I mean, it depends how real you think his 2025 is. He's definitely hitting the ball better, I just don't believe it will continue. -

He's very much a below average bat. He's just barelllyyyyy above average this year with a 102 wRC+ but he broke into the league in 2018. His career wRC+ is 84, way below league average. -
I get that Raffy could be handling this better but good managers prepare their team the best they can. The Red Sox aren't doing this with their best player, which means they're not managing this well. If you don't want a public kerfuffle about something, you keep the discussion out of the public eye by making sure everybody is aware of the situation and hopefully on the same page.

Breslow isn't handling it well. Devers never truly made a fuss about third base before the season began, the Boston media just took a snippet and turned it into a thing. But it wouldn't have killed Breslow to pick up the phone or even text Devers that Bregman was a possibility. The real fireworks began when Casas went down and the Red Sox tried to get Devers to play first after telling him to "throw his glove away" after the Bregman signing. While Devers is making a ton of money, he still deserves to be told what's going on and not have constant crap dropped on him out of nowhere.

Devers isn't a happy guy right now. He's being jerked around by the front office and also catching hell from the (often unfair and unreasonable) Boston media.

He's 22 years old and just signed a massive extension. He'll be fine. 😁

From the outside, not a lot, which is why I don't often get fired up about a manager, good or bad. The organization knows MUCH more about the good and bad of a manager than any of us ever will.

The reality of the situation is that the Manager of the Year is far and away the dumbest award handed out by baseball. It simply goes to the team that writers were the most wrong about in a good way (ie. the team that over-performed preseason expectations). I don't really have any issues with Murph other than the ridiculous bullpen management. If he just stops trying to burn out arms he's probably just fine as a manager.

The Twins have laughable first base performance. The Red Sox are absolutely hopeless there. The Padres are trotting out Luis Arraez. Lots of teams that expect to compete could use a competent first baseman, it has been a weakness around baseball for awhile now.

I think Hoskins might bring decent value but only because the first base situation around the league is so dire. Lots of competitors looking at first saying "why do we suck so hard at this position?"
