  1. TB 3rd/4th = .788/.614 Brewers 3rd/4th = .673/.569 Try again.
  2. Don't worry, if somehow they get on base then Hunter Renfroe, with his 0.546 OPS with runners on will surely knock them in.
  3. Heard it before. Don't believe it's gonna work. The team is built out of no superstars a few above average hitters and a roster littered with average to utter crap hitters. Who consistently struggle against ANY LH pitcher and build up average RS numbers by beating up on crappy pitchers. Sure, at any time even LoCain can hit a ball hard and maybe get a home run, but the numbers are skewed against this dysfunctional offense that makes that "dream" of getting hot at the right time less likely to happen than teams that actually have good hitters. And this team is no different to the all the Oakland A's teams that Beene put together with high OBP and years of playoff failure. You can find a lot of players that can help over a 162 game schedule to get you to the playoffs, but come playoffs and you are now only playing elite team then those players fail, fail, fail.
  4. I was looking at travelocity.com the other day for hotels in downtown Milwaukee and was surprised at the cost for a few nights in slow seasons (I believe the cheapest was $150 per night and with taxes was somewhere around $340 total for 2 nights). That is also hotels a little distant from downtown and a uber/lyft to the hotel adds to the cost and the time. Staying nearer ups the price closer to $220+ per night. Is there a better sight that I am missing? Does that seem reasonable? My wife and I have been going to plays/symphony/other events and then driving home each night. We decided that at our age we didn't want to hassle with late night travel home and I am looking for options to stay the night or 2 (some events are back to back) 2 to 3 times a month, but at a first glance it seems to be a pretty high. I also looked at apartments to rent and there are actually several options around $1000 per month that would work, but most require a 12 month lease so in the offseason/when in the burbs we would be paying for an empty apartment. Are there short term options around downtown that are through a different website(s)?
  5. Well when 1 Brewer goes on a hot streak during the postseason, then maybe we can dream that 3 will. Until then we are going to have a lot more of the same, score a lot in late innings against bad relievers or bad starters then when we face elite pitching staffs in the playoffs they'll crumble and strikeout, pop out or ground out weakly.
  6. Excellent post. The issue to me is that exit velocity, etc. don't measure a successful baseball outcome or ANY baseball outcome so they will never have direct application by themselves.
  7. Yep. When Bill James developed OXS it was so clearly accurate because you could actually get to a teams runs scored using OBP x SLG x PA. There was criticism because it didn't account for a lot of other activities, but for hitters it IS the only metric with somewhere like 98% accuracy. Now with all the attempts to capture every activity there's a lot of suspect metrics that have not shown any level of accuracy like OXS, but they have become Gospel.
  8. 52 years of Brewers baseball. This is a very Brewers way to lose.
  9. I don't read articles starting with "Ignore the Haters" in the Title as it's either click bait or written by a high schooler,
  10. The Brewers will be fine once they get back to playing AAA major league teams like the Reds, Pirates and Cubs.
  11. So my understanding is that hitters see the ball better/have a slightly longer length of time to pickup the ball when batting against opposite handed pitchers. Hiura's data to date indicate he is worse with that extra time. My suggestion is he should close his eyes and swing.
  12. Yep, Luke Voit was created to be a Brewer! The world won't be in equilibrium until Stearns makes a deal to get that strike out machine to platoon with Rowdy.
  13. Anything more than 1 hit is icing on the cake for that lineup.
  14. Thanks for the input guys. I turned off screen lock after X minutes and adjusted the power settings so the screen would never go to sleep on power and the issues went away (touch wood). Something about the power and/or screen lock was causing the issue. I really hate the way Microsoft is going with (about everything, but ) their power settings. I have an old laptop where the battery went bad. Replaced the battery, but can't get the system apps to give an accurate reading on the battery. It will either say it isn't charging or has 0% battery, but if I unplug it nothing happens (still keeps working fine), then later it will read 100% battery or charging will come back. I literally have it sitting on all the time with the plug in and it's on a battery backup anyways so the battery should always be 100%.
  15. Best game of the year! Tuned out after the 4th inning and tuned back in to see Keston lead off the bottom of the ninth. Got to see the only highlights that matter. Go Crew!
  16. This game is on a 3.5 hour + (if there's a bottom of the 9th) rate with 0 runs and 4 hits. What fantastic entertainment. Will professional paint drying surpass baseball in popularity this decade?
  17. Good to get the worst possible inning out of the way.
  18. I did a google Maps Street View "tour" of the area while referencing the artistic rendering of the drawing and it looks like they will be taking the area from 6th street to 10th street, Michigan to the freeway as the footprint for the stadium and entertainment area with the stadium closest to 6th street (just north of the freeway/train station). Not much in that area at the moment, but that is a nice draw to increase people in the area. Also really easy access off the freeway and IIRC there is a streetcar stop nearby.
