  1. Might be a time to go look at his stats now that the balls are not tacked(?). Apparently, he is destroying things in AA and he is still super young with bat speed that cannot be taught.
  2. Outside of Lara, no Mudcat OF should be making travel plans. This might be the way. Briceno and 19-20 year old holdovers in LCastillo, Perez, and HMendez will probably be manning the OF with Avina and Fernandez.
  3. Adamczewski started at second base the past two seasons. He hit .488 with four homers and 36 RBIs last year and .470 with 23 RBIs in his high school debut after his freshman season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 6-foot Adamczewski has gained weight throughout his career. He went from 145 pounds as a freshman to 195 this season.
  4. So are we expecting every DSL and AFL position player to be in Carolina next year because we have not exactly loaded up on Cs, 2Bs and OFs in this draft.
  5. After a strong junior campaign, Letson attended more camps and workouts. It was then that he began receiving attention from some Major League teams, including the Milwaukee Brewers, Detroit Tigers and San Francisco Giants. https://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/baseball-floyds-letson-expected-to-be-selected-in-mlb-draft/article_d9fa079c-1d16-11ee-90a9-cf1b96afca51.html
  6. Take away the May 18th debacle vs Lamar and Morris Austin did pretty well (8.2IP 7H 2ER 4BB and 12K) but small sample size and most likely drafted to take less than slot.
  7. In a news article it mentioned that it was his dream to get drafted. https://www.niagara-gazette.com/sports/ryan-birchard-s-nccc-success-leads-to-choice-between-d-i-scholarship-or-mlb-draft/article_46546fbe-fc14-11ed-8924-a3c7eba33548.html Also this... https://ncccathletics.com/sports/bsb/2022-23/players/ryanbirchardwwvq Touched 98 but lived in 93-95...two other offerings and was part of a 5 inning no-hitter vs SUNY-A
  8. https://fgcuathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/jackson-woodward/9217 This shows that he ran into some trouble later in the year...dead arm?
  9. His presence reminds me of Buhner coming into SEA from NYY and having an impact even though Jay did not hit for a great avg. Joey will have an impact with his speed, his glove and that arm (like the Mets just witnessed) on days that he goes 0 for 4.
  10. Couple things: Churio is crazy young. No need to rush him to the bigs like last year going from Low A to AA. Especially as he meets stiffer pitching and may not have the same numbers as in 2022. Rowdy's name has not been mentioned to be traded, but he could lose 1B to Yeli (drafted as a 1B) as Christian is not the fielder/thrower he used to be. Platooning is still a thing and breaking the kids into the majors when they have proper reserves (unlike now) could be a way to cut the wear and tear, reduce unfavorable matchups, and get them ready for the dog days of summer. It is a good mix of lefty/righty going on with them.
  11. On holiday and could only get the NYMets audio and watch the game. Keith Hernandez made two really sharp comments. (Paraphrased) Yelich has an open shoulder that, much like golf will cause the club (or bat) to drag behind. This could have been why has struggled or only hitting HRs to one part of the park in 2022. On Wiemer, he loved the "big, fast kid" but was dressing him down each time he came up to the plate. Bat is too busy, bat flattens out in the at bat, wide stance into a ridiculously long stride (he did note that he is tall but) he commented that this kid will get figured out and he will have to make adjustments to quiet the movement in the batter's box. Thoughts?
  12. "As for the competitiveness, even if Wiemer is a 5 win player this year(highly unlikely), two weeks likely wouldn't make a noticeable impact(1 win at the absolute most). The potential of 1 extra win is not nearly enough for me to throw away a year of his prime." Add the WAR of the player filling in too. BA in RF and Brosseau at 3B looks good now.
  13. I said this on r/Brewers , the reddit sub-thread and was scolded for thinking such a thing. I still really think that there is something to this. He took extra days as well after the birth. I hope that his family is ok and I am glad he is figuring out in San Diego, not MKE.
  14. Billy Joe Robidoux vibes and I feel them too.
  15. He doesn't have the 2022 stats that Benintendi has, but he is a lefty, natural CF and under control for 3-5 years. He is electric and would fit in well with Urias, Adames, et al. But at what cost? Want to bring back Jorge Lopez as well as?
  16. I would love to see Avina to A-, Churio to HiA, Peters to AA, Frelick to AAA. Ideally all this week, but most likely in good time. Mitchell needs more reps at AA, Wiemer needs to get that batting avg up, Lara needs to get a bit older in Arizona, and Bello needs to get healthy.
  17. We have catchers! Including the recently drafted 2022 catchers, how would you rank our Cs in terms of prospect status? Quero, Feliciano, Kahle, MWood, THall, DMiller, BDiaz, Reetz, and Ordonez/Oropeza would be my top 10 but I know less than I should. Thoughts?
  18. Jakson Reetz is a 26 year old catcher that had success at Biloxi because he was a year and a half older than his mates. Maybe he has put it all together; maybe is a journeyman in the making...but he is not a prospect on the level of Turang, Quero, Mitchell, and Kelly.

  20. He will replace Ty Black when we package Black to WSH for Bell.
  21. Aged like milk...guess they are going to get them all from South America.
  22. 1. Aaron Ashby 2. Ethan Small 3. Joey Wiemer 4. Hedbert Perez 5. Jeferson Quero C 6. Garrett Mitchell 7. Joe Gray Jr 8. Tyler Black 9. Freddy Zamora SS 10. Zavier Warren 11. Felix Valerio 2B 12. Abner Uribe 13. Mario Feliciano C 14. Ernesto Martinez, Jr. 1B 15. Brice Turang SS 16. Korry Howell CF 17. Sal Frelick CF 18. Ashton McGee 19. Max Lazar 20. Dylan File 21. Hendry Mendez RF 22. Jackson Chourio CF 23. Logan Henderson RHP 24. Weston Wilson 25. Jesus Chirinos 1B 26. Eduardo Garcia SS 27. Carlos Rodriguez RF 28. Gabe Holt 29. Scotty Sunitsch LHP 30. Wes Clarke
  23. AmFam field + a steady diet of putting vs Lefties and lots of load mgmt will give decent output. The temptation is to expand past that but CC and Stearns should know better. Therefore, .275, 25 HR, .825 OPS, and maybe even 2.5 WAR seems high, but the BA and OBP with pop might track for the limited number of ABs he should get.
