  1. Holy Matt Wise! i think we should trade this guy now while we can still get someone like Jeremi Gonzalez for him.
  2. before that at-bat, phillies broadcast said that Cirillo is the active leader in batting average with 2 outs and RISP.. ahead of guys like Manny. i love that..
  3. i have a feeling we are going to have a big inning in the 6th. Big batters at the plate and a tired Lidle on the mound.
  4. GIDP.. they can't turn em all night, though.
  5. well executed defense? are you sure you were watching the Brewer game? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif Cappy looks like he's on again today. I just got back from grocery shopping so i can finally see the actual game.... All year long i've been worried about Capuano imploding one of these days .. but i just can't see it happening anymore.. or at least i don't fear it.. i trust him now..
  6. Rickie hit that ball pretty hard. And he still almost beat out the throw. Looks like we are hitting the ball , just catching some bad breaks here and there.
  7. So i see this: How in the world did Lee gun Rollins at third?? Cappy with a hit.. alright!
  8. Are they REALLY throwing Madsen in the final game? I now feel really good about this series. They may be a dangerous team to play after losing all those games.. but if Cappy can get us started off right, and Eveland can give us something to work with tomorrow. That last game is winnable. i say again.. I LIKE THIS SERIES..
  9. MLB.com Preview Okay, i know they're having a good year.. but that's getting kind of rediculous.. no way the Phillies get into the playoffs this year... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif
  10. does anyone else watching on MLB.TV see that menu at the top that looks like you are watching it on Directv? Someone just "changed the channel" and now i'm getting Dodgers Live... ???? what is this, a glorified Sling Box? I don't care what they did with this software in the offseason, so far MLB.TV has just been horrible.
  11. good to see Clark with a nice game. I know weeks is batting over .300 (and really it just doesn't feel like it), but i think most see him as a 2 hitter rather than a 1. If Clark can reclaim that leadoff spot and Rickie can settle in at 2, this offense will be scary.. good to see Matt Wise back out there.
  12. You can't say that for sure... Obviously lineup changes do have an effect and certain players batting in certain spots do make sense, or managers would keep the same lineups all year. That of course excludes injuries and players in a real bad slump. How much of a difference would swapping Jenkins and Fielder make? We won't know until "The Switch", but there will definitly be a difference.
  13. I'm pretty sure Cincinnati is one of those cities that you can just tell you don't want to live there based on their commercials alone... fast food chili?
  14. I thought for sure Prince would hit one of his trademark oppo-field doubles on that one.. i'll take it though!
  15. Kearns is one of those players that if you put him on most other teams his HR's will decrease by about 35% I think maybe Biggio could be another.. but without looking at his homeruns before the advent of the "Stupid Porch" i'm not sure. I'm loving this Weeks-Cirillo 1-2 punch we got going...
  16. new pitcher, 10/7 K/BB, hasn't pitched in a week, let's take a few pitches guys!
  17. so then it's settled. there is absolutely no valid argument in the known universe, or even the IGT for keeping Jenkins at 3. I think there are lots of starting pitchers in the Central that are praying that "The Switch" doesn't happen any time soon. Each night they thank Ned Yost before they go to bed. Maybe it's that Ned doesn't want to leave Jenkins "unprotected". But if you bat Hall right after him i think that's good enough.
  18. you know, having Brady batting after Miller can't be a bad thing. Ouch, didn't work out there, but it will in the future.
  19. I think you have it backwards, but maybe i'm wrong. Could you please explain this?
  20. so we really are doing the whole sarcasm color thing? that's so cool. for some reason when i first realized what the color was for i thought of The Office... don't know why.
  21. well, just when you thought that win against the twins would stop the bleeding, Bush pulls a Hendrickson and all of a sudden things look bleak... for this series anyway.. not too much else to say but let's go out there and win one today. teams HAVE won with bad pitching before, why not us? why not the team with the most homeruns in baseball playing in one of the most homerun happy parks in baseball? let's do it!
  22. i think they have no shot at the playoffs, however that's mostly because they are a younger team and younger teams are very inconsistent. Funny thing is we got beat by guys that are just plain awful the whole rest of the year.. or maybe it's just that i dont like them at all... either one.. (Batista)
  23. ahhhh, a win. Young team. Young players. There will be the occasional lulls. You know Friday was ALOT like today's game. If DD can make the pitches to end his inning and hand it over to Wise, we have the exact same scenario as today. Instead Cappy2 has a bad outing, and its game over.. he's going to have those.. Ben Hendrickson had a bad outing, Billy had 2 errors, what are you gonna do.. We limited the damage to our record and a 6-3 homestand against Philly, New York, and Minnesota is acceptable. You knew that Minny was too good to slump for too long.. they just took it out on us... On to Cincy where we have a chance to, i believe, leapfrog them in the standings. Here's to Cappy, by the way. (I'm holding a beer. It's cold.)
  24. Wow, even when Matt Wise is off, he can still be pretty darn good... just a little rusty, that's all. So mark it down as 3 solid relievers and put a TBD on Ned's new toy, Shouse. I'll say, if used right, we could put him on that list.. but not against anyone that can hit lefties. *AHEM* Howard... Turnbow Wise JDLR -and maybe- Shouse HOLY MOELLER! ...just wanted to say that..
