  1. Love it, obviously. I've been saying for two years his off-speed is elite so it is pretty awesome to see his slider grade out so well. I've even contended in the past year his accuracy combined with his off-speed stuff makes him a true Maddux corollary. BUT, I still am strongly desiring a couple ticks of separation with his true heater. Still hoping to see it this spring or early at Biloxi.
  2. Helley will now go down in the history books. I absolutely LOVE that for him. He was easily the best American on that ice today. 'The Save' will go down in hockey lore forever. What a stunning world class ELITE performance under the brightest of lights.
  3. 18-of-18 (!!!) on Penalty Kill for the Red White n Blue. 3-for-3 in the Gold Medal victory vs Canada. Billy G sacrificed speed and elite offensive zone talent for veteran grit, Face-Off probability, and Penalty Kill. Sure looks like a good set of decisions now. He can thank Helley. My gods to get that type of Goalie performance at that stage? Legendary stuff. That performance will never ever be forgotten. Proud US hockey fan today, boys!
  4. The degree of difficulty on some of those shots last night was pretty severe. You can certainly see how he is prone to off nights, but man alive, watching Rollins, KPJ, and Thomas was legit fun last night.
  5. Thanks for adding some details to my wonderings. I appreciate it.
  6. All off-season I've awaited the possibly new and improved velo readings on one of my faves in RHP Manuel Rodriguez. Coming out throwing a vintage 89-90 does not have me all that jazzed!😅 Sigh. This was purportedly his first off-season where the org targeted and dedicated velo specific work. Hoping this is simply easing into it but I fear we may be looking at what we are going into the season with...still a fantastic pitcher but he really does need to add a good 3-4 mph to his floor me thinks.
  7. Wilken is unfortunately turning into one of those very talented players who always seems to have a nagging something. I do wonder aloud if we'll ever see him healthy for a meaningful stretch of time. Let's just hope it is nagging and nothing serious! Garabito's injury is a very real bummer. He was likely to be knocking on the door and really needed innings to carve a role in the organization. Looks like we'll see him in July? Ouch.
  8. Just saw Garabito is going to miss four months with a broken bone in his foot? Sheeeesh. Tough break for a young man who felt like he really had a chance to carve out a role as call-up multiple innings depth as well as a key cog to the Sounds 2026 staff.
  9. Two more interview candidates named: Seattle's Asst. ST coach (past two years) in Devin Fitzimmons Arizona's Asst. ST coach the past three seasons Steve Sewell It appears Matthew Smiley (former Bills ST coach) is taking the ST coordinator role with the South Carolina Gamecocks as he heads back to the college ranks.
  10. That was the first time I really checked in on Bucky since they leaped to #2 in the rankings. They've obviously scuffled (?) falling down to 13th but beating the Wolverines so handily is certainly encouraging. They've clearly gotten up for the challenge of the teams in Michigan this season. What I'm reading above, tho, is they've been Jekyll and Hyde like in their inconsistency. Aren't they an extremely young roster? I feel like that would potentially explain it? I don't know enough about their program but that run to #2 was extremely exciting when it happened.
  11. Trocheck and Miller are both on the squad expressly for face-off specialists and penalty kill bodies. Billy G knows the value as the Wild notoriously struggle in the face-off arena. I agree with you, however, in that several more talented players were left off this USA roster - we can certainly add Hudson and Cozens to this list, imho. But, Guerin really loves his veteran presences across the roster. Even tho Miller, specifically, has clearly lost a step and Trocheck has played with lackluster passion all season long with the Rangers...they've not hurt the Stars and Stripes in Italy. Heck, Jack Hughes was a shell of himself in NJ pretty much all season long and you can easily tout him as at least the third most dangerous player on the current roster at the rate he's playing. Heck, I still think Auston Matthews isn't necessarily Captain material and has also lost a step but he's played extremely well as the tourney progressed. It's put up or shut up time now. Canada is a talented juggernaut but they've clearly shown they aren't unbeatable...unless they keep getting more calls from more Canadian refs (coughs).
  12. Nice article back in January on 2025's brief Brewer (signed in the off-season and traded in April for Daz Cameron and cash) LHP Grant Wolfram. Touches on the real success he experienced out of the Orioles' Pen as the season progressed including the unleashing of a sweeper he had worked on with the Orioles staff and debuted in MLB games in September. It appears he and the Orioles are a very good match at present. He opened his ST action yesterday vs the Yankess with a clean 1.0 IP with 3 K. You love to see it! Keep it going, Grant!
  13. US vs Canada in the Men's Hockey Final. Absolutely steamrolled Slovakia. This is the Finals we all wanted. May we have our best game and give the Canucks hockey hell.
  14. Speaking of ST's, the Packers actually are interviewing some candidates it would appear: First three candidates are Cameron Achord, Tim McMahon and Kyle Wilber.
  15. Not one comment on the Olympic hockey festivities? That US/Sweden game was a fantastic hockey game. Grit and grind. Shvedskiy tied it with 1:31 on a gorgeous pass and gorgeous one-timer off the near post. Quinn Hughes with a double-shift into an unreal wrister in OT. Slovakia is on a heater but I think the US matches up with them quite well. Eichel is still such an unreal player. Larkin had an incredible quarterfinal game. Boldy has been the best US forward for the majority of the tourney and Jack Hughes has been electric - so much better than his appearance in the Nations play just last year. Finns/Canada in the other semis. Incredible hockey contest today.
  16. I mean at this stage I wouldn't mind a swing for the fences and see if Iowa's Levar Woods is interested in an NFL gig. Is this a stupid idea?
  17. Can we all agree that Rich Bisaccia announcing he's stepping down on February 17th after the majority of the coaching hires are completed across the NF of L is legitimately high comedy. Maybe LaFleur one ups his Mennenga hire and sneaks someone in from the FCS circuit?
  18. I think it is fairly simple to at least leave the chance Rengifo rebounds and gives similar offensive production as Durbin in 2025 and vice versa a possible 2025 Rengifo-like regression for Durbin. Doesn't mean this happens, obviously but it is a reasonable 'risk' to take given the pitching the Brewers just acquired. Given, imho, we have no upper tier prospects really remotely ready to step in at the hot corner to start 2026, this also takes any unnecessary aggressive promotions based purely out of need out of the equation. Solid baseline need-based MLB-proven stop gap.
  19. How the heck has Dieng just been molding on the OKC bench? How did we turn Coffey/Anthony into this 22-yo long smart basketball player who apparently a might just be a much better shooter (and player) than advertised? Horts proving once again he and his staff can work the margins. I do wonder if the margins is where the basketball ops have actual licensure to control the decision-making process? Either way: I mean. Sheesh. And, again, Nance is just a very smart playable basketball player. Watch how quickly he moves these balls. Thing of beauty.
  20. Has Jack ever commented or responded to a single question in any of the numerous articles he has posted here? Press Box Maxi. 😅
  21. My goodness he looks amazing. I am here for every step of this journey. Thanks for sharing these, Spence!
  22. We avoided the barks - a miracle - but we dd not avoid the dogs in full as I certainly had to up and tend multiple times 😅 More importantly, I think I managed to mute myself during all my coughing hacks. A real team player.
