  1. Yeager on to try and close the 5-0 Shuckers victory for a 2-0 series lead. In a 1-2 count on the lead-off batter, he rips a heater off the top of his knee. That batter leaves. Man on 1B. He gets a K looking to get his first out. One down. Man on 1B.
  2. Middy, my man! He gets the 6-4-3 inning ending DP on a 1-1 pitch. Great dig by Owen Miller at 1B on a low one-hop throw from Collins. That's the stuff.
  3. That's three walks in his 1/3 IP so far for Woessner. Man, he just continues to trend South in Nashville. They're going to call on RHP Ryan Middendorf. Woessner has hit an absolute wall in his development path. He is a completely unreliable pitcher at present. <Sad Face>. He leaves after 1/3 IP, 3 BB. Bases are juiced with one down.
  4. Walks his next batter on a heater nowhere near the zone on a 3-2 pitch. Man, his frustrating Triple-A work absolutely continues here early. Next pitch? Not even close at the lefty's feet. 1-0 count.
  5. Woessner comes aboard. 9-4 lead. Proceeds to walk his first batter in four pitches. Like clockwork. My goodness.
  6. Controlled. That's the most important thing. Only gave up one hit. NO WALKS. Lotta grounders. Nothing hit all that hard whatsoever. He started out by hitting the lead-off batter on an 0-2 pitch. LOL. I thought "Oh man, here we go again..." He threw a few fantastic sliders in there but I would opine he couldn't really find that off-speed strikeout stuff he would have liked. Heater seemed to sit 95-98 mph. I don't think I saw a 99 or 100? I could be wrong. BUT, we build from here (I HOPE!).
  7. RHP Tyler Woessner will come on to pitch the 8th. Interesting.
  8. Mejía just ripped a rocket liner down the 3B line to score two more. Gotta feel like sweet nectar against his old team. He cashes in two free passes. It's a 9-4 Sounds lead. Let's go, baby! The Sounds have score in four of their past five innings.
  9. Ernesto Martinez Jr. just absolutely rocked a two-run jack over the right CF wall. Whew baby. When Martinez hits them he hits them. The Trash Pandas announcer claims he hasn't seen a HR leave their stadium that fast in his tenure. LOL. You gotta love it. 5-0 Shuckers. You get a look at this 421 foot rocket. My goodness:
  10. Meanwhile, the Sounds have a 7-4 lead as we head into the bottom of the 7th. AND, hey, the good thing here is we don't have RHP Mitch White available to blow this lead. There is light at the end of the tunnel!
  11. Merkel with a clean 7th. You love to see it. After a classic lean-in HBP, he gets the ground out to 3B. Wilken casually throws to O'Rae covering 2B. On to the 8th. Meanwhile, the Mudcats beat the Fireflies with their bench unit as RHP Braelin Rodriguez pitches a very clean 1-2-3 9th frame. He honors the two runs plated by his pesky teammates in the top half. 4-2 Mudcats 'W'. They take a 2-1 series lead.
  12. RHP Nick Merkel will replace 'The Miz' in the 7th. He'll try to keep the score 3-0.
  13. Wilken with his second poke on a fantastic liner single to LF. Out in front of an off-speed pitch he still cracked that and hit it hard into LF. May have been a classic one arm swing. Get HOT, young man!
  14. Oh wait, that run never crossed. LOL. BUT, it did on the 2nd WP of the frame. Acosta moves to 3B in the process. 4-2. Two down. Man on third. Mercado in a full count.
  15. The Muddies have taken a 3-2 lead on a WP. Acosta then beats a DP with a head first slide as the 1B drops the ball regardless. 4-2 Muddies. Two down. Love love love to see it after the blown sac tag to 3B the last inning. Ball does not lie.
  16. 6 IP for Miz. 77 pitches. I think we'll see him start the 7th. Glorious. Scoreless. One hit work. Nope. He'll end his night after 6 IP, 5 K, 1 H, 0 BB, 1 HB. Just absolutely fantastic and, frankly, what we really needed to see. Let's absolutely build up from here young man! He knocks back 0.44 off his season ERA to boot and is now at 3.44 on the season.
  17. I like me some long-haired moustachioed RHP Chase Costello. Give me that man in any bullpen. Any day of the week. He has the strut to match my confidence in 2024. Love it. He pitches a clean 7th and gets the K looking on high heat to end the frame three-up; three-down. T-Rats lead 7-2.
  18. Braelin Rodriguez had some tough luck earlier in the bottom of the 8th frame. He then walked a batter after several balls to get the bases juiced with only one down. AND, in an unreal decision by the Fireflies they choose to run from 2nd to 3rd on a deep sac fly and Castillo very wisely threw his OF toss direct to the 3B bag and they get the runner out before the run crosses. Unreal decision(s) there. Game stays locked at 2-2.
  19. Noah Campbell adds two runs with a well hit single into CF. Fantastic. 3-0 Shuckers. Let's GO!
  20. Shuckers have the bases juiced. Nobody down. Top of the 6th. Last time they had the bases juiced? They struck out three times. Let's hope for a different result.
  21. An evening after a HR jack, Wilken rips a deep line drive to the LF wall. That ball was rocked. It's a lead-off double to start the 6th.
  22. AND, he strands the pillows dripping. Wonderful. An inside breaker induces a super weak grounder directly to 2B. Barrios collects it. Steps on the bag. Casually throws to first for the inning ending DP.
  23. Kuehner's outing ends after his 2nd free pass of the 6th. He completes 5 1/3 IP. Bad luck and then just a series of unfortunate events. Costello then gives up a first pitch oppo single to RF to load the bases. Hopefully he can leave these men stranded. Bases juiced. One down. 6-2 T-Rats.
  24. Miz is scoreless through 5 IP at just 66 pitches. You absolutely LOVE to see it. The K's aren't where we want them but we have to get back to pounding the zone and he is absolutely doing that tonight. Fantastic effort so far.
