  1. O'Rae is already on 3B advancing on two WP's. 0 down. Lara is 3-2.
  2. Baez rips another one. Oppo double deep to the wall in right CF. 3-for-3. Let's see if he can survive on the basepaths. BIG ASK! 5-0 Muddies. Let's go baby!
  3. Consecutive sac flies move all the runners. Hall drives in his 8th of the year. 4-0 Mudcats now. One down. Yophery on 3B.
  4. Gasser K'd the side. Just got Stowers on a 95 mph laser swinging. THAT inning? Get him to Milwaukee for crying out loud. Goodness gracious he is on one in 2024.
  5. Another high RPM K. What's wild is Rodriguez only sits 89-91 mph on the gun. BUT, he rips those consistently in the high 2600-2800 RPM spin metric. He just plays. Meanwhile, Gasser. Two up. Two down. Both K's looking. Whewww baby call this hot rod UP. We need this Gasssssss. He's once again hitting 95 mph with ease.
  6. Gasser just K'd Holliday on a wicked inside slider. Whewwww baby. That's the sauce.
  7. A 2700 plus RPM heater on the outer stripe gets a groundout to 2B for his 2nd out of the 5th. Rodriguez: has stuff. Will travel.
  8. Fifth K for Rodriguez on a gorgeous breaking pitch below the zone to open his 5th frame. That's 5 K's now.
  9. What continues to be strange for me in the Greg Young Jr. transition is they are still using all his promotional bits during the telecast. The entire transition, given its proximity to the start of the season, continues to be an adjustment. But, to @MudcatsfaninBrunsCO's point: Chris has been fantastic in game 1. If this is what we get moving forward, we are very very lucky.
  10. With age comes experience. And Edwards very clearly has experience in the booth. He's fantastic. The entire Colin Casey adventure was, well, it was something. Glad he's back somewhere comfortable. Hopefully, it's a valuable learning experience for the young fella.
  11. (Politely asks self quietly: How does Nashville have a better record than Norfolk?)
  12. Oh hey, we post like the same thing at the same time once again. Man, we are so lame together. 😅
  13. Another 1-2-3 Manuel Rodriguez inning. Nothing hit hard at all. Three pop flies. I continue to fall in love with his game. Easy ol' fella. Settle down! 3-0 Mudcats. On to the bottom of the 4th.
  14. Replay would have proven he was safe there. The throw got there but that was a very good slide. He was safe. AND, to your point: he definitely is something on the base paths. 😅
  15. In fairness to Guilarte, he really just needs to stay healthy. He showed more than enough early in 2023 during his hot start that he is likely ready for High-A ball but staying healthy has been elusive. Let's keep saying those baseball prayers that he has a clean season!
  16. Hey now! Cooper Pratt rips a very hard hit line drive single to left CF and he drives in Guilarte. His 9th RBI of his season. Mudcats leading 2-0! Let's GO!
  17. Another Rodriguez K. 4 through 2 2/3 IP. These Fireflies have absolutely no read on his curveball right now. Looking. Swinging and whiffing. Just dialed.
  18. Garcia walks on four pitchers (David, Catcher). We have runners on the corners and two down now. Yhoswar Garcia then pops out to shallow CF on an 0-1 pitch. 1-0 and we are on to the 3rd frame. Missed opportunities there for sure That's definitely his style of play. Aggressive. Fearless. And, with mixed results as a result of that.
  19. Baez advances to 3B on a well hit Castillo ground out to 2B. He is thrown out at Home plate, however, when Nicasia grounds out weakly to the SS playing in on a hit-and-run. Nicasia then takes 2B and is now 7-for-7 on the year. He then grabs 3B and is now 8-got-8 on the year.
  20. What is Chris' full name? I feel I've heard him in the Carolina League previously and liked his other work as well.
  21. Baez with his 25th hit of his season on a looping double and he sees the Fireflies CF'er is slow to turn and he smartly takes second for a hustle double. Second inning in a row the Mudcats lead-off with a runner in scoring position.
  22. Right? Always calm and collected. Always consistent in the delivery. Pitches well beyond his age in terms of how he attacks the zone and nibbles the edges. Just a really advanced set of tools and deliveries.
  23. Another K and he's through the frame at 31 pitches. That's 3 punch outs through 2 IP. That was a resilient battle in a tough AB. 1-0 Mudcats and we're on to the bottom of the 2nd. This announcer is 10x better than Casey. I can roll with this. Good information. Smooth. I'm a fan.
  24. 2nd K for Rodriguez and they nearly get the strike him out throw him out dp to end the frame. Instead we have a runner in scoring position with two down. The same runner steals 3rd. We are up 1-2 after another beautiful curve dips below the inner half of the zone.
  25. I'll say it again: Rodriguez is just working his mix right now. Gorgeous stuff. If you've never seen him pitch, he essentially has a cutter, four-seamer, really nice curve, and a change-up. Within that change-up and fastball mix he seems to have several different ways he can spin it or bring it. Just a fun pitcher to watch.
