  1. Oh I don't care to learn ahead of time. I am more explaining that 12 runs are scored from the 7th inning on. That's wild. I'm in the bottom of the 7th now. Men on 1st and 2nd. 3-0 count. One down. Looks like Rivera getting worked on the bump after that walk bases are juiced. 1-1 count and he just absolutely hangs one dead center. Yeah. Comes back and fires a high heater about a foot above the zone up and in. 10-1 Muddies deficit. AND, he walks the next batter. And, Stanley is going to do that Stanley thing here: eat this outing for the squad.
  2. It's 6-1 Mudcats trailing in the top of the 7th!😅
  3. Back from rooster wrangling and farm chores. I am greeted with RHP Yerlin Rodriguez allowing his 7th and 8th inherited runnners of his season to score in 13 total runners inherited. Yeeesh. They scored in typical fashion: WP and a behind the count hanger double. Back to pitch shape: if you want to see the importance of 'tunneling' because Yerlin can't consistently tunnel anything he can't unleash his full toolkit. He is a consummately restrained wild pitcher. Incredible raw stuff. Can't use it.
  4. Sounds threatening in the 8th. Down 2-0. They now have the bases juiced with nobody out after Zamora's walk. Looks like a pitching change is coming.
  5. RHP Justin Yeager on in the 8th trying to keep a 1-0 game a 1-0 game just gave up a deep ball over the LF wall. Belt high heater. Yeager continues to be hit-and-miss of late. 2-0 Shuckers trail.
  6. RHP Dikember Sanchez appears to be on to something in his ongoing Low-A work. Hit a batter. Walk a batter. Catch them stealing. Walther catches his second SB attempt of his fifth frame after Sanchez first hit a batter and then walked a batter on 5 pitches. The second runner had it stolen but did his best Durbin and overslid the bag. Interesting new angle from Sanchez here. Given his season, this may be his best approach?
  7. Different pitcher on the bumb. Walther nabs the first SB attempt. 1-for-5 today for Walther. Big out. Lead-off HBP off the board.
  8. Delmarva is 4-for-4 SB vs the Meccage/Walther battery. Man on seoncd base bottom of 4. 10 Delmarva hits to 3 hits for the Mudcats. AND, another XBH off Meccage. A stand up triple for Nate George. 6-1 Shorebirds. George is a HR away from the cycle. Absolutely owning Meccage.
  9. Stalling just gave up a two run bomb over the RF wall and suddenly the Shrimp lead 2-0. Booooo! 412 feet to deep RF. No doubt about it.
  10. Doesn't get the out but SS Jesus Made continues to shine. Another absolute web gem of a play deep in the 3B hole on the LF grass. my word. 2:10:25 for anyone wanting to see our bourgeoning Five Tool Wizard.
  11. A weak grounder skips off the diving Baez's glove and just makes it into LF scoring Quad Cities' second run. The T-Rats trail 2-0 headed to their half of the third frame.
  12. T-Rats now trail 1-0 in the third frame after a double high off the LF wall and a high relay throw Home from 1B Blake Burke. Better throw up the 3B line likely gets that runner but it would have been bang-bang regardless.
  13. We are in the middle innings across the board outside of Wisconsin. The affiliates have scored 1 run combine. Add in T-Rats? One run combined. This is very much an offensively challenged night so far.
  14. José Anderson walks give me 'the Feels'. He gets aboard to lead off the 4th. Nobody down for Di Turi. Muddies still trail 5-1.
  15. Hardin saw men get aboard on 2nd and 3rd with one down. He gave up the sac fly to CF but struck out the last batter for an escape. 1-0 Shuckers trail.
  16. IF you feel so inclined to see the incredibly diverse top shelf athleticism from one C Marco Dinges...just go watch the pop fly out he snares in foul territory just up the 3B line with the runner sprinting just past his face mask. may have grazed him - definitely took an arm. He is just so suave. Unbelievable grab by my eyes to keep that focus. He made it look easy. It was essentially a shoestring grab for all intents and purposes given the fly by. Starts 1:19:01 on the replay. Big play. Bases juiced. Two down for Flores who had some tough luck to get their (all on with two outs)
  17. Man that was an incredible grab by Made. He just keeps coming on in all the ways outside the box score. I'm deadpan serious. He is a way better player today than early April despite the lack of gaudier XBH numbers some might need to feel rosier. I personally feel 10x more confident today than in April. Complete player
  18. Chris Mehring did just confirm in the broadcast: C Marco Dinges subbed himself out Sunday in the 105F heat. He called 'Uncle'.Three up and three down for the T-Rats. Meanwhile, Jesus Made continues to showcase why he is being lauded for his improved defense. He just snared a weak liner surely headed to shallow LF and then picks the runner off at 1B having left on the contact. Heck of a play. Meccage escapes down 5-1.
  19. Meccage gives up another double in the 2nd. One down. Man on 2nd. He is already behind 2-0 yet again. AND with Made shading toward 2B the batter pokes an oppo grounder through the hole. Runner scores. 5-1 Shorebirds. I think we will officially call this Meccage outing 'Rough'.
  20. If I had a nickel for every first pitch I've seen INF Juan Baez swing at I'd likely have a couple bucks. Baez is nothing if not aggressive. He grounds out weakly to 3B on the, you guessed it, first pitch he faced in the bottom of the first.
  21. After two hard hit fly outs, Luis Lameda patiently walks on four pitches. Can C Yannic Walther come through?
  22. No matter! Double-A C Matt Wood is here to throw him out at 2B immediately upon the SB attempt. Beautiful throw. Maybe an even better tag by Pratt. Bang-bang play. On to the 4th. 0-0.
  23. Meanwhile, Pratt with a really poor error to put a runner on with two down in Hardin's third. Just a lazy error. Ugh. As routine as it gets.
  24. RHP Garrett Stallings continues to 'Wow' me in 2025. He really can not pitch any better than he is pitching. I mean this. Just in total control of his mix. He has 3 K through 2 2/3 IP. Just grabbed a swinging missing K on a gorgeous slider. 0-0 game.
  25. Meccage 'escapes' on a K after his 33rd pitch. Hardin opens his 3rd frame with a swinging K on a change-up that tailed below the zone (beautiful pitch - set him up perfectly.) 0-0 through 2 1/3 IP.
