  1. Oh yeah, this bottom of the 7th does not look good...can we just get 2 hits in a row??
  2. No way the D'backs make that deal. No in 1 million, no 1 BILLLION years.
  3. Well, Pods takes the size 4 collar, but Uke said that he hit the ball right on the screws twice, and one was in the gap, only it was run down by Chavez. One guy has to get one (Counsell) for Lyle to get one more shot.
  4. Looks like OVerbay might get another shot or two to extend the streak. Hey, good thing we are trying to steal Hall on a "slow" field, right after it rains out. I wouldn't think that it'd be all that smart. Also, good thing we are not playing these games in Montreal where they only get about 9,000 fans a game, I mean, 8300 in San Juan is so much better - at least they sound like more than 8300..and you can't beat the facilities!
  5. nice, so they need 3 outs to be official and they decide to cover the IF. nice...will they continue it tomorrow or start over?
  6. Wes Helms - injured, somewhat seriously when he slipped in the tunnel before the game. Preliminary indications are sprained MCL, and he has already gone back to Milwaukee for tests. Wes just seemed to be better at the plate, better ABs and going to RF somewhat, this is terrible timing. I hope he can get back very soon.
  7. That lineup does look great. I like Hall as a 6 hitter very much, and Grieve in there as well. I'd almost go so far as to say that is one of the best looking lineups we've sent out there this year. But: already down 2-0, I thought this team wasnt supposed to have any offense...it looks like we are the ones with no offense so far.
  8. With Corey Hart's hot start in AAA, and Prince mashing for a few weeks at AA, tossed in with the praise that Weeks and Hardy have gotten from national minor league publications, Brad Nelson has been severely over looked. He has to be considered a bonified top 5 prospect for us, and like someone else said I believe, he would be #1 prospect on about 20 of the 29 other teams.
  9. Pods is worrisome, but it sounded like he just missed a leadoff double in the 9th, it also sounded like Ginter almost had one as well. The guy I am worried about is Jenkins. He went 3-4 today, but at least one of his hits was an IF single. WHere is his power stroke he lad last year?
  10. 15 baserunners so far, and 2 runs. Where is that timely hitting?
  11. Bravo Mike Adams, a 1-2-3 inning. On another note though, I thought our 6-9 part of our lineup was supposed to sustain rallies this yera. They have been black hole for most of the season. Brady Clark has to be about the worst 6 hitter in all of baseball. If we had Spivey and Hall in the lineup somewhere, It wouldnt be as bad.
  12. Now seems like a good time to ask this. JS online, and I suspect JS in print has a stat called BFP in their box scores, anyone have any idea what it stands for. My first thought was First Pitch Balls (Ball First Pitch).
  13. 5 walks for JDLR in only 3 innings is not good. He's had a few shining moments thus far, but I think it is apparrant that he needs some extened time in AAA. I checked his stats from last year and he didnt seem to have the same type of problem with finding the zone. What is his problem this year?
  14. That was absolutely incredible. And, like so many others I was dumb and went last night (we already had tickets!). I listened to the first 7 in the car and got home for the 8th and 9th. IT was a very special performance and you could see in the post game interview that Ben apprecuated the fan support, and you know they appreciateld the performance.
  15. Just wanted to say I was at the game today and it was a wonderful day at the ballpark. Other than one freak play where Bill Hall made a terrible decision to try and throw out a runner at first after an OVerbay error the game was well played. Hall was 2-4 today and he hit that snot out of the HR on a line into the left field stands. I hope he can get more PT if he produces when he plays.
  16. Oh, I am enjoying the moment, believe me, I just finished finals and am going to the game tomorrow. I just was wondering why Trent Durrington gets all the PT now and Bill Hall sits on his hands in the dugout. It bothers me, but it was a great win and I hope we sweep tomorrow!
  17. Can someone please fill me in on what has happened to that guy who used to play in the infield for us. It's been a while so I can't recall his name but he played some shortstop in early 2004, and I remember him having a lot of success in the spring. The last thing I remember is a hot streak towards the end of April in '04 when he won a few games for us but he seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth, he doesn't evem pinch hit for us. I'd remember his name if I heard it, and I checked all other 29 rosters for him but I cannot find him. Anyone?
  18. Careful there, Peavy. Words like that'll get you lynched by many of the locals around here. Atta boy, Wesley. Still pullin' for ya. Ok, time to set the record straight. I cant speak for everyone, but I think everyone here is pulling for Wes Helms, to at least be as good as he was last year, if not better. I'd love Wes to hit .260 with 28 Hrs and 85 RBI, but so far, .230/1/9 just isnt what we need. Now, granted, Keith Ginter has been slumping, but he STILL is hitting better than Wes, leads the team in HRs, etc. that is why I would like to see Keith get a majority of the PT. Just like Id like to see Hall get more PT at SS. So nobody has any ill will towards Wes, I think we all just want our best 8 out there every day.
  19. extra innings..time for the bats to back to sleep.
  20. Mike, I think Yost is a great manager. The best we've had in sometime, but last year AND this year he has had infatuations with certain players nad I can never understand why. Helms, Durrington, Bennett, Counsell, Clayton, last year. I wish he didn't but that is the only gripe I have with him.
  21. I still question his Durrington and Bennett moves
  22. LMAO!!! this team is somethin! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
