  1. Ginter, slumping a bit, just missed a dinger to dead center in the 1st. Then Tim Hummel, that's Tim Hummel, takes Wayne out of the yard.
  2. Podsednik stole home?? Ok, give him ROY right now. 5-1 crew - let's start another streak today!!
  3. Let the speculation and praying begin...
  4. ok, now Reiner's kid is doing the play by play. I'm not sure if he is any good because I turned the game off when I heard his voice.
  5. Ok, Rob Reiner is doing play by play for the fifth inning and it is just brutal. He started the bottom of the 5th by calling the Brewers rightfielder Buddy Clark. Bob is just letting him go. I have to admit that he is getting better as the game goes on.
  6. I was at the game last night, sitting right next to the bucket brigade, I might have to go to the next brigade game on 8/19, anyway....the game was great. Some great plays, and some awful ones as well. 1. Keith Ginter hit the ball on the screws a couple of times. He flew out to deep center in the 6th. and his HR was way outta here. 2. Jenkins is unreal with the glove that catch made my night. 3. Podsednik chickened out on that triple by Fick. When the ball was hit I thought for sure it was extra bases but Scotty really tracked it. Just when it looked like he was gonna catch it, he bailed quite a ways from the track with that slide, and I am not even sure the ball hit the wall on the fly. He should have made that catch, and a better, more experienced CF would have. It almost cost us the game and it cost Kinney a nice start. 4. Kinney really did not pitch that bad, needed to find his control at times but worked out of the minor jams he got into 5. EY is a horrible fielder 6. Richie was clutch a game I was at...and Clayton had an extra base hit, I wrote both of those down as I doubt it has happened on the same day so far this year. Finally, it was a lot of fun to be at. The bucket brigade made it almost like a High School or college basketball game atmoshphere and that was really really cool.
  7. The Mets have cut off talks with him for the time being because of rumors of his having sex with 12 year olds... sports.espn.go.com/mlb/story?id=1590426
  8. Is anyone else daydreaming about a Looie to Looie battery in Milwaukee for years to come....ahhh the sweet sounds of Loooooooo when Martinez pitches and then Loooooo when Captain Lou tosses it back to him. 2006 a possibility??
  9. I think I just heard Nedly say that Clayton will be hitting in the two hole, with Hall batting 8 and playing second. God help us. It is getaway day so it is not uncommon for EY to get the day off...although....
  10. Unless I couldn't see it, or didn't look hard enough there was no in game thread for tonights butt kicking. Does anyone care anymore?? At least I have an excuse, today is my 2nd wedding anniversary! By the way, our bats = silent.
  11. Well batman, the first thing I thought was Jermaine Dye if you recall he just needlessly ran over a catcher in a game and seperated his shoulder and is out 4-6 weeks. I can't emphasize enough how hard Prince hit this kid. It did look like Prince said something to him when he came up in the ninth, like are you okay or something like that, but he leveled this poor kid.
  12. Just want to add about the Beloit game. My brother and I went to the game today, our first ever at Pohlman Field. Fielder scored the go ahead run and absolutely destroyed the catcher for Peoria. I mean the poor kid wasn't even blocking the plate, the Prince looked like he'd be score safely with a good slide but he lowered his shoulder, and I kid you not, the catcher landed in the grass outside of the dirt circle that surrounds home plate. It was a vicious hit and everyone in the park went nuts. I bet my brother 5 bucks that Prince would get one in the ear the next time up but he didn't, he lined a 2-1 pitch into center for a single.
  13. Bill Hall anyone?? Royce Clayton has been great with the glove, but his throws to first have been eratic lately. I have heard that Bill Hall is also pretty good with the glove, only his throws have been a little wild. Can Hall come in and hit .240 with some pop?? Only one way to find out. I really liked what I saw from Hall this spring in the games I saw in AZ.
  14. was that not good?? should dejean not have done that??
  15. Ron Gardenhire just got tossed and then he looked to be pretty mad. Watching him yell and scream and get so animated I thought he looked like the old wrestler Arn Anderson, anyone remember that guy??
  16. I am sorry, but Brooks Kieshnick has been a very valuable player on this team, both throwing some innings plus he his hitting AWESOME as a pinch hitter. I love this guy. His pitching has been nothing special but better than a lot of other relievers in the Bigs. Go BROOKS!!
  17. Great job by the Crew to tie it up in the 7th. Even better was Powell's comment about Sheets getting off the hook went something like this. The Brewers score 4 times in the 7th to get Ben Sheets off the hook, "Ben has never lost to the Cubs and he never will" Never will?? We can only hope.
  18. Two things. One, Kieth Osik is not on this team for offense, he can't throw out baserunners, or block balls in the dirt...why is he on the team. The second thing is will we score against Shawn Estes today?? He is terrible, so is our offense.
  19. one AB for Jose, one K. I love playing against him! check that 2 Abs, 2 ks. Make it 3 for 3 Quadruple check that...4 for 4...ahh that is soooo sweet.
  20. Did I hear that right??? Jose K in the 2 hole for the cubs?? Wonder how long that will last
  21. Thought I might start this since I am home today for a Wednesday road game. Might be our best chance for a win this series. Richie needs to step today.
  22. Vizcaino does not have any options left does he? Thats how we got him from Texas I though.
  23. seriously. If we run Q's big ole butt out there one more time this organization is gonna have to take a long look in the mirror and ask what the heck they are trying to prove. I am just sick watching this guy through low 80s fastballs that get smacked all over the place. There was a great stat put up on the tv in the 1st. Sheets, Kinney, Franklin 25-25, Rusch, Quevedo Ritchie something like 3-16. If this guy makes another start as a Milwaukee Brewer Melvin and Yost should be ashamed.
