  1. With the Sounds up 6-0 in the 4th and Louisville leading Columbus 4-1, we have another shot to push the division lead to 4 1/2 games over those pesky Clippers. Let’s go get it!
  2. The Gas Man brought his Gas Can tonight! 3 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 5K, 0 R. Man I love love love watching this young man pitch. 37 P, 25 S.
  3. A Corey Ray long ball is followed by a Garrett Whitley double. Biloxi leads 1-0. That’s Ray’s 7th of his year. Knarr pitches a scoreless, one hit, first inning. Whitley later followed with a two-run jack plating Ray. Do you think he saw this pitch?
  4. Love the work I am seeing from both Weston Wilson and Patrick Dorrian in the Sounds playoff push. Both are swinging a much better bat in the most important month of the season. Both hit back-to-back doubles here in the 3rd inning to plate runs. 6-0 Sounds. Let’s go for those playoffs, men! Let’s get a trophy!
  5. I do love any version of the strike them out, throw them out double play. In inning two, Feliciano guns down a man on 2nd base and Gasser Mows down his second batter of the inning. Man, I have loved this young man’s mound presence from game 1 in the Brewers system. He just learns and adapts from start-to-start better than any pitcher in the system. He has 3 K, 1 H, 0 BB, 0 R through 2 IP. Sounds lead 4-0.

  7. I am completely down with the pitch clock having watched it all season in the Minor Leagues. It works and it brings a real added suspense in later innings when pitchers are charged auto-balls. I'm also very much into the PCL use (also being used in Charlotte in the second half) of the three dugout challenges to balls and strikes. You get 3 per game. If you win the challenge, you keep it. If you don't, you lose it. Instantaneous feedback from the auto strikezone. Really like it.
  8. It will be very interesting to see how the Sounds and Knights view tonight’s game. There was a lot, and I mean a lot of chirping going on between the two dugouts and then with the umpires after Hobie Harris went head level and inside after the 3-run Jack he gave up. Sweetie obviously didn’t agree with his reliever getting tossed there. At all. He was adamantly pointing at the Charlotte dugout before really ripping into the first base umpire - who seemed to be at the center of both coaching ejections and who quickly called the ump huddle after Harris’ pitch.

  10. Of the three listed, by my eye test, Valerio hits the ball the hardest by a fairly large margin. Pinero has had his moments, and is an incredibly talented fielder, but the consistency is all over the map in the batters box. Now, if we’re going to talk about extremely concerning seasons, however, I definitely reside in the “What in the heck happened to Gabe Holt?” I can honestly say I struggle to remember the last time he put a meaningful barrel on a ball. He’s had an extremely rough 2022.
  11. RHP Robbie Baker grabs the save and Terence Doston gets 2 home runs ?!? Wowsers. What a way to end that losing streak fellas!
  12. SO, the bottom of the 7th inning for all those interested and with MiLB.TV capacity begins at 2:48:57 on the replay. I'm going in now. All the aftermath happens after the three-run homer to left field bringing Charlotte within 5-3. Hobie throws a high inside heater, head level, about a foot from the batters face or so. Charlotte really doesn't like it. Throw happens at 2:58:10. They toss him out of the game at 2:59:10. That's how it goes down. LOL. It's worth a watch. I haven't seen Rick Sweet this ticked off all year. Whew. That was something. Then they got into it trying to let Jake Cousins warm up more in their bullpen. Awesome electricity. LOL.
  13. Sheeeesh, the Sounds have racked 17 hits tonight. It's now 10-4 with 2 down in the top of the 9th inning. A much needed flurry offensively.
  14. Oh my, Pedro Severino is on one! He just hit a solo blast to left center field and it's 9-4 Sounds. Let's go!
  15. Matt Lipka has followed up his first 2-HR night of his career with a 3-for-3 night - again in the 9-hole. Great stuff.
  16. This just in: Sal Frelick (26) and Joey Wiemer (15) have each extended their On Base streaks. They have absolutely risen to the occasion in Nashville. Makes a grown man proud.
  17. Sounds leading 8-3 and Louisville just tied up Columbus 6-6 in the bottom of the 9th - men on 1st and 2nd with nobody down. Let's get this done!
  18. Patrick Dorrian says, I got you Sweeite: Just jacked a solo HR and it's 6-3 Sounds. Let's go, men! Win this thing.
  19. I'm going to go back and watch that 7th inning. Hitting coach, Hobie, AND Sweetie? Yeeesh. Clearly they weren't happy. LOL Could have been some showing out? I'll report back when the game is done. I'm out n about right now.
  20. It is seriously hard to fathom how absolutely fantastic Corneille, Cruz, and Rodriguez have been since being called up to Wisconsin. Cornielle just following suit, again, tonight.
  21. Get Nashville back on track? We simply need some good ol' savvy Josh Lindbolm. Man, he's been really really good for 3-4 straight starts. Awesome stuff.
  22. Yuppers. A little bit like his first start, honestly. He has all that nasty stuff and, with it, he's going to have to learn how to harness it.
  23. They’re back warming up in Myrtle Beach. It looks like they’re going to get going
