  1. On the season as a whole, maybe not. But he was recently given the opportunity to start 12 games in 14 days and he did nothing with that opportunity, while McCutchen has at least provided some power. And it's interesting you make that accusation when I've been pretty vocal about how Stearns and co. erred by calling up Mitchell over Frelick. So, like with your failure to even look at this month's stats re. Hiura and McCutchen, you're being ignorant of reality.
  2. Have you even bothered to compare their stats in September? My guess is not, because McCutchen has at least been competent, while Hiura has not. And that's with Hiura playing everyday up until this past week.
  3. Yeah. Nobody will want Stearns now that he traded a reliever making $15 million+ and an ERA over 6 for two very nice-looking prospects....And FWIW, if you're going to say the Brewers offense was competent last year, you'll have to give him credit for this year, too, because it's actually scoring more runs/game and virtually identical in the other major categories.
  4. Could have won this game...Should have won this game...
  5. You'd rather have an Alexander start? 7 innings, 3 runs....Alexander has done better than that a grand total of 0 times! I don't get where you're going here...
  6. Alexander has an ERA of almost 6 and has gone 6 innings just once (in his first start). So, you're wrong.
  7. He's got a quality start going right now. Unless you think he's gonna go 8 and strike out 14 every game....Burnes showed up, the bats have not to this point by leaving so many guys on base.
  8. Nice win. Get another one tomorrow with your ace on the mound. Go Mariners.
  9. Agreed. But some people were mad that Hiura wasn't in the lineup today and that McCutchen was....
  10. I may come to regret saying this, but I don't see the Cardinals as on the Dodgers/Mets/Braves level as they lack the dominant starting pitchers you need in the post-season.
  11. I guess you're not looking at the facts because what you're saying is patently not true. He literally just started 12 of 14 games from (8/28-9/9), with one of those "no-starts" being one end of a doubleheader....
  12. At some point a guy has gotta get past it and produce regardless. These guys aren't children, they're professionals. Hiura's play this month in regular at-bats doesn't justify him being an automatic insertion into the lineup against LHPs. If we were facing a RHP, I might agree, but we're facing Montgomery who is tough from the left side.
  13. Notice I said slumping this month despite "regular playing time". If you look at his at-bats for this month, you'll see that his # of at-bats is far from spotty. Some people around here treat him like Ted Williams.
  14. He's been slumping this month after playing pretty regularly and we're facing a LHP tonight. I don't see the problem....
  15. Joe Musgrove just signed an extension with the Padres despite the fact he was set to hit free agency after the season. So, not impossible, but the question is are the Brewers willing to pony up enough to make Corbin even consider forgoing free agency. If he's willing to do a shorter deal than Yelich but with a high AAV, I could see the Brewers getting involved. Any long-term commitment like Yelich, though, and that's almost suicide for this organization.
  16. Maybe they see him on a Juan Soto trajectory? Would mean he's up to the big leagues by next season...(and hitting bombs in the World Series by the next season haha)
  17. He'd be better off as the full-time DH to off-set some of that negative defensive value imo. I still think there's some upside with his bat as he hit for a higher average last year and hits the ball as consistently hard as anyone.
  18. Brewers about to be only 2 games back of Padres...
  19. Bad defense by Peterson, who has otherwise been stellar this year. Thankfully, Williams was able to get out of it with a little help from Mitchell. Needed series win.
  20. Brandon Woodruff, All-time Brewers' pitcher...
