  1. Braun or Clement. What time does this thing kick off?
  2. IF there are no off days it will be Sheets on the 12th.
  3. except for that guy with 12 HRs and 44 RBIs.
  4. I was once on an airplane flight with a former Major League manager...does that put me above most here? Afterall, just being around him and in the cabin for 2.5 hours you pick up more than most.
  5. I know more about everything baseball related than all of you combined so this bickering is pointless. I'm officially locking this thread. Oh wait, I cant do that.

  7. Question: Did Miller and Magruder take bats with them to the plate in the 7th? Thanks in advance.
  8. It is great to see Richard Chamberlin in the 2-hole. I like him there, as long as he is hot. Today I am looking for a potent lineup: Clark Chamberlin Jenks Lee Overbay Spivey Branyan Hardy FINALLY!!!
  9. Wow. Who had Santos in the first complete game pool?
  10. I've always liked Matheny. I remember once with the Brewers he was hit in the catcher's mask with a foul ball and a piece of his mask broke and cut him really bad in the cheek, but stayed and played the entire game. That's not true. Matheny was batting and he got hit in the jaw with a pitch. He just turned his head, spit out a bunch of blood and trotted to first. He never touched or grabbed his face, he didnt even wince. When he got to first the trainer met him there and Matheny was forced to leave the game by the training staff. I remember the next day someone came to county stadium with a sign that said "Mike Matheny is the toughest man alive" That is true. And it was awesome.
  11. This team's goal needs to be to score in 3 innnings per game.
  12. Defense is very underrated. We've lost 7 in a row and cant make a throw from pitcher to first. Our opponents keep making miracle plays vs. our linedrives.
  13. Man, I hate Marquis Grissom. He was an angry looking, overpaid piece of garbage in Milwaukee. Now he is 49 years old and is good. Im sure it has nothing to do with Barry Bonds.
  14. Looks like Ned might have had a few after seeing that lineup. No, seriously, I have been advocating for Spivey to get dropped down for sometime now. Miller in the 2 hole is interesting, and I think the "protection" Spivey provides Overbay will be less of a downgrade from Lee than the gain Jenkins will have in the 3 hole....I hope I am right, and I am now excited for the game (for a change). Beer of choice this evening: Guinness, Brilliant.
  15. I know who we WONT be taking... One GM predicts that after Justin Upton, the next five picks will be Nebraska third baseman Alex Gordon to Kansas City, Tennessee right-hander Luke Hochevar to Seattle, Long Beach State shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to Washington, Virginia third baseman Ryan Zimmerman to Milwaukee and Fullerton State left-hander Ricky Romero to Toronto. That is from Peter Gammons latest column, which means it could not be further from the truth.
  16. I messed up on the Spivey numbers. The new ones are to be kept in my sig until he falls out of the top 3 in the NL. Right now he is #1.
  17. Spivey extends his NL leading strikeout number to 21. Congrats Jr. 63 ABs, 21 Ks, 4 BB
  18. Go Brewers. El Caballo with a double. Wooo Hooo.
  19. GetPaddled...you might be making a mistake. I learned long ago that when placing a recreational-for-entertainment-purposes-only wager to never, ever place them on or against the Brewers. Unless you are betting the Under (or over) on this game I can't imagine putting money ON the Brewers, and betting against them, while smart, means you have to root against them.
  20. I can't say that I have ever been a "proud" member of this community...I usally try to keep it on the D/L so people don't pass judgment on me. Sheets is gonna start tonight, and in between striking out Bagwell and Ensberg he'll blow some chunks on the mound and not even care.
  21. Welcome aboard "Automater", it's always nice to see new blood here at Brewerfan.net. Just remember to read the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum before doing a lot of posting.
  22. Well, the probability that the Brewers score more than one run in an Obermueller start increases exponentially vs. a Sheets start.
  23. From rotoworld... Manager Ned Yost said Ben Sheets is ''50-50'' to make his start Wednesday due to flu-like symptoms. If Sheets can't go, Wes Obermueller would fill in for him and the Brewers would most likely lose to the Astros.
  24. Why is Tommy Phelps on this team? Will we ever have another game where we score in more than one inning?
  25. Prediction - until something is done about 6-9 of Cirillo, Magruder, Hardy, pitcher - we wont win a game. And Hardy is the least of my worries about that part of the lineup. Easily the worst 6-9 that we have put out there on a daily basis in quite sometime.
