    I absolutely love Pablo Reyes' game. He is such a fun player to watch. He was fantastic in the late season in 2021 for the Big Club when called upon. In addition to his defense (apparently, all over the diamond - what a set of diving plays in LF!), he's a fantastic baserunner. Yet, another example of the end-of-the-bench embarrassment of riches the Brewers have in Nashville. Hats off to the personnel staff, truly.

    Lost in the shuffle of that Carolina Puello induced blow-out is the fine work of Venezuelan starter Edwin Jimenez. The Puello outing was fairly disappointing given what we saw in his first outing of the year but, on the other side of things Jimenez was equally impressive. I made this comparison in the Game Thread last night: he has a lot of Mike Fiers to his approach. He doesn't have a lot of velo (probably touching a high of 90-91 on his heat), but his breaking stuff and off-speed stuff were really dialed making that heater look more formidable than it was and is (at present). He was working fast in the new pitch clock implementation with a really smooth delivery. And, perhaps most fun to watch, was how confident and 'gamer' he looked on the mound. I'm excited to track his progress into the season. It was a really good outing. He is 20 yo until late December of this year.

    I Heart Weston. I really do. I sincerely hope he gets a call up this season. He does anything and everything. His glove and his arm are truly fantastic and he does enough at the plate to merit spot duty with the Big Club. Agreed on the Brosseau sentiments.

    Emory Hunt is pretty incredible. If you've ever followed his stuff, he has an incredible depth of small school knowledge as he calls games and also scouts the lesser Bowl games. He also put out an insanely in-depth 1,000 page (!!) draft guide for 2022. Several really good points in this 17 minute video. Included are 4-6 extremely obscure (at least, to me) HBCU and Division II prospects Packers fans might be interested. The draft guide link, for some silly reason, isn't listed in the video description. BUT, here it is: Over 800 Prospect Profiles (Sheeeeesh) The website itself also screams: I watch tape and study prospects every day. LOL.

    I don't have the answers for any of this and it certainly has the look of a tough set of decisions - not to mention, I think what you lay out is perfectly depicted. BUT, what it does bring up for me is: the Brewers have an absolute embarrassment of riches when it comes to end of the bullpen and end of the bench options. If we look at the bullpen in Nashville: beside the struggling Rex Brothers, really, you could take your pick. Mejia and Perdomo, specifically, have been lights out and clearly have Big Club stuff. Then, you go positional and you have savvy AAA/AAAA veterans like Weston Wilson, Jon Singleton, Tyler White, David Dahl, and Garrett Whitley all showcasing the consistency and reliability that a Big League manager would love to add into the mix. These are good problems to have.

    Preach it @Tim Muma. It's hard to fathom what we have witnessed from Lauer since his return on that brief 2021 IL stint. You paint that picture quite well. What's his ceiling? Honestly, I think we might just be scratching the surface. He added a couple upticks in velo this off-season. He's worked in the slider to more effect. He has a legit 4-5 pitch Mix. It's uncanny how he has gone under the radar. For me, the question I legitimately and routinely ask myself these days is: Have both Houser and Lauer passed Freddy? Time will tell. We need seasons of consistency. What we've had, imho, is a taste.
