  1. Or taken a look at batted-ball metrics....
  2. Agreed on the "trash cans" wording. It's just not helpful. Who, of our AAA relievers, do you think can most help stabilize the back-end of our bullpen right now? Figured you would be the man to ask considering that you've actually seen all these guys....
  3. Yeah. I would like to see Sanchez up. He was awesome for a stretch there last year. Ashby going to the pen full-time would also really help. Small can then make those spot starts.
  4. I'll take Yelich becoming an elite hitter again over a series win against the Reds any day. Marlins coming up and the best pitcher in baseball is set to start us off. Leggooo
  5. Okay. But they still lost two out of three. Even the Dodgers bullpen should be more than enough against the Pirates, particularly when the Pirates had a bullpen game of their own. Even the best of teams will lose series to bad teams. It's part of playing a 162 game season. Of course, that doesn't mean we shouldn't be concerned about the terrible starts from Woodruff and Houser. But I'm not going to fret too much over it, especially when past results have proven otherwise.
  6. Hader, Boxberger, and Gott inspire a lot confidence. Suter has been a solid reliever the last three years. Williams has been a top 5 reliever in baseball the last two years. Do they need to find some more reliable relievers in the back-end of the bullpen? Yes. But that can be done a heck of a lot easier than things like finding aces in the rotation or an all star-caliber shortstop, which we thankfully already have. You say that we shouldn't have taken too much from beating up on the Pirates and Reds. Well, by that same token, why should we make grand conclusions about this team from one bad series against the Reds? Even good teams have bad series against bad teams. Look at the Dodgers, who just lost 2/3 to the Pirates...Last year's 95 win season and this year's fast start to the season tell me most of what I need to know about this team.
  7. Case in point, the Dodgers are on the verge of losing a series to the Pirates...
  8. Let's not put Peterson in the outfield anymore....
  9. Houser's family must've put in a call to the official scorer...
  10. How about a redux of our 15-7 victory over the Cubs last year?
  11. Ethan Small is waiting in the wings....No starter on this team should feel safe. Okay, maybe Corbin Burnes should feel pretty good.
  12. Brewers putting on a clinic on how to lose to teams like the Reds. Walk everyone, commit errors, get thrown out stealing third...
  13. Just throw strikes Houser!! Your sinker will generate groundballs....
  14. Frustrates me when guys who are so obviously terrible like Friedl are able to take control of the game...
