to believe in Perez's swing. The results certainly haveno't been there consistently like any of us would like. BUT, when he's been healthy he has been a winner in Zebulon. Still just 21 years old through early April of next year. Really unfortunate injuries the past two seasons. Still a plus player positively impacting those Mudcats results - again, when healthy - solid defender with some pop in that lefty bat. Hopefully, he's recuperating nicely and will be back in the fold in 2025 - heck, maybe even late season for Carolina and/or in the AFL.
  6. Man, today's games and the overall records has me going back deep into the Brewers DSL record books. Fondly remembering that 2011 DSL Brewers season with Orlando Arcia. What a time.
  7. We likely won't know for several hours. Heck, they may not have even played today. These could be yesterday's results! It's the Domican Twilight Zone.
  8. I am pretty sure, without a definitive standings update, the Brewers Uno moved back within 1 G of the first place DSL Orioles Orange by winning both games today. The Orioles Orange lost 5-0 to the Orioles Black. Either way you peel this 2024 DSL banana, these are the best collective DSL seasons we've had since? The 'updated' standings show the DSL Crew winners of one game in a row but they officially won two today after completing a previous contest. SO, I may have to go back and tally their record myself.
  9. Luis Pena hit his sixth triple in a 1-for3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 3B day. He was CS for just his 4th time. He is now hitting an improbable 0.401 in 152 AB. Unreal.
  10. Corobo hit his 4th long ball and caught another base runner attempting to swipe 2B. This young man is something else.
  11. The one-time Minor League FA prodigal son returns to The Show: C Jakson Reetz's Contract Selected by Giants for 2nd Time in 2024
  12. Is this a Patrick burner account first post? Welcome to the board! The deeper advanced peripherals spoken to above tell the tale but, like Daniel here I personally felt he should have been that first non-40 man call up and rostered man. It made a lot more sense than forcing Carlos to the Big Show with so little proven success at Triple-A. I was one who thought he'd benefit from the **** away from ABS (as a coping mechanism for my doubts, perhaps!) but clearly he just wasn't ready.
  13. Well, it appears a tight 3-2 game between the DSL Brewers Uno and the Cleveland Goryl broke open with an inside the park Grand Salami in the Goryl top of the 7th. Roinks! The Crew Uno lose 7-2.
  14. The Brewers just signed a Falmouth Commodore from the Cape Cod Baseball League's West Division. RHP Jack Seppings was signed and assigned to the ACL Brewers. He played college ball in the Ivy at Brown. More on the signing, and Jack, HERE C Kegnallex Seijas was assigned to the DSL Brewers #1 from the DSL Brewers #2
  15. AND, the Shuckers game has been suspended. Seminaris was in the midst of a prototypical scuffling Seminaris start. Men on 2nd and 3rd. One down. Seminaris has had a much better second season with the Crew org but he remains entirely erratic hopping between starting and long relief.
  16. I couldn't disagree more - it was total fluff! 😜 Aquino was used out of the Pen for his first four of six outings in July. His first start (of two at the end of the month) he only lasted 3 2/3 IP - seems like a stretch here tho we both know historically he has been used as a Starter. I just don't see it applying in this category in July. Aquino was much better in July but if we're going off pure stuff Fitzpatrick - in only three outings - was a more dominant pitcher. However, just like Aquino he only started a small percentage of his outings (1-of-3). I am strictly speaking to 'stuff'. And, to the caveat of what you are writing about above, I'd easily go RHP Will Rudy as a pure starter over Aquino as well in terms of pure starting pitching results. Rudy was actually quite good in July. To that end, leaving RHP Manuel Rodriguez out of the list entirely is a choice. 3-of-4 outings true Quality Starts for the 18-year-old. Continues to do things every month no single starting pitcher is doing. The other start a mere 5 IP performance. 20 K-to-3 BB (2 HB) in 23 IP. 0.157 BAA and a 0.70 WHIP with a 3.52 ERA begs me to ask: are you suffering 'Rodriguez Atrophy'? 😅 Anyhow, RHP K.C. Hunt naturally gets my nod of approval. As you well know, Hunt was my guy from his first outing. Just an absolute stud who will be pitching Double-A ball sooner than later.
  17. After such a ridiculously woeful start to his season, it is really awesome to see INF Patrick Dorrian bounce back with solid play the past two plus months. He had a decent July. He's having a solid beginning to his August after today's 2-for-3, 2 R, 1 RBI showing. Love to see it.
  18. For those who practice feeling good: What you don't see in this highlight is the pitch he fought off and fouled back just one toss prior. He then took a very professional walk in the bottom of the 8th an inning later. Just a really nice overall player.
  19. Vargas ripped a 2-run single up the middle in a 2-2 count. 14-9. Let's also call a spade a spade here: RHP Yerlin Rdorgiuez is very very lucky with how erratic and unreliable he is he has a pitcher as savvy and poised as RHP Aaron Rund to consistently save his butt. That's the truth.
  20. Yeah, I mentioned this above. Could be one or the other. Could just be: those both sucked. Take a rest.
  21. Another walk. 12-9. I just want to say I have absolutely loved the work we've gotten from Ramón Rodríguez and David Garcia in 2024. Just solid solid overall players.
