  1. What's going to be really frustrating is that I think it will be at least a month or two before Counsell realizes this and actually takes the correct action, which is to bench him in favor of Taylor.
  2. Okay Cain. You've earned your contract. But time to ride the pine.
  3. True. But I still think it's a stupid, archaic rule that should really be eliminated. Shouldn't be rewarding the batter for striking out.
  4. You're actually very wrong, Bill. Most of these Braves faced Ashby in Game 4 of the NLDS last year....
  5. Yelich continues to sting the ball. 100.4 mph off the bat...
  6. Doesn't surprise me considering all of the memorable moments we've had on the holiday. From Bill Hall's 2006 walk-off to Freddy's 13K debut in 2018...
  7. How about Ramon Laureano? He’s literally returning from his 80 game suspension today, but would be eligible for the postseason unlike Severino because it carried over from last year. Good hitter and fielder. Young with multiple years of control. A’s are already in complete tear down mode so you would think they’d be more amenable to parting with him as they did Olson and Chapman. Also would probably cost a little less in prospect capital than Mullins. Put me down.
  8. Changing topics and on the bright side, the Bucks won and the Giants are demolishing Cardinals pitching to the tune of 13 runs...
  9. This loss had a heck of a lot more to do with bad defense on our part and great defense by the Braves than with Counsell's decision to pitch Perdomo for the last two innings.
  10. Of course not. Show me a team that doesn't make any bad decisions, and I'll buy you a beer. The results over the last 4+ years sure as hell speak for themselves. Counsell made the right call with the hand he was dealt. It didn't work out, move on and win the next one.
  11. Oh well. Gave it a good effort at the end, though we also helped give the game away with our defense. Braves are going to be right there at the end, once again. I am still very happy with where this team is at right now.
  12. Yes it does. That's why I'm happy with my team and my manager that's been to the playoffs four years in a row and currently possesses the best record in the NL.
  13. "And as we saw in previous years"? Really? A team that has gone to the playoffs four years in a row, with their bullpen being one of the major catalysts in each of those runs? I don't think so.
  14. They had Williams up for if they'd tied or taken the lead. We already went through this with Hader in 2018-2019. You can't be using your lockdown relievers every single time the game is close otherwise they won't be available for when you really need them. Counsell played his cards right here, the Braves are just a good team.
  15. Can I just say that I'm glad the Braves moved from Milwaukee? Don't think I could bare having to do that stupid tomahawk...
  16. Boxberger and Gott are unavailable because they pitched the previous two days. If you use Williams and you lose anyways, then he's unavailable tomorrow when you have a small lead. Suter? Against Acuna? That's just asking for trouble.
  17. But who else did you want there against the Braves right-handed heavy lineup? I don't think Milner or Suter are the solution to getting guys like Swanson and Acuna out.
  18. You mean guys like Urena, who only made the team because he was out of options while Perdomo still had one? Perdomo is also not the same pitcher who posted those stats, which is why the Brewers were interested enough in him to sign him while he was still rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. Who did you want there? Suter? Against Acuna???
  19. I'd say he did okay there. To his credit, he was probably our best pitcher in spring training and had great numbers to start the year in AAA.
  20. Another great job by Burnes, with the rest of the team letting him down. Just one hung slider to Acuna. Silver lining is he'll get matched against a guy with an ERA over 6 next week, so he should hopefully get some more run support.
  21. Okay. Let's not get too down on an offense that currently leads the majors in runs. I get that the last few series have been against some lesser competition, but still....should be a tie game right now if not for that great play by Demeritte.
  22. All right Cain, you cannot do that! It's bad enough that you've shown absolutely nothing with the bad thus far.
  23. Alright, so let's not get shut out in two straight Burnes starts....
