  1. It would appear OF David Dahl has transitioned quickly into his post-playing career as he signs on with the Los Angeles Dodgers as their Triple-A (Oklahoma City) OF & Asst Hitting coach. Very cool and best of luck David!
  2. I think US Women's Hockey have outshot their first two opponents 199-30. Man, they are absolutely cooking. Outscored first two opponents 10-1. Outshot the Finns 49-11 today.
  3. INF/OF Weston Wilson has officially cleared DFA waivers and has been outrighted to Norfolk by the Baltimore Orioles. Like Bryan Hudson above, Wilson will have to accept the assignment - his first outright while lacking the required three years of clocked MLB service time.
  4. 35-year-old journeyman C Luke Maile (Sounds 2021) has signed a new Minor League deal with the Royals.
  5. Bucks thought they had the go-ahead 3 from Turner with 6 seconds left. Not so fast! Myles caught the ball with his right foot clearly out of bounds. Tank on! Pels can't capitalize. Leading to this absolute Kooooooz gem: All Time Kooz gaffe. There are levels to his levels. Pels should have won it on their ensuing possession but Trey Murphy III fumbled a backdoor pass for the winning lay in. Incredible strength to this Tank-Off.
  6. This Bucks/Pels knock is an All-Time Tank-on-Tank Classic. Unbelievable stuff.
  7. It would appear the corresponding move for the White Sox after signing Austin Hays is DFA'ng old southpaw friend LHP Bryan Hudson. Will he start the season in Charlotte? Will he stay in the Sox org? Given Hudson used up his final option year in 2025, and given this is his very first DFA while also having less than three seasons accrued on his service clock, he'll have to wait the 48 he waiver window to see if any teams claim him or trade for him. Given his struggles the past year plus - drop in velo and general loss of control - I tend to think he very likely opens his 2026 season in Charlotte. Sounds open their Home Park Tuesday March 31st vs Charlotte - I imagine we could see Bryan once or twice that series.
  8. I get this part of the equation. AND, I get maximizing value of the Beal deal etc. BUT, also, to think landing on Trae and AD as the first end move in this rearranging is quite something. AD hasn't played a healthy season since? I honestly don't even know and he's on the wrong side of 30. And, Trae, well Trae is just a net negative player and is extremely ball dominant - not to mention he plays zero defense.
  9. What on Earth are the Wizards doing? Make it make sense.
  10. Wow. That is quite the move for Eddy Morgan. I hope it works out, obviously and, as we know, the Minor League managing duties are often filled with major input and line up mandates from on high. I will just say, I am unsure if Morgan was thought of all that highly of while at Concordia and his teams were never really great performers. It seems to me this is a bump in position due to connections with people in the organization more than something due to accomplishments. Obviously, I could very much be wrong here but it certainly reads that way from afar.
  11. I am ready for Garrett to aim for a healthy full season of baseball. This likely means a PT spot gig in a rotation and possibly beginning the year in a prove it capacity at Nashville. Let's be real here: He has been injured in various capacities his entire pro career. Let's see if he can stay healthy for the first time as a small investment of wishful thinking.
  12. Played for the Orioles organization last year. Ended in Triple-A Norfolk tho did receive a very brief 4-Day call-up in early August.
  13. Ok. Beyond this trade deadline nonsense (apparently the Cavs GM let his children make a trade with the Clippers), and back to Bucks basketball... The sidebar storyline we are witnessing in real time: Pete Nance might actually be a good rotation NBA player...is bananas. He plays smart. He picks his spots. He can shoot. He can slash - he understands timing and spacing. He's meaningfully active. Was not on my Bingo card! In a forgettable season, this is a bright spot beyond the Ryan Rollins storyline.
  14. I mean this is nothing short of a Baseball miracle. I am speechless and so happy for Frank, his family, and his close friends.
  15. I didn't notice this until yesterday, but apparently the Packers have already hired their new LB coach after Hafley took his own down to Miami for a D-Coordinator role. Oconomowoc native, and last year's Virginia Tech D-Coordinator, Sam Siefkes: Also, I should add, it appears DeMarcus Covington has been retained and will remain the D-Line coach. So, it appears most of (if not all?) the defensive staff is indeed set as of today.
  16. RHP Vinny Nittoli signs with a new team on a Minor League deal:
  17. Reading that last paragraph - and knowing that is absolutely possible with the Bucks org and their top notch basketball ops 'think tank'; "Hey I know we're going to fire Doc and his coaching staff and Horts this off season BUT let's let them deal the best asset we've seen wear a Bucks uniform in over 50 years! Strike while the iron is hawt!" - well, it has me all
  18. First Babich and his wealth of experience. Now quite a bit more DB room experience added. Say what we want, but these are good hires in a vacuum:
  19. The Doctor was cooking at Boston today. Pressing all the right buttons. This Bucks squad is running hawt. 11 games under now and the Tank feels as strong as it has ever been. They have the right commander. They have the personnel. It's like we have leapt back to the days of yore real quick like. You can say what you want about Jimmy Haslam, but he's been a part of winners everywhere he's gone in pro sports.
  20. Looking over that current active Estrellas roster over at Baseball America - I don't know how acccurate this roster actually is - I see old friend LHP Andy Otero! Hadn't read or heard his name in a couple years. Awesome to see. We also see RHP Enoli Paredes, RHP Marcos Diplan (a name I hadn't thought of, personally, in many years), RHP Javy Guerra, and we even have a RHP Zach Mort (!!) sighting!
  21. I think what we're learning as this situation develops is they aren't shopping Giannis but they are actually listening on Giannis trade proposals for the first time. As of yesterday, it was reported they were asking for the moon when listening and engaging - which is what they should be doing, imho. Jim O brought some levity (who is actually the only person covering the Bucks who is actually questioning why Doc Rivers is still coaching this team) when he mentioned there is very much still the possibility they are angling to extend and keep Giannis through the trade deadline with hopes of extending him with a SuperMax. Is this certain? Absolutely not but it feels quite a bit more fluid than the first Shams tweet suggested (entirely unsurprising). They may still trade him, sure. But it also seems just as likely they keep him and rearrange some version of deck chairs or takenon unwanted conteacts to father more draft capital - see today's news linked to Cam Thomas and D'Angelo Russell for example? The only thing that makes sense in this iteration is they actually realize how incredibly talented and deep this upcoming draft is and they see Doc as an asset to help them get the best pick they possibly can. Who knows. It's the Bucks afterall.
  22. Well, I don't think moving on from Bud was the incorrect decision - it certainly seemed as tho he had lost the team and he had lost his edge - clearly showcased in the failed opportunity at Phoenix. Despite being 30-13 at the time of the Griffin firing, there were many whispers of his dysfunction outside the coaching duties - there were rumored problems beyond the court and he has since not found a job in the NBA. Which brings me to: Doctor Glenn Rivers. Yeah. Can not happen. Lambasted and laughed at immediately across the greater NBA fandom. Anyone who follows NBA basketball knew what an unbelievably silly decision this was. The Bucks performance has only gotten predictably worse.
  23. (pitched for Durham and Lehigh Valley of the International League last year)
  24. I just heard of 'the parking lot event in 2019'. Reese was wildin'! Shows to go you: If you have talent, personal life snafus are easily overlooked. Hope he's found some inner Peace since that unfortunate exposure.
