  1. Let's go Mudcats! Let's end this six-game skid. The bats are coming to life in the 8th. Consecutive 0 out doubles by C Blayberg Diaz and now INF Gregory Barrios have pulled the young men within 4-3. AND, we have the runner at 2nd base. And, still, nobody down. Let's GO!
  2. After giving up two runs in the 3rd frame, Gasser bounces back pitching his best inning of the night in the 4th - he ends it with 2 K's. 8-2 Sounds headed to the bottom half.
  3. That's yet another deep fly given up by Childers off, you guessed it, the heater. It's just such a hittable pitch. Man, I really really hope there's something in the works with that pitch. As it stands, it's a liability. The Mudcats deficit is back to three runs as the score now stands 4-1.
  4. The Mudcats grab a run and trail 3-1 headed to the bottom of the 7th frame. It wouldn't have come any other way tonight: hitting into a double play. That's at least 3 on the evening - the worst of which came in 2nd with the bases juiced and one down. That was a killer.
  5. Hey a Chourio XBH! He hits a screamer down the 3B line and into the bullpen. That's a two-bagger. Let's go, young man. Let's get those XBH's coming in bunches.
  6. Whew, I thought Valerio went back-to-back. He hit that ball well but must have just gotten under it as it falls deep into the warning track about 5 feet up the wall. That was a matter of an inch on the bat. Whew.
  7. Yes Sir! INF Zavier Warren hits a no-doubter linedrive over the wall in LF. It's 4-1 Shuckers. He drives in Lutz after he worked the lead-off walk. Let's go!
  8. 5-0 Sounds after Turang somehow landed that bloop flare into the shallow grass in LF. That ball may have traveled 30 mph.😅
  9. Nashville is now up 3-0. The bases are dripping with Brosseau to the dish. Nobody down. He hits the deep sac fly to left CF. 4-0. Runners now on 1B and 2B.
  10. RHP Christian Mejias works around two wild pitches (scoring one run in the process) to avoid further damage. The Shuckers head to the 2nd up 2-1. He gets the K swinging on an off-speed delivery center cut and in to leave men on 1st and 2nd base. Meanwhile, muh man, INF Cam Devanney rips a line drive triple over the leaping 3B into the deep LF corner. Atta boy, Cam! Let's keep the surge going!
  11. I don't know of a pitcher in the system, at present, who suffers from more misplays from his infield than LHP Robert Gasser. It's like his version of the talented starter who gets no run support. And, it almost always seems to come back and haunt him.
  12. Childers recovers quite nicely by working his really solid off-speed offerings. He has a couple very effective off-speed pitches in the toolkit. I want to again declare: at present, these need to be the feature. I'd like to see that current heater be a third pitch he sprinkles in. He gets two K's to leave the frame without further harm.
  13. As I stated after his first outing, RHP Will Childers has a problem fastball. It hangs. It has little to no movement. And, it is flat. He gives up the very definition of a 'meatball' solo shot here in the 3rd frame as the Mudcats have now given up solo jacks in each and every inning. That was another no-doubter off the bat. Mudcats trail 3-0.
  14. @wiguy94's favorite old man just went yard to lead off this tilt versus Gwinnett. Over the wall in RF. Nice swing. Nice result.
  15. We are now warming up in both Nashville and at Montgomery. We'll have all three night tilts on their way shortly.
  16. And Augusta has their second solo jack in the early going. Another two out long ball. This one an oppo blast off a 3-1 heater in the upper corner of the zone. Tip of the cap. That was a man's swing.
  17. Hey now, we have Mudcats dripping on the basepaths. One down. And, it would appear we have Vargas at the dish. Let's get some runs on that scoreboard, men! Ugh. He hits a routine chopper to SS and that's all she wrote. An inning ending dp.
  18. After three gorgeous sliders from Low in his third batter faced, he leaves a dead center hanger with his fourth off-speed and it is blasted over the wall in LF. Augusta leads 1-0. I didn't like the pitch call there, honestly - whether or not that was a mistake or not, I'd call for heat up and out of the zone there.
  19. At least we have RHP Quinton Low to look forward to today. Come on Mr. Low, let's rip some filthy stuff today!
  20. Those first three AB's definitely support your proposition here. 😅
  21. We are underway at Augusta as the Mudcats take the plate in the top of the 1st frame. Barrios popped out to 2B to start the game.
  22. Deep Cut DSL Trivia: Which MLB organization opened the first Academy in the Dominican Republic? HINT: It involved the father of the Biloxi Shuckers very own manager, Mike Guerrero BIGGER HINT: Start at the 4:50 mark in this Interview HERE
  23. RHP Brennan Jordan once again shuts the door. He saves the erratic work of Vassalotti and Gardner. T-Rats win 8-5. That's a big game 1 win on the road at the best team in the Midwest League.
  24. This is my second time seeing RHP Sam Gardner. He has only pitched twice. In each outing, each pitch was an absolute adventure. I had no idea where any pitch would go. He has been all over the map again today. And, he just sent both base runners forward after a wild pitch to the back stop. He then gave up a deep double off the wall in left field. Why? Well, he can't locate anything off-speed and his heater is an unknown to boot. When you are down 3-0 in the count, however, you have to throw heat over the plate. It's 8-5. Only one down. The tying run is in the on deck circle. Man on 2nd base. We're headed back to the bullpen.
