  1. The home plate ump (who has not been all that sharp) misses Merkel's strike 3 on the outer black. Really nice breaking ball. He doesn't get the call. The run crosses the plate. 5-2 Wahoos. Bases still dripping. One down.
  2. Merkel walks his first batter on four pitches. The sacks are dripping. Ouch.
  3. Blalock makes it 2 1/3 innings. Just an ugly outing any way you look at it. Got peppered. Elevated pitch count. Makes it 76 pitches. Heater was just not effective. RHP Nick Merkel is going to look to try to squelch another mini rally. Shuckers trail 4-2. Men on 1st and 2nd. One down.
  4. Mercifully, the frame ends with a swinging K. Phew. Pitch count at 59. Yikes. Only trailing 3-2. Plenty of time to salvage the outing, Mr. Blalock.
  5. Two down now after a shallow pop out to Wilken in the very shallow LF grass. Pitch count at 57. He can sneak out of this yet.
  6. OK. Finally. Merkel is up. Just silly to wait this long.
  7. Wahoos have three hits in the inning. Blalock's pitch count is at 52. Ayrault has nobody up in the bullpen. What are we doing? Let's wake up.
  8. Martin corrals a shallow sac fly down the RF line. His attempt to throw the runner out crossing home plate sails to the Wahoos dugout. Yikes. 😅 3-2 Wahoos. One down. Pitch count at 50.
  9. Blalock looks very very pedestrian. Another run crosses. 2-2 game. Triple down the line on a 3-2 hanger. His heater is just so hittable. Pitch count is already at 41 with no outs in the 2nd frame.
  10. After Areinamo's 2-for-4, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K day? He's now hitting 0.300. I'm just saying! More walks than K's the past two months combined. He's 20 years old until 11/28. How in the heck do we not celebrate what we have here on a more committed basis. Best defensive infielder in the system with a trending bat? MoAr HomE RuNS! 😅
  11. Hey now! EBJ works the count full with two down and two men on. He rocks an inside sinker to the LF wall. It's 2-1 Shuckers baby. EBJ now has an 8-game hit streak. 12 games on base. Noice!
  12. Wilken with a very uncompetitive first AB. Sad face.
  13. On the 29th pitch, in a 1-2 count, the wind straight in from RF kills a 102 mph smash at the deep right CF warning track (374 '). Blalock got away with one there. Not a pretty inning overall. Slider does look sharp tho.
  14. After a groundout to EBJ at SS, Blalock gives up a well hit single into CF. 1-0 Wahoos. Cargo misplays the gather and the runner advances to 2B. Cargo has had a rough defensive series through 2 G in CF. Misplaying reads. Botching gathers. Gotta tighten that up. One down. Runner on 2B. Gets the K looking. Pitch count is already at 26. Rough opening frame for the young righty.
  15. Blalock leads the game off with a ten pitch walk. Not what the young hurler is looking for to get things started. Let's hope he picks it up! He walked a lead-off who was 25-of-27 SB on the season. He proceeded to make that 26-of-28. He's now 3-2 on the next batter. Homeplate ump blew strike 3. Gorgeous slider.
  16. RHP Evan McKendry's last two June long relief appearances (6/8 & 6/20): 9 2/3 IP, 5 H, 0 BB, 13 K, 0 R RHP Evan McKendry's last two Starts (6/14 & 6/26): 8 2/3 IP, 13 H, 6 BB, 7 K, 1 HB, 4 HR, 16 ER 😬
  17. In case anyone was wondering, Garrett Mitchell appeared to tweak a left hammy today in a swing-and-miss toward the end of the game (end of the following clip). He left the game immediately. He has been absolutely playing lights out the past week plus. Gotta keep him healthy. Such a weapon. Check out the OF assist nabbing the very speedy Victor Mesa Jr.:
  18. LOVE a walk-off for 'Mona'. Ultimate teammate. Plenty of talent in the bag. Works extremely hard. Stays prepared. Great attitude. Will play anywhere you ask him to. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my ultility guys. Every one of them deserves these opportunities. So elated when they come through - it's just not easy to do!
  19. Doh! Aquino and Childers combined to lose the T-Rats lead and ultimately the game. Childers gave up 5 H and 3 ER in the 9th. T-Rats lose 5-4. This immediately after the T-Rats had plated three go-ahead runs in the bottom of the 8th. Yowch!
  20. LHP Tate Kuehner in the midst of another fantastic start. You have to absolutely love what he's been putting out there over the past month. 4 scoreless, 1 H/1 BB/4K innings so far at just 56 pitches. He continues to ascend. I saw this potential from his first outing despite the results - I'm on record stating as such. Love it for him! Wood just knocked Adams home with a dub after Admiral Adams had walked. 1-0 good guys.
  21. RHP Dikember Sanchez with his best outing as a Mudcat in the Muddies 6-3 loss to Lynchburg.2 2/3 IP. 1 H, 0 BB, 3 K, 0 R. You gotta love it. With Durow in a bit of a rough patch this is a great development.
  22. Ummm Wes Clarke - aka 'The Clarke Bar' - just smacked a go-ahead 2-out Grand Salami!!! Boooo Ya! 8-7 Sounds baby.
  23. Let's just get him in the Milwaukee clubhouse sooner than later. He has looked fantastic. Too many skilled OF'ers deserving of PT at the MLB level is a great problem to have.
