One has to think, regardless of Ashby's shoulder recovery year, the constant regression to zero control outing-to-outing (with so few sustained bright spots) he will be a DFA candidate sooner than later. I know you've brought this up a couple times, Jim. AND, man, with each successive outing like this it becomes more likely by the day. 😔 -

He was hitting 0.112 folks. With an OPS in the 0.300's. That. Was. An. Incredible. Moment. Fantastic resilience and follow-through Mr. Martin. Just fantastic.

Slider looking. Strike 1. Slider in the dirt he swings and misses. This is precisely what I saw last night. 0-2 count. Hall pinch running for Kahle at 2B. 0-1 pitch an inside off-speed off the plate he fouls it down the 3B line. He takes a 98 mph heater below the knees on the outside corner graciously called a ball. 1-2 count. AND, OMG!!! Casey Martin does it! He smashes a two run slider over the LF wall for his biggest hit as a Shucker. INCREDIBLE. A walk off two run shot. 3-1 Shuckers win. Congratulations Mr. Martin. That. Was. Phenomenal.

Well, hello C Nick Kahle! He bloops an oppo double to the deep RF corner and we are tied at 1 apiece! This an AB after Sparks went down looking at a 96 mph heater over the outer black. Needless to say, a huge hit. Casey Martin will have a chance here. Let's hope he can put together a better AB than anything I saw last night.

With their 2-1 victory (hats off to the pitching staff of RHP's Chad Patrick, Kevin Herget, and Evan McKendry) the Sounds moved within 1.5 GB of the three way tie atop the International League leaderboards. Columbus, Lehigh Valley, and Rochester are all tied.

Durow got all three outs in the 6th via strikeout. They will go to their half up 5-2. AND, I now have to gather chicken eggs, tend rabbits, and make my family dinner. It's been real friends.
