  1. If he wants to, I think you let him go 9.
  2. Unfortunate aspect of being ace. You typically get matched against the other team's best pitchers and consequently receive relatively little run support. Yesterday happened to be matched against the best pitcher in baseball this year.
  3. Wiemer can be sent down. Taylor is your right-handed OF option.
  4. For those who assume the Brewers will just get shut out by good pitchers once the postseason starts, it's worth noting that Luzardo is one of said pitchers....
  5. There's a reason why a guy like Julio Rodriguez is a more valuable player than Arraez despite hitting more than 50 points lower. It is a pretty poor stat.
  6. I don't think I've been more frustrated by a single player in recent memory than Joey Wiemer.
  7. If they had called him safe, it probably would have been safe.
  8. Aim any higher, too, and you're out of our price range (Ohtani, Bellinger, Champman, etc.)
  9. Yelich and Canha are good hitters, too. But I agree in not understanding the Donaldson hate.
  10. Except he had already been sucking for a bit in AZ so they weren’t immediately going to insert him ahead of any of Devin, Payamps, Uribe, Peguero, Milner, etc. He’s right imo. Chafin was acquired primarily to be the 2nd LH in the pen/replacement for Justin Wilson, with high leverage a possibility depending on how he performed in lower leverage spots.
  11. I think tomorrow will be more indicative with Yelich as we’re going up against a LHP. We then face another LHP on Wednesday if they wanted to play it really safe. So, if Yelich isn’t in the lineup by Thursday, the I would say it’s time to IL him.
  12. Black and Gasser are probably ready. We’ll see.
  13. We miss Jorge Soler, who has been arguably the Marlins’ best hitter this year, but we still need to be very careful with Jake Burger, especially with runners on. He’s a guy who can win a close game with his power. Otherwise limit Arraez and we should be in good shape.
  14. Donaldson has always been a low BABIP guy, but that .076 BABIP he has this year is ridiculous and due for some major regression combined with his QOC #s.
  15. He was good in 2021 when he put up a 126 wRC+.
  16. I couldn’t care less about BA. Especially in 16 ABs. If Donaldson has a .900 OPS from here to the end of the season (not that I necessarily think he will), I feel comfortable saying we’ll win the division.
  17. There's Wiemer's competition for the postseason roster.
