  1. Apparantly nobody sent the memo to our pitchers that Pujols is on the DL. Their offense isnt good with out him...yet, it is. I dont know, maybe I just really underrate stars like Yadier Molina, Juan Encarnacion, So Taguchi, Hector Luna, Gary Bennett, John Rodriguez, Chris Duncan, Aaron Miles, Scott Spezio, and Timo Perez. Honestly, they have like 3 guys out there I wouldnt mind having on my team. Rolen, Eckstein (it pains me to say that) and Edmonds (and even he is Jenkins-esque these days).
  2. How is Jim Edmonds a platoon OF these days and Not Jenkins? I was at the game tonight. It was awful. Stinky Winky was horrible. The defense wasnt that great (no errors, but mental mistakes). At least all the Cards fans around me were nice guys.
  3. Jenkins 2005 April-June: .245/.324/.400 Jenkins 2006 April-Pres: .253/.316/.406 I guess that means he'll be tearing up come July again.
  4. Nothing brightens a work day more than the words "In play, run scoring play" appearing on my monitor.
  5. David, that was instant signature material. Bravo.
  6. Good to see the poor Red Sox get 4 picks in the top 40. They are really hurting for talent.
  7. What is this kid's control like? There is nothing I hate more than guys who can bring it that have no control like JDLR and Sarfate.
  8. A high school pitcher? That's cool. I can't wait until he is sporting 5+ ERAs in Helana and West Virginia.
  9. Washington is 4th in the NL East with a record of 22-32 and are coming off a victory, The Brewers, as we all know, started their June Swoon and are currently also in 4th, but in the NL Central, with a record of 26-28. This is a pivotal game, series, and homestand for the Brewers. They have played terrific at home this year and they are set for their longest homestand of the season. A 6-4 homestand would put them back at .500 and they need to take at least 2-3 from Washington as things get progressively harder with San Diego and the St. Louis finishing the homestand. Here is to my first in-game thread of the year helping to turn things around.
  10. It was just 4 games on the road. Yeah it stinks but we get the Nationals at home this weekend. We'll make some hay on this homestand...I hope. At least Bush pitched well enough to win.
  11. So for the past two years Sheets secondary numbers tell you that he really isnt really good? What secondary numbers are those. please post them. Maybe it was the sub 1.00 whip, or the 250+ strikeouts, maybe it was something else, I dont know please show them to me.
  12. So am I to assume Castillo did walk it off? Boo.
  13. Well then I blame it all on sportsline.com and the fact that their gameday is showing Bush still pitching.
  14. Since Ned failed to pull Bushy Boy after 7 and he proceeded to give up a double and is now facing the go ahead run, Bush can in fact lose.
  15. Is Rick Helling still hurt? What is his timetable like? It'd be nice to get him back, even if he is just a 5th starter at this point.
  16. Okay, so they bring in a righty PH to face Shouse ... isn't this when Yost is supposed to come back out and bring Wise in? You cant. Unless of injury a pitcher must face one batter.
  17. Wow, and I though Yost mis-managed his bench on occasion...Manuel has burnt through his entire bench in one inning. DO they have anyone else on the bench/
  18. Aw cripes, here comes BrianS house. I thought he was our new closer, why waste him in the 8th?
  19. I just preheated my oven to 450 degrees and I shredded a block of cheese to sprinkle over them. It'll be like a Word-eating cheese sandwhich...
  20. Chances Yost pinch hits for Moeller? ZERO! So let's see, pull your closer with 2 outs and and a two run lead....don't pull you backup catcher in the 7th with a runner on and down 3...Hmmmm Make me eat my words Moeller! EDIT - OK - you made me eat my words. I like my crow barbequed please.
  21. I dont want to get sampled-sized, but it seems pretty clear that dominating AAA means ZERO when you come the big leagues. Eveland and Hendrickson are basically younger versions of Gary Glover and Wes Obermueller. They pretty much just stink. We had high hopes for them in the minors because they dominated, but they clearly dont have the stuff to get big league hitters out.
