  1. I've been told this is a thing the forum likes so if you look at the toolbar in the editor, you'll see "Sa" to the right of the font tools. This is the sarcasm button. If you highlight text and click Sa, the system automatically turns your font blue. Enjoy! I love the Yankees
  2. That’s exactly what we do over at Twins Daily, actually. It’s really not difficult, I usually take 30 seconds each morning to move the game thread to the game thread archive forum.
  3. @young guns @Samurai Bucky Turns out the editor already had spoilers, I just hadn't enabled them. I only had space to do it on the desktop editor, though. The eyeball icon is spoilers.
  4. Added to the task list!
  5. Unfortunately, one of the few things this software doesn't have is global posts. I wish it did. Maybe we think about moving the game threads to the Brewers forum permanently?
  6. The joke almost writes itself but it’s still funny.
  7. While signing free agents is nice, given how good the Brewers are at development, I’m more concerned with seeing them keep what they have.
  8. There's more to it than the NL West parks, actually, though that's also a factor. Studies have been done that long-term Rockies hitters really suffer on road trips, particularly early in road trips. Just as Rockies pitchers suffer from breaking balls not breaking at altitude, hitters suffer from seeing different pitch mixes and breaking ball tendencies between Coors and road parks. I'd have to dig up the study but there is a significant detriment to Rockies hitters in the first few games of a road trip. On a long home stand, Rockies hitters tend to see a lot of fastballs that move differently and they get into bad habits. Then they hit the road and see a bunch of breaking balls that move a lot more. The adjustment is difficult for hitters, just as it's difficult for pitchers. Using either home or road stats to project Rockies hitters is a mistake, as their true talent level usually sits somewhere in between the two.
  9. I don't really understand that deal from Story's perspective. I think the Twins, Yankees, or Astros would have offered similar deals and he wouldn't have to switch positions or deal with the fallout of replacing Bogaerts. I think Story will do quite well away from Coors and wouldn't hesitate to give him that deal.
  10. Remember, I'm a Twins fan. I have little patience for you Brewers fans complaining about postseason futility. AT LEAST YOU WON A GAME ?
  11. Yeah, the Braves were a really good example of "going for it" while bargain shopping. Their trophy is a real testament to how random baseball is in short series and how you just really need to get lucky on top of being good. If you put the 2021 Braves against the 2021 Brewers in 100 games, I think the Brewers win at least 51 of those games. If you put the 2021 Braves against the 2021 Dodgers in 100 games, I think the Dodgers win at least 60 of those games.
  12. Can't watch this one because I'm waiting for the free MLB.tv package from T-Mobile...
  13. Especially considering that the TC metro is 50% larger than MKE. The Brewers aren't cheap in comparison to the Twins, if anything I'd argue they spend more and better than Minnesota.
  14. Our long national nightmare is over and baseball has returned* *To Arizona and Florida Lineups: MIL Ethan Small L 0-0 .00 ERA 2B J. Peterson L SS Willy Adames R LF C. Yelich L RF H. Renfroe R 1B Keston Hiura R 3B M. Brosseau R CF Corey Ray L C M. Feliciano R DH Tyler White R
  15. More details:
  16. I just don't really see how this is possible. Someone is going to give Correa $250m and I just can't see the Brewers being the team that does it.
  17. Enter is a paragraph break, Shift+Enter is a single line break.
  18. I think it's probably the right baseball decision, I'm only saying that in a spectator sport, a pure baseball decision shouldn't be the only consideration, especially coming off a World Series victory.
  19. I agree it's not enough, I'll be pretty disappointed if no other moves are made. If this is a secondary move, I quite like it. If it's the primary move to shore up offense, I'm not a fan of it.
  20. Yeah, if I was a Braves fan I'd be pretty upset right now. While it's possible choosing Olson is the better baseball decision, this is a spectator sport and fan sentiment matters, too... and I don't think the gap between Olson and Freeman is big enough to warrant this decision.
  21. But has he really been in that steady of a decline with the bat? That's the question I kept asking myself. 2020 was a trashfire of a season for a bunch of guys, I tend to discard the season entirely. In the seasons 2017-2019, McCutchen has an OPS of .849, .792, and .834. Obviously, that's a significant step down from Cutch's peak MVP-level seasons but they're relatively recent and above what he posted in 2021 (.778 OPS). When I asked if his bat can rebound, I was thinking more in the .810 range instead of the .770 range. In no way am I of the mindset he will return to an .850 or higher OPS.
  22. Everybody should be thrilled with that line. Getting 2.5 wins out of an $8m player is a huge win.
  23. Given what the Cubs pulled on him to start his career, it's not surprising he's going to chase dollars above all else.
