  1. Cubs aren't just going to roll over. We're going to have to earn this.
  2. Devin really deserves to be an all-star. I'm thinking it'll have to be as a replacement, though. Maybe if Corbin pitches the Sunday before the all-star break, they'll give him his spot.
  3. Okay. Yelich has a higher batting average against LHP this year....All we need is a hit.
  4. I'm talking about McCutchen and Brosseau specifically. Here's Brosseau, for instance.
  5. Against lefties, they are great hitters, despite what you may think. Steele's pitched a good game. We've missed a few chances.
  6. Do you even know Brosseau's stats against lefties?? He's been Paul Goldschmidt against lefties this year. And McCutchen has been probably our hottest hitter lately.
  7. Steele pretty much did this exact same thing to the Cardinals and Padres in June. He's a nice little up and coming pitcher for the Cubs.
  8. Nice bounce back start by Lauer. We'll need more of that moving forward, particularly until Freddy comes back.
  9. There goes the no hitter, now let's get some runs.
  10. Though, at 89 pitches and the top of the Cubs order due up, I'd be pretty content to remove him if I was Counsell.
  11. More fastballs up in the zone. Less hanging sliders.
  12. Good fastball from Lauer in that inning. Looked much more like it did in April and May. Hopefully it carries over for the rest of his start.
  13. Would've preferred Hiura at 1B, Caratini at C, and Severino at DH.
  14. Caratini did good on that rundown. I still don't understand why he had to play 1B and not Hiura.
  15. I meant they're more competitive due to the presence of those young players. Case in point, they took 5/6 from the Dodgers. And 8-2 against any team is still really good.
  16. Obviously, we're all kind of disappointed by the split in Pittsburgh. However, it's still a 4-2 week. Furthermore, these Pirates aren't as bad as they've been the last couple years. Reynolds, Hayes, Cruz, and Bednar are all really good players.
