  1. Sounds like it's time to bring him up to the big league club. How would you compare his defense to Cain and Taylor @Julio Muchacho?
  2. Jonathan Davis is sitting down there in AAA hitting over .300 and with an .830 OPS. Time to bring him up and get rid of old man Cain.
  3. I said it last night, but I'll say it again. There needs to be some accountability on this team starting right now. Specifically for guys like Cain, Suter, etc. I get they may be good "clubhouse guys" but they're just plain terrible. Everyone seems a little bit too complacent imho. So, if we're going to turn this thing around, something must be done, preferably before this weekend where we have a real shot against the Nationals.
  4. Doesn't help that the ump missed a blatant strike three on Hoskins. That pitch was in the strike zone the whole way. Just get the dang robots already.
  5. Craig Counsell has created a great clubhouse atmosphere. But there needs to be some accountability on this team. DFA'ing Cain would send a much-needed message.
  6. Minors are not as weak as they have been. 4 top 100 prospects, with the potential to have the number one prospect in baseball in short order. And 3 of those 4 are at AA or higher.
  7. Cain's OPS is now .440. DFA him now! Bring up Jonathan Davis to back up Taylor.
  8. I meant 3.30 ERA over the last two years exclusively as a starter. As I said, that's as good as it gets for a #5 starter. Unless you think our rotation should/can be comprised of nothing but Aces....
  9. This. Nobody's happy with how things are going. But there's no need to humiliate the guy.
  10. Oh really? Cause I see a 3.30 ERA, which is as good as it gets from a #5 starter in this league. There are bigger hills to die on with this team than this.
  11. You see his stats as a starter the last year and a half? One inning doesn't change that.
  12. Houser bringing the heat tonight. I'm sure he'd make a great reliever, but he's doing just fine as a starter.
  13. No, it doesn't matter. But the argument was made that the Cardinals pitching is equally good as the Brewers. It isn't. The reason why they are able to prevent runs at a similar rate because of their defense, not their pitching. That'll be my "last word" on the subject as this is the offense thread.
  14. Yeah, the people who are complaining about how expensive tickets are these days just aren't looking hard enough. They are definitely there, whether through team-offered promotions (e.g., 50% off Fridays) or on third party sites. I agree that the current Am Fam operation is becoming outdated. It was great when it first opened up in the early 2000s, but adjustments, such as a new entertainment district and/or reducing seating capacity to create more social spaces, need to be made to enhance revenue growth and keep up with the times.
  15. Yelich batting leadoff tonight. You just love to see it. Could be the key to unlocking the offense, especially now that Adames is back. Now, the main thing is we need a solid start from Houser, who, while great overall on the season, has been prone to "blow-up" starts from time to time. As someone pointed out to me last night (forget who it was), we have managed to hit Nola pretty hard over his career.
  16. Nope, not even from a results perspective, unless you're going to try the runs per game argument which doesn't measure pitching but is rather a combination of pitching and defense. By every important metric that actually measures pitching quality (WAR, FIP, xFIP, K/9), the Brewers have the second best pitching staff in baseball behind the Yankees, while the Cardinals' pitching staff is mirred in the mid 20's.
  17. I was having fun until the end of the doubleheader last week. But the last few days have been excruciatingly painful. Thank god we got out to the fastest start in franchise history.
  18. Tomorrow is going to be tough, too, with Aaron Nola on the mound. Hopefully, Houser doesn't have one of his blowup starts.
  19. Pablo Reyes is just not going to cut it. He needs to go back to the minors or the bench where he belongs.
  20. Tough loss. There will be better days. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day. At least the Cardinals lost in equally painful fashion.
