  1. If they had called him safe, it probably would have been safe.
  2. Aim any higher, too, and you're out of our price range (Ohtani, Bellinger, Champman, etc.)
  3. Yelich and Canha are good hitters, too. But I agree in not understanding the Donaldson hate.
  4. Except he had already been sucking for a bit in AZ so they weren’t immediately going to insert him ahead of any of Devin, Payamps, Uribe, Peguero, Milner, etc. He’s right imo. Chafin was acquired primarily to be the 2nd LH in the pen/replacement for Justin Wilson, with high leverage a possibility depending on how he performed in lower leverage spots.
  5. I think tomorrow will be more indicative with Yelich as we’re going up against a LHP. We then face another LHP on Wednesday if they wanted to play it really safe. So, if Yelich isn’t in the lineup by Thursday, the I would say it’s time to IL him.
  6. Black and Gasser are probably ready. We’ll see.
  7. We miss Jorge Soler, who has been arguably the Marlins’ best hitter this year, but we still need to be very careful with Jake Burger, especially with runners on. He’s a guy who can win a close game with his power. Otherwise limit Arraez and we should be in good shape.
  8. Donaldson has always been a low BABIP guy, but that .076 BABIP he has this year is ridiculous and due for some major regression combined with his QOC #s.
  9. He was good in 2021 when he put up a 126 wRC+.
  10. I couldn’t care less about BA. Especially in 16 ABs. If Donaldson has a .900 OPS from here to the end of the season (not that I necessarily think he will), I feel comfortable saying we’ll win the division.
  11. There's Wiemer's competition for the postseason roster.
  12. A .900 OPS is "little to nothing"?
  13. Like who? With the production we've gotten at 1B since Fielder, we should be ecstatic with a pickup like Hoskins.
  14. https://www.tankathon.com/mlb/remaining_schedule_strength This is what I use. Brewers at 23 and Cubs at 22 so a negligible difference regardless.
  15. Phillies lose to the Braves, helping the Brewers' prospects of hosting the Wild Card series.
  16. Possible lineup w/ Donaldson? Assuming no Yelich still against the LHP. Canha DH Contreras C Santana 1B Adames SS Monasterio 2B Donaldson 3B Frelick RF Wiemer CF Taylor LF Not bad.
  17. LHP tonight. He'll be in the lineup.
  18. Anderson can play the OF? Only reason I can think of. Unless they're planning on adding Tyler Black sometime soon.
  19. That was the worst series ever. No excuse why we shouldn't have won at least 3/4 and made the postseason in the process. Peralta blew Game 1 coming out of relief, Williams blew game 3, and then we struck out multiple times in extras in game 4 with the winning run in scoring position.
