    I agree... kinda. I'd lean more toward the D spectrum because Arnold didn't do anything remotely interesting. He completed the Williams trade, which we all knew was coming, but didn't follow that up with any notable trades to improve the team. I didn't need or expect a blockbuster but also think the total dearth of interesting moves makes it a pretty bad offseason. With that said, I think the Brewers are still pretty good and will likely convert some of their marginal arms into decent performers but am left feeling that more should have been done.

    I do not care about the team in the slightest bit in this case, DOUBLY SO if it's the ****** Pirates and Bob Nutting. I take the cash without hesitation. Everyone involved with the team has piles and piles of cash. If they want the card, they have the funds to buy it instead of offering free tickets and jerseys.

    Okay, everybody, cut it out. I'm not going to individually warn people, there's plenty of people taking shots at one another. But here are some bullet points: 1. Don't call people names. Just don't. 2. No one here is a more legitimate or honest "fan" than others just because they hold a certain opinion. If the personal attacks continue, I will lock the thread and issue warnings. Please, just stop.

    That's my point, if 24 owners agree on terms they can force the remaining six to share more revenue. If baseball is mucking around with trying to get teams like the Twins, Cardinals, Rangers, etc. to share more, they're going about it all backwards. All of those teams are contracting payroll because of the TV situation.

    I agree that it's difficult to untangle but disagree that the ship has sailed. The more stratified the TV situation becomes, the more likely it becomes we will see increased revenue sharing. If 24 owners agree on something, they can do damned near anything they want. And the smaller the high-TV-revenue pool becomes, the more likely it is 24 out of 30 will agree on change.

    This is basically exactly how I feel. Teams get to keep more gate revenue, say 75% home team, 25% road team. But stuff like television revenue is split 50/50. That promotes owners building a product fans want to watch while also closing the gap between teams like the Dodgers and Brewers while not making it NFL-style equitable.

    I'm not really in favor of a hard cap. I think the sport would be better off with two things: 1. Increased revenue sharing. Like, A LOT more revenue sharing. The sport cannot have the Dodgers making $250m from TV alone while their biggest division rival makes about $20m. 2. A salary floor that's reasonably high, like $130m in today's dollars. At that point if you want to tax the absolute **** out of higher-payroll teams, have at it. But I don't see the need for a hard cap at that point. If Steve Cohen wants to pay 150% tax on something, have at it bro.

    The Twins desperately need to shave payroll so they'll be willing to give Paddack away for very little. I think he'd be a good flyer for Milwaukee to take. Also, welcome!

    More information about "Wade Miley Wants To Pitch For The Brewers In 2025"
    Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel wrote a great piece about Wade Miley and his return from Tommy John surgery. Miley's recent run with the Brewers has been a story of declined options. Upon returning to Milwaukee for the 2023 season, he pitched incredibly well, posting a 3.14 ERA over 120 innings. He declined his 2024 option before returning to the Brewers on a $7 million deal. He only made two starts before suffering an injury in an April 16th game. He later underwent surgery. There are several great quotes from Miley in the article above, I highly suggest reading it. To boil it down, Miley wants to come back and pitch as early as May 2025, just 12-13 months after undergoing surgery. He believes that given his age, pushing the return date forward aggressively is possible due to the fact Miley only wants one or two more years out of his left arm before he retires; long term health isn't a factor. As for where he wants to pitch, he gave this outstanding quote:
