  1. Yeah, we're seeing some server slowdowns. I've notified the server admin about it.
  2. We'll probably pony up for some prizes but we haven't fully discussed what that means yet. But free to play, yes!
  3. I was able to figure out the correct link, thanks for the heads up. http://nsbbhrd.wikidot.com/
  4. Join up if this interests you! If the project proves popular, we'll try to develop an interface and some automation for the game next season.
  5. Thought we could try this format, see how it does for a week.
  6. I thought this was a good read on how strikeouts are overblown by fans. They have their downsides compared to other outs but some of that downside is mitigated by the removal of an opportunity for multiple outs from a plate appearance. The Blue Jays and the Unloved Strikeout - Blue Jays - Jays Centre JAYSCENTRE.COM Many baseball writers see high strikeout rates as a major negative. But is a strikeout that much worse than another kind of out?
  7. Yeah, I'm curious to see Chourio get more time in center, as he looked a little lost in the corners last season. He wasn't bad but you could tell he wasn't comfortable. Seeing how he grades out in center as an MLB player will be something to note.
  8. While you're correct that owners tend to not care about the long-term health of the game much, I have two counterpoints: 1. You don't need 30 owners to agree, you need 24 to agree. Aim for that number and the Dodgers/Yankees can pound sand. They can't stop you. 2. While the future is unknowable, sports history has thus far shown that team valuations NEVER go down.
  9. A few people have had difficulty blocking users, including @markedman5 and @docduany. While I'm still unsure why this is happening, I think this workaround will resolve the issue. First, hit the link: https://brewerfanatic.com/ignore/ Use the autofill at the top of the page to find the correct user you want to block. You need to select their name from the drop-down so the system knows precisely who you want to block. Then make sure you check all the boxes below: posts, messages, replies, etc. Then hit update preferences or whatever it says and that should activate the ignore.
  10. Yes, but markedman has had some specific issues with ignore. Perhaps only with specific users. Now that I have specifics, I can try to replicate it and find out what is happening.
  11. Yeah, markedman made me aware of this, it's on my list of things to dive into now that I have specific examples but I won't be able to do so until after OD. I'll try to remember to make an announcement when/if I get it resolved.
  12. Welcome to Brewer Fanatic!
  13. On the latest episode of the Brewer Fanatic Podcast, the guys invite Andrew Wagner on to talk about Attanasio's comments and the hubbub from national writers. It's a really good conversation that gives a local perspective. I particularly found Andrew's comments about why "the local guys are lazy and didn't cover it" informative.
  14. Here we go again! (we'll do a couple of these a week for awhile, then switch to weekly)
  15. Several of you nailed this one right off the bat. It's Kevin Seitzer.
