  1. Campbell K's swinging to start the inning. 96 mph dead center cut. Belt high. But, tailing sinker. He swung under that pitch. He was overmatched in that AB. Roycroft is a very good Triple-A reliever. BUT, who other than Patrick Dorrian to drive in his 2nd run of his evening. Now on base for his 4th time. He muscles a broken bat liner over the extension of the pitcher. 11-10 Nashville. Gotta have that run. Let's pull this out!
  2. We'll have Xtras. A groundout to Collins at 2B end the threat - he gathered two outs that frame. Heavily shifted to the left side, he made both plays and made them look easy. On to the 10th.
  3. After Herget escaped the 8th via a double play, RHP Ryan Middendorf will try and shut this down. BUT, he's not going to do it. Ouch. He gives up a solo jack on his third pitch. Dead center cut off-speed (87 mph) to straightaway CF. That ball was well gone. Man. This game. Each team has led three times. Each team has blown a lead three times.
  4. NO MATTER!!!! HE FOULS OFF A COUPLE MORE PITCHES AND CRUSHES ANOTHER 1-2 PITCH OFF RHP DAVID ROBERTSON TO RIGHT CF. OK. Caps off. LOL. Sounds re-claim the lead 10-9. Black's 10th ding dong. My goodness. What an AB. He sat back enough on an off-speed dipping below the zone and pulled it over the RF wall. What a piece of hitting by Black. That was the sauce.
  5. My goodness, Tyler Black just missed a 1-2 go-ahead 2-run jack on an inside heater pulled down the RF line by a matter of feet. He absolutely crushed that pitch. AND, it will simply be marked a foul ball. Game of inches.
  6. Not a good night for pitchers looking to get rescued by their infields. 1B Wes Clarke gets eaten up by a hard hit liner at his feet directly to him 1B side. It was hit very hard. But, Clarke stabbed and whiffed and fell to his knees as the two-out rip made it to deep RF. That knocked two Redbirds across the dish. It's now an 8-6 Sounds lead. Meeker will suffer the fates of that hard hit knock which will very likely be ruled a 2-RBI double. Meeker continues to put ducks on the pond. He walks Walker. AND, just like that, he then gives up a first-pitch absolute bomb to dead CF on an off-speed below the zone. He went down and absolutely crushed that pitch. 9-8 Redbirds, suddenly. Meeker came aboard with an 8-4 lead. His up-and-down mighty struggles continue since his DFA back to Nashville. He is pulled.
  7. Wood's rough night continued in the 8th when he air-mailed a bunt single down the 1B line allowing the lead-off runner to advance to 2B. He then stole 3B. A HBP by RHP Bayden Root then led to a weather delay (finally). Men on the corners. Nobody out. Bottom of the 8th. Delay. T-Rats trial 7-3.
  8. Take THAT @damuelle! Another XBH for 'Wiems'. An XBH rocket oppo double straight off the base of the RF wall. He even turned and faced the camera and mouthed: "You doubt me, Daniel?" That's now 3 RBI. A HR. a 2B. 🤭
  9. Zamora with a huge knock. His 2nd and 3rd RBI's plated in the process. A well hit double to deep LF past the sprinting, charging LF'er. He plates two, as I said, and grabs one back after Clarke gave up another run the inning prior. 7-4 Sounds. Meanwhile, it's starting to absolutley dump rain in Beloit.
  10. Boy, Costello with a mistake pitch in a bases loaded jam (some self-induced - HBP and a BB in there after a weak flare single to shallow RF). In an 0-2 count, he hung a ball dead center cut and it was ripped for a single into LF. Poor execution in a key spot. T-Rats now trail 6-3. He'll obviously want that one back. And rain is cascading down now with lightning in the distance. We'll see if the T-Rats will have a chance to make some noise of their own. Two down. Men still on 1st and 2nd. He gives up another base hit up the gut. It's now 7-3. Rough inning for Chase.
  11. 2 K's for Shook. He worked around a free pass. Clean inning. 8-0 to the bottom of the 8th.
  12. Meanwhile, Matt Wood just struck out for the 3rd time tonight on a check swing on a pitch that dipped low and outside the zone. Very close but likely went. Hall on 2B. That was a big K. Rough night at the dish for Wood. Garcia followed with a K of his own on the surefire Garcia kryptonite: off-speed dipping low and away. That pitch continues to be his Achilles' heel.
  13. RHP TJ Shook is on to spell Blalock in the 8th frame. Let's go 'Shookster'. Let's shut this game down.
  14. ALSO, let's give a tip of the cap: Mike Guerrero is in the Shuckers dugout tonight. You love to see it. He's at the dugout rail chatting it up with many a Shuckers player. Soak up that wisdom, men!
  15. RHP Chase Costello with an uber-impressive 6th inning. My goodness. That was electric. I continue to make the claim: I want him in my bullpen 24/7. 7 days a week. Meanwhile, Casey Martin just hit a 3-run bomb pulled over the LF fence. What a fantastic game for Martin as he continues to find comfort in Biloxi. That's two XBH tonight. LOVE LOVE LOVE to see it! 2nd HR in 3 games. It's 8-0 baby. The last time the Shuckers hit 3 HR in a game? May 10th vs Montgomery.
  16. Cargo alert: Single through the right-hand side of the infield. 13 game hit streak. 21 game on base streak. We really do take this young man for granted. Let's call a spade a spade.
  17. Wow. Blalock just completed 7 IP. Incredibly important outing for the young man. Very very much into this! Several weak pop outs. Several hard hit fly outs. ONLY one knock. 5 K. Just the outing he needed to reclaim that confidence and swagger.
  18. RHP Bradley Blalock has set a career high with a 6 1/3 IP Start. He's still pitching. Just grabbing a swinging miss K. He's been robbed of several strikes. Heck of a performance.
  19. 100%. They are studs. And, at least by me (and you) they are treated as such. You know my opinions on Areinamo. He's a phenomenal player. And, somehow entirely an asterisk. Barrios has a frame that shows a lot of dreaming.
  20. A Zamora dribbling nutmeg of the pitcher scores Dorrian from 3rd. 5-3 Sounds. Two down.
  21. Patrick Dorrian (!!!!) RBI triple ripped down the RF line. That ball was smoked. That's 3 XBH here for the Sounds and they reclaim the lead 4-3. Woot woot!
  22. Hicklen hit a lead-off double to start the 4th inning. Mejía drove him in with a double to the RF wall. 3-3 game. We are tied.
  23. T-Rats just grabbed one back on a ground out to 1B by Tayden Hall. 4-3 game. Big run there. We have a runner on 3B and Wood back to the dish. BUT, he struck out for the second consecutive AB. Unfortunate. That's a lefty-on-lefty match-up. Wood is not seeing that ball very well.
  24. AND, just like that: Yerlin gets the K on three pitches to end the threat on a high inside 99 mph check swing K. Man. So much talent. Never know where it's going to go. 😅
