  1. Hats off are in order for the previously maligned Carolina bullpen. A great job all around keeping the game manageable and close. In total, between Rodgriuez, Brustoski, and Tietz: 5 complete ip, 2 ER (all to Rodriguez in his 2 1/3 ip), 3 hits, 2 bb, 1 HBP, and 10 punch outs. What a win!
  2. Mr. Trevor Tietz had a word or two to the baseball after his past two outings. He had a little breather and some time to reflect on how dominant he was early in the season coming in with runners aboard and helping out the team in a Big Way. Trevor k's the side after surrendering a smart walk to the dangerous 2-hitter, Tucker Mitchell. With two down, he locked and loaded after runners stole 2nd and 3rd. Heck of a close for the young man and a BIG comeback win for our youngsters down in Zebulon! 6-4 is the Final.
  3. Eduarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdo Garcia with the 2-run double to left field knocks in Raabe and Cipion (who knocked his fifth double of the year to advance Raabe to third after the force out groundout to open the 10th). Eduardo's 6th double on the year. His 5th rbi on the afternoon. AND, it's 6-4 Mudcats with one down in the top of the 10th!
  4. Alright then Jakob! The kind and supportive words of @Mass Haas must have gotten you trending back in a better way! With a lead off hit batter, followed by a ground out to 2nd, that runner stole third. He gets the punch out for out 2. The runner still on 3rd base, he walks the next batter after working a 3-0 count full. He ends his inning with yet another strikeout. It's an all or nothing affair with Mr. Brustoski at present but he sure can strike a batter out when he is hitting the zone. He goes 1.2 ip with 4 k, the walk and the hit batter. On to the top of the 10th!
  5. Oh man, Jakob opens the Bottom of the ninth with a HBP and batter One is aboard. ? Let's hope he can find that form from the Bottom of the 8th inning or we might be in for a familiar hiccup.
  6. With two down Vargas crushes a HR to deep Center on a 1-0 count. Oh baby, it's 4-4. Let's Go!
  7. Hey now, well done Jakob! No walks. 2 punch outs. Nice bouncback for him in a possibly important spot. On to the top of the ninth for the Mudcats. Perez, Chirinos, and Vargas on tap to try and start a comeback victory parade for the Mudcats. They are currently 0-9 on the day.?
  8. Jakob Brustoski coming on trying to keep it close with one down. Let's hope the Lefty can find more of the strikezone - he's suffered from a case of the walks and bean balls in his early outings. We're pulling for you Jakob.
  9. Eduardo currently a 2 for 4 day with his second HR of the season (Wahooo!), all 3 rbi's, and NO K's. Big day for the youngster. I love it. Mudcats trail 3-4 here in the Bottom of the 8th. They put up those 3 runs in the top half. Let's put those rally caps on!
  10. Zavi has been great the past 10 games. A true bright spot. We are now suffering through prolonged absences from Valerio, Ernesto Martinez, and Tyler Black. I'm sad. ?
  11. I have to think that recent 6-game pause for Campbell may have something to do with his untimely and uncharacteristic error that cost his team the game in the early part of the series. It really was one of those errors that left you scratching your head as a fan. Get the head straight. Regroup. And get back to it kind of thing. Here's hoping for many fine moments for Noah in this one!
  12. Ever day I simply offer that good mojo to Eduardo Garcia that he may take a ball four and have a clean slate of no strikeouts at the plate. May today be that day!?
  13. Also, having watched near 3/4 the Wahoo vs Shucker knocks in the early season, I may have to submit a formal declaration to the Marlins: We really would all benefit from a Joey Wiemer and Jerar Encarnacion corner outfield tandem - or, in the very least, when Wiems is manning RF Jerar can man 1B (as he’s done in the past).. They both have absolute cannons for arms. Both are underestimated athletes who have much better rnge than you’d expect, and both prospects can absolutely rake. I essentially feel like my inner 12 yo fan boy holding their baseball cards and trying to manifest an Alliance in the same Brewer clubhouse.?

  15. When I tune in to Nashville games, it is legitimately as close to an extension of a Big League club as you can get. The Brewers have not been this deep on the fringes since I can remember. Ther are so many worthy candidates for a call-up it’s almost unfair. Watching the mic’d up clip there, it’s also very clear these men are comfortable with the game; their games; and each other. Cam Devanney is an early season contender for ‘Most Surprising Player’. The bat has been night and day better since 2021 and you already know you are getting an extremely good glove and arm at the hot corner. I am very excited about his development. Hopefully, we can see a resurgence in play from Zamora, Dillard, Holt and McGee at some point and the team could really start rocking.

  17. It’s uncanny isn’t it? BUT it is literally the exact same thing with the Bucks. They get zero love from the mainstream media outlets. It is what it is.
  18. Long Snapper competition: Thank the Football Gods!? More on Kaye here: (From this Yahoo article: Here)
  19. If I'm not mistaken (and I certainly could be), we held onto Godley as a 40-Man guy and lost a prospect as a result? I remember going through kind of a head-scratcher moment there. Was it a Rule 5 guy? Man, my memory fails me.
  20. I can second this. Actually, when I first started posting on 'Brewer Fan' @TURBO privately reached out to me and encouraged me to keep posting. He didn't have to encourage me (and, now, I post too much ?). But, I've always seen him as one of the straight shooters who is willing and capable of articulating a POV but certainly not overly negative whatsoever - he also doesn't bully anyone or offend while doing so. His retort to you @Brock Beauchamp, which was quite calm and reasoned, supports my point me thinks. And, both of you men, from my humble vantage point, have proven time and again you can see a disagreement for what it is and not take it personally or re-approach it in a new way and move on. Anyhow, both of you are assets to this online community and I appreciate you for it.
  21. I'm going through my post-draft highlight ritual to ride the High. Given I'm more excited about this Packer haul than I ever have been post-draft. I'm finding drool-worthy clips and analysis across the board. LOL. Post-pick, Rock Larry McCarren discussed JJ's 'heavy hands'. You see it here: Christian Watson is simply an insane athlete. I said it after the pick. I'll say it again. He's a Unicorn: (Full rep at game speed in thread) And, some Zach Tom love:
  22. The over-arching theme of the Big Club and AAAA club is: there are many valid options to fill the fringes. I've touched on this before. It's a very very good problem to have. And, honestly, I'm glad I don't have to make the decisions. I would also add: when you're 15-7 and bats are waking up there has to be an element of: If it it aint broke, don't fix it (anywhere). The Sounds took two from the Saints today, for instance, and are now up 3-2 in that series on the road and are 15 or 16-7 overall (I can't remember exactly and am too lazy to look it up) and lead their entire league in ERA. We have an embarrassment of riches to play around at the fringes. And with Turang now playing two weeks straight of smashmouth realllllllly good baseball and the stellar performances of David Dahl and Tyler White, we are just in a very very good spot. I am enjoying every minute of it.
  23. It truly pains me to trounce the Cubby Bear in consecutive games. Poor lil' fellas.
  24. Carlos Luna works hard in another start and keeps his squad in the game. He nibbles and often isn't given the benefit of the zone and suffers walks for it, but he left after 4 with only one run surrendered. 4 walks and 3 hits. Wiemer has another 2 rbi's for 17 on the season. Cam Devanney continues his fine early season with his first dinger. 9-1 Biloxi after a six spot on the board in the bottom of the sixth.
  25. Wisconsin trailing 10-1 late in Peoria. This has been a rough series for the Rattlers.
