    I mean our manager publicly admitted to essentially dumpster diving pizza slices out of Hotel boxes - other peoples' pizza - to take them to the ballpark, roll em up like a sammy, and eat said cold slices during the game. He does not care what you or I think. He is utterly 100% confident in his own skin. He knows who he is. He lives and dies for his team. I know I have gone mildly apoplectic (and I can not promise I won't go that route again) with his bullpen management. But, how can we not embrace Him as the leader of our Pirate Ship of overachievers?!? A treasure.

    2-for-15 with RISP didn't prevent the DSL Brewers Gold from pulling out a 5-3 victory. OF Kenny Fenelon went yard for his third Johnson in a 1-for-5, 1 R, 2 RBI performance. Lead-off 2B, Juan Martinez, dazzled again with a 3-for-4, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 SB day pushing his season BA to 0.324 with a 0.991 OPS in 169 PA's. He is improving in every category since last season - across the board, really - and will likely be in the Complex by next summer (if not sooner).

    Carlos Done went yard again today. 5 long balls on his season now. Nice to see the mini power surge over the past month. DSL Brewers Blue earned 12 BB in a 14-3 victory. 17-year-old Nicaraguan Diustin Mayorquin continues to make a stateside case with his 4.0 IP of 0 H, 0 BB, 4 K work picking up the Save in the process. Mayorquin truly has been impressive for a 17-year-old first year hurler. That was his first SVO and he already possesses a 2-1 record in 4 GS and 41 2/3 IP total. 42 K and a 1.10 WHIP with a 2.59 ERA? Just solid solid work.

    BUMP: Fowler was officially assigned to the ACL Brewers yesterday. Hopefully the familiarization process is smooth and he is placed in a full-season pitching staff before season's end.

    Hey, he's been good. For his age, he absolutely belongs. He's still stealing some bases as well at a favorable rate. He's making the occasional web gem. I am merely speaking to my own perceptions of how I viewed the players trajectory. It's going to take longer than I anticipated - this season was more a challenge for the player than I anticipated in other words. This is a player who I legitimately felt - heading into the season - had a realistic and likely opportunity to be a September call up. He was certainly being called up to Nashville at this time. Did I envision one of my absolute favorites in INF Ethan Murray outplaying him? Absolutely not. Hence, my Chourio remarks initially - he truly spoiled us all. At face value, with age as a distinct factor and League, he is having a solid season. However, with a player of his ilk and reputation, I was expecting more. I personally think that's a very fair remark. And, to be clear, it in now way means I don't absolutely love the player.

    Fair question. If it's the same LHP Bryan Hudson we've seen over the past year - the same One with a well- earned 6.00+ ERA in Nashville - with consistently lower velo and the same walk habits? One would gather it won't sting much. I can count on one hand the number of relief outings where I thought dominant Hudson was back. It's a sad downtrend from a player who was legitimately lights out in early 2024. But it is a prolonged downtrend.

    Great summation, Jack. My only concern, and maybe you can clarify this with your clubhouse access, is this solely a cash exchange whereby the Brewers take on $2 Million in Montgomery's salary owes or is there actually a serious PTBNL stipulation embedded in the contract language? I personally realllllly don't want a random late season Handelfry Encarnacion like player headed to Arizona. Not after we all randomly experienced the loss of one RHP John Holobetz late in the Priester trade. It would be helpful to know the actual likelihood.

    What are you even talking about or are you simply operating via emotions? He has been throwing bullpens for over two weeks. He is on the precipice of an extended bout of rehab work. He is trending toward playing within the next three weeks.

    What's doubly cool about that moment is (not seen in the clip but if you stayed in the Live feed you saw glimpses of it) just after the walk off as things settled down some, Burke was seen chatting it up with ol' Shuckers manager and now roving Infield instructor throughout the org Mike Guerrero for a spell. They were clearly talking shop. Got the feels. The beat goes on.

    As I love to say (becuz it's true): The Box Score rarely tells the tale. I sprinkle the Burke doubters with a bit of zesty: Hit a nice fading gapper that Chourio simply made an incredible play on last night. That 102 mph liner was obviously a two-bagger under normal circumstances. We take it in stride. He's had bad luck this month to boot. There's no doubt. That moment was awesome.

    Gull dern that was an awesome moment. SO happy for Blake. Been a rough July. Suffered a bit of bad luck last night on a gapper. Hits the 102 mph walk off to the warning track. You have to beam with joy for the player and the man. Get it, Blake.
