  1. That was a very nice drive. Exactly what we're looking for. Efficient. Didn't force anything. Stretched that 3rd and goal play and almost made an incredible throw. More of that, please.
  2. These 7 inning games get me every time. I stepped out to do some farm chores and I see Mejia got the save with a clean bottom half of the seventh frame. Sounds take game 1, 6-5. That was a long slog after an exciting first couple innings.
  3. 6-5 Sounds now after Alexander gives up a solo shot, and then a force out and run scored. Onto the 7th inning. Gulp.
  4. Sixth walk. Man, this is just so ugly. What an ugly ugly inning. Yuck. Small has a lot of work to do this off-season. Until I see a breaking ball enter the mix with regularity and maybe even a fourth pitch, he trends as a middle inning reliever in my eyes. What we're seeing at the MLB level is supported with what we're seeing down here. Such a bummer.
  5. 5th walk. Four pitches. Bases juiced. 1 down.
  6. He just walked his fourth batter here on his 6th pitch. LOL. Those stats don't lie. And he followed it up with a wild pitch. Runners on 2nd and 3rd. One out. Still bottom of the 5th. 6-0 Sounds.
  7. We're now seeing a classic Florida rainstorm over the stadium. Sun and clear down the left field stands. Dark ominous clouds in the distance. Raining over the stadium. They're still playing as of now. 6-0 into the bottom of the fifth.
  8. Honestly, he has some mound presence glaring similarities. I never thought about that until you mentioned it. Good point.
  9. I find the most annoying thing with Ethan Small's ongoing walk fetish is the number of walks he commits after 0-2 or 1-2 counts. I am glad I don't track this stat. It's an ongoing problem.
  10. That's right, Daniel. Let's go Big Papa!?
  11. And, why the heck is Ruiz tossed there? That's utterly absurd. That was 100% ALL Henry provoking and having his big boy feelings hurt. Now you have a catcher playing 1 1/2 games. Yuck. Either way, wowsers. We don't see that often whatsoever in the lower levels. LOL.
  12. Which is ridiculous, honestly. 6-0 is not a big lead and bunt singles are a distinct part of Ruiz's game.
  13. SOMETHING was going on at home plate between Henry and Ruiz. I have no idea. It was a 1-0 count. Henry started lipping at Ruiz. Then stood up. Then tossed the mask. Ruiz dropped the bat. Henry went after him. Severino came roaring out of that dugout and broke that up in a big Papi kind of way. No swings were thrown but that was scrappy.
  14. WHOA! A bench clearing brawl!? Yikes.
  15. Yeah, he really poked that one. He's just really on a tear right now.
  16. Sal Frelick's first out is a laser-shot 100 mph line drive on a diving acrobatic snag by the Jump Shrimp second baseman. Man, he is on some kind of tear right now. That ball was laced. BTW, these are all coming off lefties today.
  17. Joey Wiemer just followed up his early strikeout with a 100 mph rope-shot double off the right field wall. Great to see Joey sitting back on that and taking it oppo.
  18. I'm going to 'guess' Chourio's elbow injury is related to his full out sprawling diving catch in shallow center field. That was a heck of a grab. I'm going to tell myself that until I hear otherwise. I still can't believe we didn't get a clip of that web gem. His best catch all season.
  19. It's quite something to be watching the Ethan Small pitch - back-to-back - to C Payton Henry and then INF Luis Aviles Jr. I'm in the Brewers Time Machine.
  20. And here I was feeling melancholy Garrett Mitchell has been off the line-up card for two consecutive games. LOL. Hopefully, I'll see him in the second game.
  21. Turang with a 3-run Ding Dong off the RF foul pole. That's all 5 rbi's to Brice. What's that about power? 102 mph off the bat. I keep telling y'all...he is just starting to tap into his power. The swing is so easy. That was a first-pitch blast after a 12-pitch first AB
  22. Frelick just reached base again. That's now 5-for-5 in this series with two walks to boot. Sheeeesh.
  23. Boy, I'm starting to get reallly comfortable watching Frelick, to Ruiz, to Turang. I want to watch these young men grow together in Milwaukee.
  24. Erick Reyes had a day at first base for the DSL Brewers 2 he'll most likely want to forget: 3 errors - two missed catches and a fielding error (that appears to have led to the first two runs). Ouch.
  25. It’s officially ‘Monsoon Season’ in the Southwest. Both ACL games cancelled by rain. The dry lands breathe sweet relief. Whoever picks up all these doubleheaders for their Link Report…might sigh a bit heavily.
