  1. Garcia hit a tricky short-hopped chopper up the 3B line. The 3B'man tried to corral it on that tricky short hop but it caromed off the heel of glove into 3B foul territory. Runner held wisely. Bases still juiced 11-9. Mound visit to check on their pitcher. About to get back underway.
  2. SO, I am guessing the DP ball that ended the bottom of the 2nd - a 6-4-3 DP - is where Pratt found out he may want to rest up and see what's going on. He made the throw from 2B - didn't appear to fully unleash as he didn't need to but he is replaced then in the top of the 3rd frame. He also had a collision in the top of the 1st with Areinamo. Again, hoping it's just a precautionary: "Hey, you've had a couple dangerous moments today. Take the prolonged rest with tomorrow off."
  3. Yeah, they threw him back to first base on a failed pick-off and he is still shaking that off. In very clear discomfort. Let's just hope it's very very sore and he gets the day off and recuperates.
  4. Just went back and watched the Pratt HBP. He was plunked on the back of the right elbow. Off-speed. Hopefully, just a stinger. He was definitely feeling the impacts tho. Shook that arm repeatedly. Bent over in clear pain.
  5. Yerlin is still in the game. Gives up a lead-off double to LF to start the 8th. Because, well, of course. 😅
  6. AND, now it's C Ramón Rodríguez's turn to make a difference. Two run jack to LF. 10-8 T-Rats. Let's GO!!!! Kudos to Eduardo Garcia for staying patient and not chasing that sixth pitch down and in the dirt. Not a given with the young Garcia. He took the free pass to give Ramón the extra RBI. On to the top of the 8th with the 10-8 lead.
  7. He escaped via ground out to 3B. Whewwww. 8-8. On to the bottom of the 7th
  8. Yerlin came aboard with the 8-7 lead. He scored the game tying runner via WP. Then gave up a Walk. Then a single. Runners on the corners two down. 8-8 game. Sigh.
  9. Oh Yerlin. My Sweet Prince. I pray you find your Princess some day and rule your pitching kingdom with poise and savvy. As for now? You are searching for what it means to be a King. He gives up the lead. AND, just walked a runner aboard. Also has a WP. Ugh.
  10. Oh BOY. Just remember, folks. I was asking for you to join my Areinamo bandwagon over a year ago when y'all were worrying about his swing pattern and lack of power. AND, as I said then and as I still say today: toss those concerns in the trash. This young man is built different! WHEW BABY! T Rats lead after his 3-Run BLAST.
  11. Man that Cornielle feel good story fell back to Earth fast. Really hoping he isn't playing through injury and this is just a lull. His pitches have really flattened out over the past two outings - very little movement of any kind. Lots of prolonged 'sitting there' look and results.
  12. Heck of a Double-A debut for ascending LHP Tate Kuehner.
  13. Man, it is really a shame the Muddies couldn't capitalize and steal that Dub last night. Really a shame. It was right there in regulation. Just couldn't get that next poke. Today's start is Delayed due to weather it would appear.
  14. We shall see. His primary offering is that curveball. The slider is a sprinkler and might get some swings on that swooping movement. I haven't heard a speed call from Chris but that heater has some late movement and I am feeling more 91 mph on that pitch but you were there. We'll have to track it. His build is uncannily similar to Higuera. Also, and I can't verify this but I could swear I saw him throw two change-ups.
  15. BTW, those 2 HR by Bitonti? That River Dogs pitcher, RHP Samuel Mejia had only allowed 3 long balls in 40 innings pitched coming into that tilt.
  16. First K was in his third inning of work on another curveball. Really a fantastic breaker. Plus pitch.
  17. 7-up and 7-down before Bitonti botched a routine grounder for an Error. In those first 7 batters faced, he had one mistake breaking ball belt high and in that was hit for a hard out to the tip of the LF warning track. Curve ball is a realllly nice pitch.
  18. First thing I am reminded of when watching LHP Anthony Flores? He gives off Teddy Higuera vibes on the bump.
  19. Who is going back to watch LHP Anthony Flores' relief outing last night? This cagey vet right here.
  20. Meanwhile, the DSL Cerveceros Dos are absolutely spanking the DSL Astros Orange 15-4 as they head to the bottom of the 9th. They've broken away with 11 runs over the final four innings and there certainly appears to be some classic DSL pitching meltdown items on the Orange Ledger: 12 BB, 4 WP, and 2 HB. 6-of-15 Crew Dos runs have not been accounted for by bats.
  21. The DSL Brewers Uno exchanged 4-spots in the top of the 8th frame of Xtras. Wild. They then conceded what was ultimately the winning run on a throwing error from SS Luis Pena (just his 2nd of his season) after runners on 1st and 2nd had advanced via a WP just before. Pena then grounded out to 3B with runners on the corners and two down in the bottom of the 9th. They lose a tough one to the DSL Rojos in what ended up 9 innings - 2 innings of Xtras - 8-7. They entered those Xtras knotted 3-3.
  22. Meanwhile, the DLS Brewers #2 head to their top of the 7th (9-inning game) and lead 7-4.
  23. DSL Brewers #1 are tied 3-3 and headed to Xtras (scheduled 7-inning game). Made lined out to SS with a man on 3rd and two down in the bottom of the 7th. They had the opening two runners on 1st and 2nd before Santiesteban hit into a DP.
