  1. Can take one “marquee” free agent signing off the board this off-season. Though, he was doing a pretty good job of it with his pitching this year. Likely to be joining Bauer in Japan very soon. https://x.com/jeffpassan/status/1698747733987803274?s=46&t=6qHppUIKVZAHrSmvysdA1A
  2. Eh. Pirates have been playing pretty good baseball lately. Mitch Keller going on Wednesday. I'd be fine with 2/3 regardless. It's tough for me to expect a sweep for any series.
  3. Yeah. We'll see. But there's zero excuse. If this team fails to win the division, which they are about an 80-85% bet to do right now, it will be entirely of their own making.
  4. Or at the absolute minimum have the magic number down to one or two. There's zero excuse with the schedule we have coming up.
  5. Oh well, you got 2/3, which you needed coming off the Cubs series. Nothing but mediocre to bottom feeder teams coming up the rest of the month heading into final series of the season. Division is the Brewers' for the taking.
  6. Yelich swinging at balls there...
  7. Let's see what version of Kimbrel we get today.
  8. No. I'm not saying that. I'm saying that using an outlier performance like last Sunday as an argument against him starting the inning, which you did in your original comment, is not the strongest case. Uribe ideally should start innings but I also wouldn't be opposed to him coming in with baserunners on depending on the situation. Once Bohm hit the HR, CC should've gone to Uribe imo.
  9. Yelich or Tellez can pinch hit for Miller to start next inning with Anderson available on the bench. Kimbrel blew a save in his last outing.
  10. We can't say what would've happened if he had started the inning. But when he's throwing strikes as he did today apart from the Schwarber at-bat he generally doesn't get hit or give up runs. Last Sunday shouldn't be used as evidence against him starting the inning like you want to do because it's a clear outlier in an otherwise great record to this point.
  11. Turner and Castellanos the previous inning should've been the clear and obvious warning sign for CC...
  12. Chafin about to put us out of our misery here.
  13. Another missed chance. Story of the day.
  14. That one doesn't get out? Sigh...
  15. Today? He didn't even give up an earned run. Should've been out of the inning with a DP. You're picking outliers in an otherwise great record so far. It's a risk just as it is that any pitcher, even Devin Williams, won't have it that day.
  16. Time to take advantage of the leadoff walk.
  17. Go figure. Miller draws a walk after walking a grand total of two times during his AAA stint.
  18. The ERA under two says otherwise.
  19. Pinch hit for Turang with the lefty here.
  20. Yeah. That doesn't make logical sense.
  21. Turner's a good hitter who's red hot. Turang's mistake costly.
  22. Turang's miscue could be costly here.
  23. Why hitting Turang against the LHP and letting Wiemer hit against the RHP are questionable moves to say the least.
