  1. If we could trade them Jenkins and someone like a Zach Jackson for Brad Penny I'd dirty my underpants.
  2. That's a great name. Ron Davenport. He should run for public office with that name.
  3. Well at this point Villanueva has shown about as much as Loewen has in the bigs, and Capellan and Aquino address the bullpen areas quite nicely. I dont think the Brewers are that far off. And if the Orioles are only offering one of those two that makes the BRewes offer all the more attractive.
  4. My guess is this deal never happens.
  5. The Brewers should use Mench's terrible stint with Milwaukee to really low ball him into taking a smaller contract, something like one year, 3 million, and then trade Jenks and platoon Mench with Gross in LF. Just an idea.
  6. I do agree with cancer as well. (never though I'd say that...bad nickname by the way, I'd consider a name change if you intend to stick around...but good to have you none the less).
  7. I propose Jenkins and Koskie for Beltre and Reed, with the Mariners picking up a little bit of Beltre's salary.
  8. This is my new favorite rumor. If it is true I'd jump on it, sign Jeff Suppan, trade DFA Mench, send Hardy to AAA, Hall at SS, Jenkins in LF.
  9. That is the best part of this trade. The D-Rays had to deal with his injury history and we get a healthy Baldelli going forward. Assuming we can find a home for Jenkins/Mench/Clark I would be all for making this trade....and I wouldnt even think twice about it - Ninja Style!
  10. I enjoyed the P50 as well, but it was the unfulfileld promise of free beer and nachos that brought me to the site. I am proposing that Toby, Brian, Patrick, Jim, or whoever else get together and find 15-20 "regular" posters to compile the power 50 together in a sort of AP voting style. You could probably get by with choosing 40 minor league players per person, with a 1st place vote netting someone 40 points, 2nd place vote 39, etc etc. One person "chairs" the list and provides comments, adds up the totals and sends them along to Brian. It could lead to more discussion and if we can avoid a playoff at all costs, lots of "watercooler debates"
  11. It is a ranking of prospects. And for the Record, he is RyDogg's top 20. 1. Ryan Braun (Due to the fact that he isn't a pitcher) 2. Yovanni Gallardo (Bigger upside than Braun and just as close, but he IS a pitcher) 3. Angel Salome 4. Will Inman 5. Charlie Fermaint 6. Cole Gillespie 7. Zack Jackson 8. Tony Gwynn, Jr (wasn't completely overmatched in Milwaukee last year, like I thought he would be) 9. Mark Rogers 10. Jeremy Jeffress 11. Tim Dillard (I think he tops out as MR) 12. Manny Parra 13. Hernan Irribarren (just doesn't excite me much) 14. Yohannis Perez (forgive me if I spelled his name wrong) 15. Lorenzo Cain (Just dont know a whole lot about him) 16. Dennis Sarfate (what is he?) 17. Brent Brewer (please dont go all Josh Murray on us) 18. Mat Gamel 19. Vinny Rotino 20. Steve Hammond
  12. I think BF.net's draft coverage needs to be expanded. As far as I can tell Patrick Ebert (colbyjack) provides some of the best and most in depth FREE draft previews on the web. Many fans from other teams come to BF.net exclusively for the draft coverage.
  13. If we didnt want anything to do with Tomo Ohka I cannot imagine taking a flyer on Mulder. Last I heard Arizona was interested, but that was before the Davis trade.
  14. I too think dealing Hall for Hudson would be a bad idea. Hudson hasn't dominated in alomst 2 1/2 years and when he did he had trouble with his oblique. If he remained the player he was when he signed with Atlanta he'd be a good deal but with who he is now he is slightly overpaid. He is close to being the pitching equivalent to Geoff Jenkins. His ERA was close to or over 5.00 for most of last season.
  15. Ha. The Fools at the Think Factory clearly do not know that Capuano is the Ace of the staff. Someone tell them what is up.
  16. Ok. then Ben Hendrickson it is. You do know that your darling Chris Capuano missed the end of 2004 with an injury and all of 2003 with Tommy John surgery right? He's an elbow twitch away from being in your doghouse.
  17. It was a combination of the Sheets comparison and the fact that you ignored that I said get him for next to nothing (essentially what Brady Clark is making). I'd much rather take Pavano at what Brady Clark is making this year and roll the dice that he can give us 30 starts at the back end of the rotation than have Clark making outs on the basepaths when he is used as a pinch runner and 5th OF. I dont propose taking on Pavano's salary, just trading for him without adding salary and not counting on him to be a savior. Any benefit he would provide would be great. Also, if he is already damaged goods, ie not healthy, then forget it.
  18. Because it's November 30, people have nothing better to talk about and love making trades just for the sake of making trades? That is the only logical explanation I can think of. Wells might not even be as good as Hall in 2007...and he surely will not be a Brewer in 2008 or 2009 - but apparantly that isn't important.
  19. Miguel Cabrera is the only guy Id trade Hall for that is realistically obtainable.
  20. I can see it now.... Zack Jackson (Capuano) Mike Rivera (Moeller) Jeff Cirillo (Spivey) Kevin Mench (Overbay) Mark Rogers (De La Rosa), and JJ Hardy (Counsell) for Richie Sexson!!!
  21. He'd be the back up option, or at least he would allow Vargas or Villenueva to be the back up option. The way I see it is if we can acquire him for someone like Brady Clark without adding payroll (i.e. we pay what ever Clark would make) I don't see how it hurts us.
  22. Wow Clancy, I couldnt disagree with you more. Inman has a much, much better chance of making the majors than half the players on your Power20.
  23. Clancy - you either forgot Will Inman or don't think very highly of him. Ditto our new Cuban Defector, Yohannis Perez.
  24. Davis and Capuano arent exactly flame throwers either. If we can get him for pennies on the dollar and he is healthy enough to pass a physical I think it'd be a decent move.
