  1. Well, that's a new problem. What device and browser are you using?
  2. Okay, so I *finally* got around to the AmFam guide but there are some gaps in my knowledge... after all, I haven't lived in Milwaukee in a dozen years. My knowledge, especially of things like shuttle services, are wildly out of date. If you could give this a read-through (it's long, I know) and give feedback on errors, additions, whatever... please do so. I particularly need people with experience using the shuttles to give feedback on the individual restaurants (or if I missed some). Thanks in advance!
  3. Jon Morosi tweeted that the Brewers are one of four teams looking for middle infield help. Curiously, the names mentioned are Tim Anderson, Paul DeJong, and Vidal Brujan. Tim Anderson of the White Sox is having an abysmal year by his standards. The former batting champion has an average around .240 and a sub-.300 on-base percentage and slugging percentage. Paul DeJong could be an upgrade but he plays for the Cardinals and teams are reluctant to trade within the division, though it does happen. The third name, Vidal Brujan, has a OPS under .500 in 2023. He's a consensus top 100 global prospect with very little experience against MLB pitching. Frankly, I'm not sure any of these names make sense for the 2023 Brewers stretch run. View full rumor

  5. This is why I said "choose your poison". Pick the guy you're most willing to give up and vote accordingly.
  6. This is not going to happen but I'm curious how you would feel if they actually did it. For the purpose of this exercise, we're going to assume the cost of acquisition is Chourio, Misiorowski, or Quero. Pick your poison.
  7. Trade deadline season is starting to heat up after the Rockies broke the seal by making a deal to move some lower-tier pieces to the Braves and Rangers. In this piece for MLB.com, Mark Feinsand lists the 17 players most likely to be traded and has the Brewers listed as potential suitors for several of them. We've already covered CJ Cron in this section so I'll ignore his mention. There are two really interesting names that stand out on this list, and for very different reasons. Randal Grichuck is a right-handed outfielder for Colorado who is having a solid season for the Rockies. Before anyone brings up road splits (which are often exaggerated for Rockies hitters but the altitude penalizes them, just as it does pitchers, though the inverse), Grichuck has a very respectable .792 road OPS in 2023. The most intriguing name on the list is Tigers left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez, who is under contract at a very reasonable rate through the 2026 season. The 30-year-old is having a breakout season, posting a 2.69 ERA in Detroit. The cost would be considerable but if there's a National League team that can extract additional value from a pitcher, it's the Milwaukee Brewers. Who on this list intrigues you? View full rumor

  9. Looking like a really good pitching matchup tonight. A Brewers win means they will leave this series with the division lead.
  10. The Reds. "Well, we're back in the car... again." After this series, the Brewers are done with Cincinnati so may as well put the hurt on 'em while you have the opportunity to do so.
  11. The reality of baseball is that rookies are unfinished products. If you never try to let them develop and polish their remaining deficits, they'll never reach their potential.
  12. Wiemer was excellent against RHP in the minors. There is no magical "git gud" button to press in the minor leagues because there are no Gerrit Coles or Corbin Burnes in the minors. Guys just need the exposure against the best talent in the world as they figure out that final step.
  13. It's impossible to develop against MLB pitching if you don't face it. Anthony Volpe leads the league in games played and has a 82 OPS+. Are the Yankees rebuilding?
  14. Because Wiemer is a cornerstone of the future and bats right-handed. He needs exposure to MLB pitching from both sides of the rubber. I’m fine with giving him more days off against righties but strongly against a strict platoon.
  15. Just showing competency against AA pitching at his age is phenomenal.
  16. I’ve seen a lot of disappointment around Chourio this season (maybe not so much in the past two weeks but still). Frankly, it’s absurd. He’s a teenager and not particularly close to turning 20. His 107 wRC+ is not eye-popping. THAT’S FINE. He’s a teenager! In AA! Let this tweet put that onto context. Look at the names mentioned.
  17. I see your point but lineup construction matters so little I don’t get worked up about it. Play your best nine and put the best guys near the top of the lineup so they get the most PAs. That’s 95% of lineup construction taken care of very simply.
  18. As others are saying, not in love with using Perkins two days in a row over Wiemer. Is Joey sick or something minor ailing him?
  19. I'd consider that a good homestand. There's no shame whatsoever in losing two of three to the Braves, provided they turn around and take two of three from the Reds. The Braves don't really matter until October.
  20. It's gonna be hard to keep that 1 wRC+ out of the lineup. There is one compelling reason to play Taylor and that's which side of the plate he stands on when he bats. I know we're all stans for Monasterio at this point but I'm highlyyyyyyyyy skeptical of his continued performance.
