    RHP Stiven Cruz has quietly been extremely effective for the T-Rats for over a month. I sincerely hope this type of relief work continues. Huge boost for his future prospects after a really tough High-A 2023. This is his age 22 season after all. Plenty of ballgame left.

    I said it over a month ago. I'll repeat it again here: He is an MLB pitcher yesterday. The Minor League Level is irrelevant to the tools he possesses. MLB is his next residence by my book. His stuff is filthy. Unlike, Shears, he has complete control of his toolkit.

    With the T-Rats leading 6-1, and with the Kernels getting roasted for an 11-1 Sweet Corn shellacking, the Rattlers are three innings away from pushing their uber-tight divisional lead back to 1.5 G. Miles to go but the end portrait after play tonight is getting clearer and pleasing to the eyes.

    HUGE dub for the Muddies today. They gain a game on 2nd place Fredericksburg - of Nationals ancestry. They now have a 3.0 G lead in the division. Reminder: They face 9 games under 0.500 Charleston on the road next week before facing the 2nd place Nats at Home the following week before closing out with the 8-Game (2 game make-up) series @ Columbia. Eyes. On. The. Prize.

    Hey now! We have CF camera views of RHP Shane Smith's career-best start. Hammer curve absolutely still crushes. Slider a nice wrinkle and impactful. Mid 90's heat playing all over the zone. I keep imagining a future where Smithy brings a change-up. I'm greedy after seeing this clip:

When he was drafted we knew: -signed intent w Nicholls State (good bet he might forego that and turn pro - yay for us!) -6'0" 180's build - Righty - Upper 80's to low 90's heat at that time -Already a 2700's RPM slider -Undeveloped change-up Extremely excited to follow his journey.

    Yep. I've been tracking him peripherally. What's really interesting there for me: he's played more SS than 3B. Didn't see that one coming. AND, he's fielding to the tune of 97 FP%. Fantastic start for him. I really hope he flourishes. K Rate still quite high for an FCL setting but, hey, always dreams allowed here.

    Wisconsin maintains its 1.5 G lead over 2nd place Cedar Rapids who bested Lake County 4-2 on 3 combined runs in the 8th and 9th frames. Every game from here on out so important as the T-Rats push for their first post-season birth in nearly 10 years. Let's GO!

    Carolina gained a game on 2nd place Fredericksburg tonight. They are now 2.0 G ahead. After the series wraps up on Sunday, who will they face next week? Last place Charleston. Another extremely important series against a last place foe. They then come Home to face the Nats in Zebulon. Let's go!

    Johan Barrios is really starting to heat up. This is a fantastic ACL season development. 3-for-4 tonight with 1 3B and 2 RBI. BA up to 0.255. OPS now at 0.875. Addendum here: this isn't even 50 AB's yet. I'm simply saying it's nice to see signs of meaningful life happening for the one time prized International signing.

    Really awesome to see a 3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 4 K RHP K.C. Hunt finish to a 6-3 T-Rats victory. That's the sauce. And, it's exactly what any of us who've watched him dominance in Carolina for most of the first half would expect as he adjusts to High-A. The T-Rats are now 14 over.

    Carolina and Wisconsin sure are special in the first half of 2024. Biloxi is...sure something else. They lose their ninth consecutive Home game. I blame the camera. Cursed I say!
