  1. Yeah, that looked not good. At all. Man, these injuries hurt me every time. We've suffered so many the past few years with guys we love on the fringes. This one hurts. Bryant is absolutely One of my favorite bullpen arms in the system. When he is right? He is filthy. There is a price to pay all too many times. Just brutal.
  2. I think targeting some meaningful depth and help at 1B/3B and in the bullpen makes sense. I personally don't think the Brewers need to make resoundingly big moves. But, I also wouldn't begrudge them one iota if they sought to grab top of the shelf rentals for a post-season run. I don't think you can turn a blind eye as an org but I also don't think messing with the clubhouse chemistry makes all that much sense either. In other words: I have absolutely no idea. 😅 I love this Vaughn story at present - we caught lightning in a bottle at the dish. But, I continue to have major doubts this type of production lasts and I have major concerns about his defense (as seen in that inexplicable botched catch after yet another incredible play by Joey Ortiz). He's a great story now. I wouldn't rely on it lasting into the post-season in any shape or fashion.
  3. Three consecutive sweeps. Two consecutive sweeps vs the Dodgers. What a time to be alive. With a system overflowing with talent, the Brewers are truly set up to bolster their weaknesses and make a legitimate run at this thing. What an incredible run they are on! Here's hoping Arnold and the personnel staff press the right buttons. 👏
  4. I don't disagree with you. He obviously has power and has had moments where he has accessed the power but he certainly hasn't done so in a consistent manner. I agree on the swing and miss as well - certainly not Wes Clarke problematic but he misses more in the zone than we'd like. However, I think we can also point to numerous times in the past several seasons when prospects have been promoted when their underlying numbers might say they should have stayed in their respective levels. Burke is at least hitting even if we are looking for a different quality. Did Murray 'deserve' his original call up? Did Zamora 'deserve' the Triple-A call up? For me, Burke would qualify first and foremost as a numbers game replacement promotion - ie if a Warren, for example, got a call up or Adams is out much longer than anticipated. Regardless, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he got the call. And, as you are pointing out, it also wouldn't surprise me in the least if he spent the entire year in Wisconsin. It also wouldn't surprise me in the least if he was traded at the Deadline. If anyone truly deserves the call-up from the T-Rats, that person continues to be Jadher for me - who also may be traded at the deadline 😅. I think we're just in that liminal stage where the draft signings and the deadline simply need to pass before we actually have any semblance of clarity.
  5. Letson's original injury was considered mild shoulder discomfort. He was set to come off the IL, was throwing early week successful bullpen sessions (they even spoke about it in the T-Rats podcast) at the time. He was scheduled to come off IL and pitch on a Saturday. And, here we are. Clearly, his body - and, more importantly, his throwing shoulder - did not respond favorably enough after those early bullpen sessions. Obviously a real bummer but we never got further updates or news beyond that early road to recovery hiccup.
  6. Black a replacement for Collins?!😅 Collins grades out as possibly the best defensive LF'er in the game. He grades out as having the best jumps in all of MLB. He also finds ways to impact games with his bat. At Black's current level of play, he is a pinch runner and a very infrequently used fill-in whereby you hope he doesn't hurt you. In that regard, maybe he gets some opportunities as a DH or a PR? Spot fill-in MLB emergency player who happens to be on the 40-Man. Could he surprise us? Absolutely - he has the talent somewhere in there that got him on the 40-Man to begin with. He just hasn't been all that good for quite awhile, sadly. He offers nowhere near the defensive level of a Collins (or anyone else on the Brewers roster, sadly). He is hitting slightly better of late which is refreshing but that is also considering he has had a very rough time since coming off the IL. I used to be one of Black's biggest supporters on our Forums. He isn't even a Top 20 prospect for me any longer until he shows me some semblance of something consistently.
  7. Goodness that is a pretty swing. That action and pop at the point of attack leads me to believe there just may be more line drive power in there than was originally prognosticated.
  8. T-Rats got to take a lil bit of their second half frustrations out tonight. They lead 10-0 headed to the 9th inning. Oh hey! Areinamo with his second long ball in two nights - his 11th on the season. Lottttta cheddah in this box score. Tayden Hall hit his 2nd and 3rd HR of his season (man alive, it pains me how he can't get more consistent loft on the ball with his athleticism and pretty swing): Is RHP Manuel Rodriguez back back? 5.0 IP scoreless. 1 H, 2 BB, 3 K. Really nice 2.0 IP of 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K work from LHP Anthony Flores.
  9. Lovely comeback by the Muddies to win their second in a row 3-2. RHP Jose Nova even pitched a clean 9th frame for the Save! You love to see it. I'm telling you: Nova absolutely has goods. He simply needs to learn how to harness it (as if we haven't said that about certain someones in Carolina/Wisconsin over the past two seasons - lol).
  10. Kuehner has legitimate starting potential - sure, he may be a bullpen arm when all is said and done but it would trend toward a multi-inning arm. Anyone who sits 93-94 mph but can cork back and touch 95-to-97 mph with his arm side run as a lefty is going to get serious run as a starter until that train falls off the tracks. He has a near side arm release - by my eyes it's beyond the 3/4 slot to a near sidearm hence his run really plays and he can fade it too. Two heaters. I personally don't worry about his current zonal 'issues'. They aren't absurd and he is a pitcher that very very well appears to be a guy who could just 'click' with an off-season of learning how to attack in the mold of, say, a Brandon Woodruff. His stuff moves so much I think he pitches near his targets but the pitches move and he just misses. He's still growing. He has a really nice change-up that plays off both heaters - he can really use it to dominate righties. He has also separated his slider and curve into two separate pitches. To think he is just a MLB reliever is short-sighted. You don't get the whiff rates he does as a starter and not get serious play. He'll very likely be in Triple-A and trying to knock on the doorstep in 2026. He is absolutely trending in all the right ways. He's 24. Next year will be his age 25 season.
  11. All good. I only do because I was legitimately shocked at what I was witnessing - in the best way possible. Absolutely stoked for him.
  12. Ryan Birchard's walk rate is brutal - 6.62/9 IP. Kuehner's walk rate is not ideal - 4.69/9 IP. In 2023, for example, the Southern League average BB/9 was actually 4.70.
  13. He hit 3 HR in his first 24 AB at Biloxi. If that's taking a bit to adjust, I can't wait to see what a quick adjustment looks like. Equally as impressive as his consistent production at Biloxi at the dish has been his sudden other-wordly ability to throw runners out attempting to steal. We are legitimately watching a different player than we saw at both Carolina and Wisconsin and I am absolutely here for it.
  14. Really nice to see Yophery bounce back with a big July - 10 game hitting streak. Hitting 0.361 with a 1.034 on the month over 36 AB. The transition has not been smooth for Rodriguez as his season-long numbers quite easily indicate but it's nice to see such a quality young man experiencing high-end success once again. RHP John Holobetz has pitched 52.0 innings for the same High-A Greenville Drive (as Rodriguez). The 22-year-old is giving up a 0.268 BAA but has struck out 54 while walking a mere 8. Whip is healthy at 1.21 with a 3.29 ERA over his 10 appearances (9 Starts). The Sox took RHP Marcus Phillips (Tennessee) with the 33rd Comp A pick the Brewers also sent. WIth Priester pitching the way he has, with the improvements we have consistently seen, I think in retrospect we all have to be extremely happy with this trade. I, for one, acknowledge my early opinions aged like curdled milk. I will happily eat my crow.
  15. I voted for the first time in some time. Our 20-through-30 will very easily outperform the 1-through-20 several weeks (if not more) over the course of a season. Also: We have to start putting INF Filippo Di Turi down as a voting option. He is perhaps the most slept on prospect in our entire system. He put all his Full-Season transition questions to bed for me and then some in 2025. He's quite easily become one of my favorite players in the system. Seemingly always available and can defend quite well throughout the left side of the infield - really coming on at 3B, for example. Developing power. Disciplined. Switch hitting bat. He's had a really tough July after cooling off in June but what he's done for me in 2025 is entrenched belief. I believe in the quality of player. I'm not letting this cold spell color my thinking. This is different than 2024.
  16. He's a 'sophomore' now! Saw action in 11 games as a 'Freshman' - caught 2 passes for 29 yards and even recovered an onside kick. Earned a place on the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. We expect even bigger and better things for Harrison in 2025/2026. He'll turn 30 in August.
  17. Oh right! We also have a LHP Robert Gasser beginning his rehab. The current embarrassment of riches amongst the starting ranks is a beautiful thing. Let's hope he hits the rehab ground running with little to no setbacks and he can build up that tantalizing arsenal.
  18. You have to begrudgingly love how difficult these Top 20 Votes are getting. This is an absurdly solid Top 20 at present. This vote is brutal.
  19. What is Priester's FIP after tonight? Absolutely incredible to see him knock his ERA down to 3:33 in such dominant fashion.
