And the Sounds strand them full for the second time. He gets the K in relief of Cargo. 0-0 on to the 5th. Meanwhile Adamczewski just walked. That's a single and a BB in lead-off. Fine work. -
That's three K's on the four-seamer. That one belt high inside. He won't finish the inning but he gets his 2nd out via K (second consecutive). Called at 74 pitches and his night is done at 3 2/3 IP. Sweetie will go with a Lefty-on-Lefty match-up with Macjiceiweski getting the nod

Funnily enough, I am used to this version of Cargo over the years. He's touching 93-94mph when he dials back on the four-seamer. I guess I'm used to Cargo losing his stuff randomly in any outing. 😅

And, nowhere close in the next AB we are in Cargo Dejà vú. A four pitch walk to load the bases. These Cargo blow outs happen in a hurry and they tend to happen like this when he suddenly loses everything.

First base traffic for Cargo since the first frame. He opens his 4th inning with a single to LF and now walks another batter. Men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody out.

Home plate ump just called out Tyler Rodriguez on a pitch clock violation in a 1-2 count. Thing is Caminiti hadn't really gotten to the rubber so Tyler was waiting to align his entry to his early set up. Just a stupid call by the ump. Absolutely just searching for a reason to make a signal.

Sounds strand Avans. Fly out to RF Oliva. Black K's swinging for the second time. Dalbec grounds out to deep SS.

Augusta is on the board first tonight. 1-0. Single up the middle past a diving Adamczewski. SB (no throw). SB (close play at 3B). Ground out RBI to 1B. Smith sees no more damage with a final out groundout to Made at SS. On to the 2nd.

Another 1-2-3 frame for Cargo. Two more weak fly outs - once again to shallow LF for SS Freddy Zamora and then to shallow RF for Jared Oliva. Then closes his third frame with a 93 mph rising four-seamer above the zone for a K. Six consecutive retired. 0-0 and we go to the 4th. Muddies stranded two - Bitonti shallow fly out to LF and Jose Anderson swinging 1-2 K on a heater up and in. Wichrowski also went 1-2-3. Two groundouts and a K swinging.

This ongoing Pensacola sole camera angle behind home plate gives me eerie 2024 early Shuckers vibes. Yuck.

Shuckers go three up three down. Made K's swinging. Peña pulls a line drive single into LF and we have two aboard with one down.

Adamczewski, leading off for the second consecutive game @ Augusta, opesn with a lefty-on-lefty 1-1 single up the middle of the infield.

Sounds just aren't taking any pitches. Two outs through the top of the 3rd. SWB starter sitting 25 pitches. Lottttta quick outs. Zamora deep fly to the LF warning track for an out. First pitch ground out for Delgado. Two pitch line out for Kahle. SWB starter at 26 pitches through 3 IP.

Sounds go 3-up and 3-down yet again in their 2nd. Cargo with a much better effort himself going 1-2-3. Fly out to 3B/LF foul territory run down by Dalbec. High chopper ground out to EMJ at 1B. Shallow pop out to LF - SS Zamora calls it and easily brings it in. on to the 3rd. 0-0.

RHP Carlos Rodriguez is picking up where he left off last outing early in SWB. Hard hit line drive single. HB. BB. If he didn't snag a hard hit come backer for a DP (got runner at 1B) this inning would already be ugly. As it is, we have two on and two down and he falls behind yet again to the next batter. Ugly.

Sounds open game 2 with three up and three down. Ground outs off the bats of Avans and Oliva with Tyler Black striking out swinging on three pitches.

Last season we saw Blake Burke on August 10th. Hardin didn't appear until late August. Payne in September before the playoffs. Mason Molina late August. You get the point. I imagine we will see Fisher some time in those first two weeks of August. If we see Ebel it will likely he similar to Payne - ie September. College pitchers, when they pass those Complex baselines, once again likely start appearing in late August. Given the T-Rats are nowhere near the playoff picture, it's all going to come down to how they envision structuring that Carolina pitching staff with the massive amount of youth they currently have throughout that roster. I imagine, at some point, the org will send Hodges to Wisconsin to open a spot for a college arm. Trades over the next 24 hours may impact the inflows of new talent as well.

Chourio is indeed shelved today - Murphy said he was quite sore and they are hoping to avoid an IL stint. If the Brewers can't find anyone on the open market (for whatever reasons) I would say, in addition to having a healthy Perkins, both Jared Oliva and Daz Cameron continue to produce at Nashville. Obviously, Cameron is a bat first guy - he continues to be absolutely incredible for the Sounds and recently had a torrid 8-game RBI streak. Oliva is a jack of everything and is regaining his earlier form since coming back from injury. Plus defender. Has some pop. Incredibly fast. Susceptible to the off-speed pitch. Dalbec would be the final candidate as a fill-in corner OF guy who happens to play 3B and 1B. Obviously, the concern here is his swing and miss and never putting it together at the MLB level as of yet. Again, this is if they can't find a dancing partner in a deal that makes sense and this is solely if Chourio has to visit the IL to heal that hammy.

No worries. To me, this writing has been on the wall for most of this season. When Jadher wasn't placed at Double-A - regardless of prospect traffic jams; heck, they chose Jheremy Vargas over Areinamo. I think we all know Vargas isn't half the player Jadher is - and then the org repeatedly used the same talking points about swing decisions etc. it led me to believe (and, this has been vetted in certain back channels) there may have been something else going on with the player. I'll just leave it at that. I wish him all the best. He's an extremely fun player to watch play the game. Double-A will be a very very real test for Him.

Why are you tagging me here? I liked the trade. I don't and didn't consider it an overpay. It's good for the player (change of scenery and immediately promoted to Double-A Montgomery) and it's a depth upgrade for the Brewers in what has turned into a fascinating season. Now we'll all get to see how Jadher's swing mechanics play in a tougher environment with older more savvy pitchers. The Shuckers play Montgomery the last week in August. He will join old friend, and fellow 21-year-old, former T-Rats and Brewers INF Gregory Barrios.

This Vaughn heater reminds me of ol' Bob 'Hurricane Hazle' for the Milwaukee Braves in the late 1950's. Howard M. Tuckner, of the NY Times, wrote of his heater at the time: My dad was 10 years old at the time. He still talks about Hazle's run. You can bet Vaughn's heater has him talking about Hazle yet again. OH, also this: 😅
