  1. It was the right call, in my opinion. Parra had no chance of getting a hit and Dillon ACTUALLY drew a walk despite the horrible call by blue...
  2. extra two inches on each side of the plate tonight... getting old.
  3. This is ridiculous... I had this ALL chalked up as a blowout, or at the very least we give up 4 or 5 but score 8 or 9... come on Crew, don't do this to me... If you're watching the New York home feed, i bet you are as sick of hearing about how great today is for Nelson Figuerroa as i am...
  4. If i am in the front office, I offer him a fairly decent contract right now. Even a so-so Sheets is better than a great Suppan, and having him in the rotation makes a huge difference. Once Gallardo gets back our rotation could be set for 3 years (including this one). Sheets Gallardo Suppan Villanueva Parra Replace Suppan when his contract is up, i'm sure we will have a pretty nice prospect waiting for a spot by then.
  5. Peavy is a pretty serious hitter, maybe it just came off of his bat?
  6. Relax. Somewhere on the internet the team he went up against has a fan forum with fans SCREAMING about why they can't hit off the soft tossing lefty rookie, and how they always seem to get dominated by soft tossing lefty rookies.
  7. I always have a problem when Bush starts at the #3 spot in the rotation... He is a 5.. We'll be alright when Gallardo gets back..
  8. MLB.TV not working again.. Complete bull crap that i have to pay for this.
  9. Prince did play last year and played very well. We'll see if Braun stays quiet about his contract if he goes .300+ with 40 bombs and 120 RBI. I doubt it. I wouldn't either. Let's just make it happen Mark.
  10. In the seventh inning of the Phillies home opener yesterday, Geoff Jenkins was called upon to pinch hit. A guy named Ruiz had just laced an RBI double to cut the National lead to two. I believe there were either none or one outs. The stadium was already rocking after the double, so the PA announcer let the crowd settle a bit and proceeded to give Geoffry his intro. The crowd did get noticeably louder in cheering their new slugging backup outfielder. The Nationals then brought in Ray King (Geoff is surprisingly four for seven lifetime against the lefty). Despite their history, Geoff struck out with the finisher coming on an off-speed pitch that was low and away... The more things change...
  11. those can't be real videos right? i don't have the sound turned on so it's throwing me off, but he went into hiding didn't he?
  12. I'm 99% sure that one is sarcasm but maybe they should have put it in blue...
  13. Just look at some of the thread titles If the link doesn't work, just go to northsidebaseball.com and navigate your way to the baseball forum.. I have a hard time believing that even after a lead-blowing loss we would have put on a show like this... and they are mad over losing a game they had no business winning... on March 31st! I love baseball. I hate the Cubs. Go Brewers.
  14. Apparently MLB.com is SWAMPED because i've been trying to purchase MLB.TV Premium for the last hour and i can't get through to the order page...
  15. Good Job Benny! Great to hear he's in the mid 90's, that's a great sign. When healthy, it's laughable to compare Yovanni to Ben.
  16. How fast are the Sheets fastballs tonight for those of you watching?
  17. I managed to see about a minute of the game at the bar and they recapped his performance through only the first 2 1/3 innings. I think he struck out 4 and his curveball was looking great. Even better than last year in my opinion. Not sure about his fastball because FSN wasn't real keen on getting the MPH on the screen. Thanks FSN.
  18. Out here on the West Coast the game starts at 1130. I work until 1pm. I'm just going to be honest with you here. I'm telling my boss i have a doctor appointment at 11 and Nascarring it out of there. Go Brewers.
  19. It would be great if Bush could turn that corner and become a solid pitcher but i just don't see it... Suppan is just the #2 because he makes a lot of money. In my opinion, our best five are (when healthy): Sheets Gallardo Villy Parra Suppan Too bad about Capuano... He's a great person but i'd rather have Parra or Villy and I suppose i would rather have Suppan than Bush or Vargas... We just have way too many average arms don't we? If we keep Sheets for cheaper it'd be nice to get one more real solid pitcher in there..
  20. So that's either a form of sarcasm that i am not yet advanced enough to understand, or we are really on to something here... I actually just went back and checked the OT forum and, sure enough, there it is... stickied even...
  21. First off, if you click on ESPN's fantasy baseball draft kit it takes you to a page that says in BIG letters, "I (HEART SYMBOL) COREY HART!" Sorry if this is old news... Anyway, i haven't tried fantasy baseball in a long time so i was wondering what sites you guys use. And what style drafts/leagues do you prefer? I've never tried the auction and it has me intrigued. ESPN appears to be the easy/flashy choice but i'm sure there is probably something better. What do you recommend? I looked for the proper forum for this, and i'm positive that this still isn't the right one so feel free to move this... Now that i actually READ the article, it's pretty old (as is my signature... wow) but i'd never seen the picture link for it.
  22. Personally, i think you'd be much better off with Rodgers. The "new age" quarterbacks who can run and throw haven't exactly turned out the way everyone thought they would. Yet, people are still on the bandwagon. Even the original, Randall Cunningham, couldn't get it done. I realize you're joking about the sign or trade but i really think that teams who invest in players like Russell are doomed. Well, the Raiders are doomed either way... They have Al Davis. By the way, 55 Million for a broken Javon Walker.. Nice move Al.
  23. Absolutely not. While i see the argument in having a decent bat fill in while Cameron is gone, there is almost no other way this could be positive. For starters: Bill Hall. Count me in as another person who believes that last years shift to the outfield may have had something to do with his slump at the plate. You can move him around the infield all you want, it's basically the same thing. Plus, he's not a very good centerfielder in the first place! True, he would get better as the years went on but right now he's not very good. So by starting Crede at third you would risk Hall slumping again and have bad centerfield defense (in a year where Ryan Braun is making his debut in left!) In my opinion, we'd be much better off to stick Tony jr. and Gabe Gross out there on a rotation and see who gets hot. 25 games later Cameron comes in and our lineup is pretty much set. This lineup is not short on offense, that's for sure!! The thing that has always killed us is defense. Even without Cameron our outfield defense is better now with Hall back at third, and our infield defense is instantly better with Braun going to the outfield. Add to that Rickie, JJ, and Prince are a year older and probably a little better across the board. So when Cameron DOES finally make his Brewers debut... This is going to be one heck of a team... at least as far as Brewer teams are concerned. 2007 < 2008 1B: Fielder < Fielder - Same, but possibly better at the plate and probably better in the field 2B: Weeks < Weeks - probably better at the plate and possibly in the field SS: Hardy = Hardy - at least the same in the field, and the same at the plate, just not the same way it happened last year 3B: Braun > Hall - Big improvement on defense, big dropoff at the plate but... LF: Jenkins< Braun - Astronomical improvement at the plate, a small drop in defense but more range CF: Hall < Cameron - Probably a step better at the plate since Hall slumped last year but what a giant leap on defense. RF: Hart < Hart - Hart's progress has been slow, but he's developed into quite a player and he's still getting better. C: Estrada < Kendall - Higher OBP and probably the same everywhere else EXCEPT the clubhouse cancer factor. Okay so i got WAYYY off topic, but i'm extremely excited about this team. Um, where were we? Oh yeah... We don't need Crede.
  24. Just got mine in the mail today. I had already seen the pictures on here, but looking at the actual magazine in my hand was a completely different experience. It's amazing what he has done in such a short time. But the bigger thing, for me, was seing a Brewer uniform on the cover like that. It feels like i'm watching a movie and the mag is just a prop. For the longest time, only in a far off fantasy world would a Milwaukee Brewer become that popular. Awesome.
  25. From here on out, every time Counsell is intentionally walked i will buy a new authentic Brewer jersey...
