  1. Yeah. Wally was much better tonight than he has been of late - good to see. He made some key stops throughout despite what 4 conceded in 33 shots will say statistically. I expected this loss - back-to-back after two exhilarating road wins down five key core players. Wild were gifted a phantom penalty earlier with that hilarious call on the Foglino trip in open ice. Unfortunately, Star have re-tied them for 2nd place in the Central as they were absolutely smoking tonight.
  2. Wild down five core rotation players in Boldy, Erikkson Ei, Brodin, Bogosian, and Johansson have gone on the road and beat Buffalo and Toronto - two teams in the Atlantic that have been red hot. This after, fully healthy, dropping two straight at home outscored 11-3 by New Jersey and Winnipeg. Head to Montreal today for a stab at the Canadiens. It seems like every team in the Atlantic is on a heater! Wallstedt has come back to Earth of late and has suddenly been very shaky in the nets. Apparently, Billy G may be looking to add Trocheck to their roster. I don't know what they end up doing to add (and they will most definitely he adding for a possible run) but I absolutely do not want them parting with either Yurov or Stramel. Anywho, the Avs remain an absolute Tank so all is likely moot in the end. Just hoping they aren't bounced in Rd 1 for a change!
  3. BUMP. The Blalock off-season whirlwind continues...
  4. I am sincerely going to miss Hafley's interviews. He just has that ineffable charisma so few coaches possess. You get Malik Willis in his comfort zone down yonder and they could absolutely make some noise next season. Curious to see who (if any) he poaches from GB's staff. Obviously, his Boston College connects go with him. Anyone else? Covington DC?
  5. WBC related, it looks as tho RHP Carlos Rodriguez is back playing for Nicaragua:
  6. I don't know anything BUT acquiring a young man named 'Stylz Blackmon' has to carry some First Team All-Name considerations, no?
  7. (D II's Augustana - 1st Team all-NSIC selection in 2025)
  8. Captain Continuity will find you in your sleep!
  9. Off the board and staying in Hotlanta.
  10. Sent out on 5 2/3 innings of rehab work while on the 40-Man back in 2022, we're going to tip our cap to former Brewers reliever RHP Trevor Gott. (He touched dirt on the T-Rats and Sounds mound!😅)
  11. I think the leading candidate, as I see it, is Raheem Morris. And, that would be a very good hire on multiple fronts. He's a consistent leader in DVOA with his units. He has improved units everywhere he has coached. AND, I think he also sticks around for a bit because there really isn't all that much shine left on his HC resume. Just my two cents.
  12. In all seriousness, I personally don't find anything to complain about now that this is done. Whatever. Would I have liked a different direction? Probably. Do I understand this decision? Yes. They have essentially a three year window with their core. McManus absolutely crapping the bed matters. As do the mental mistakes of many a player (who likely won't be there next season). We'll see how serious they are in terms of how they approach constructing this year's staff. Hafley is obviously gone. There are several very solid candidates to replace him. Got to get a plus LB coach in the building. Have to address how the org values ST's units (I found Mosqueda's article here quite eye opening - ie Bisaccia is nowhere near as bad as some of us think and the org apparently loves him) Have to address the secondary and O-Line issues. Have to address the dead wight on the roster - some hard cuts will likely have to be made. Anywho, this was the predictable outcome. I don't have any expectations really but this always felt like the direction they'd go.
  13. I look forward to Policy at the lectern looking back at these extensions and the results and letting us know: "That's on me."
  14. This would also be supported by reports out of the Complex - apparently much better player than advertised during the Draft. Might end up being a Draft Diamond.
  15. In Cheesehead's vision, I think Fischer is easily pictured as the one month High-A Boeve treatment kind of scenario - then the quick promotion to Biloxi. They likely want to move him along quickly so I also would be entirely unsurprised if he opens at Biloxi as the everyday 3B/1B (timeshare) where Garcia becomes their utility OF/INF guy. Adamczewski, O'Rae, and Garcia's (and, even EBJ's nost likely) versatility give them a bevy of line up options. Dickinson and Ragsdale could also be fast movers given what I'm hearing.
  16. Second interview for Hafley - first in person with new GM John Eric Sullivan. I love this fit for both and really hope it happens: And, it would appear he is the logical frontrunner:
  17. Yeah, I was wondering about the injury component here too. Torn achilles (May 20th). I think all we know at this point is he signed a new Minor League deal with the Brewers back in November of last year. I even went back to quickly peruse Curt Hogg's article on injury updates and there was no mention. I think in this case it would all come down to how severe the original Achilles tear was. There are 3-6 month varieties but the full rupture is typically a 6-12 month recovery I believe? There is potential he is ready to go?
  18. Hafley interviewed with Sullivan yesterday or the day before, so yes indeed it does. He also set up interviews with Brady, Campanile, and now Minter and Saleh I believe.
  19. This literally all I have when it comes to the Milwaukee Bucks: Well, that isn't quite all. I also had a Glenn Rivers inspired Haiku show up for me over early morning coffee:
  20. Nice signing for SF. Had Oliva not gotten injured in the first half he was trending toward a call-up. Does a lot of good things on the baseball diamond and has the speed to cover quite a bit of OF ground and cause havoc on the base paths (57-of-63 SB success rate). His 11 long balls were also a career high while only striking out 20% of the time in 398 PA's. A meaningful AAAA vet depth signing for the Giants.
  21. And with RHP Nick Mears no longer a Brewer, we see one of the former Brewers involved in the original acquisition has been DFA'd:
