Trocheck and Miller are both on the squad expressly for face-off specialists and penalty kill bodies. Billy G knows the value as the Wild notoriously struggle in the face-off arena. I agree with you, however, in that several more talented players were left off this USA roster - we can certainly add Hudson and Cozens to this list, imho. But, Guerin really loves his veteran presences across the roster. Even tho Miller, specifically, has clearly lost a step and Trocheck has played with lackluster passion all season long with the Rangers...they've not hurt the Stars and Stripes in Italy. Heck, Jack Hughes was a shell of himself in NJ pretty much all season long and you can easily tout him as at least the third most dangerous player on the current roster at the rate he's playing. Heck, I still think Auston Matthews isn't necessarily Captain material and has also lost a step but he's played extremely well as the tourney progressed. It's put up or shut up time now. Canada is a talented juggernaut but they've clearly shown they aren't unbeatable...unless they keep getting more calls from more Canadian refs (coughs).
