  1. That could be the motto for this site.
  2. Who would have thought that Don Nelson had perhaps the greatest draft ever that night? Traded Traylor for Nowitzki and Pat Garrity, flipped Garrity for Steve Nash. I can remember the excitement in Milwaukee, everyone LOVED Traylor.
  3. Sorry about that - I'm usually a spelling and grammar stickler, too. Thanks for all the advice.
  4. My girlfriend and I are driving to Toronto for Memorial Day weekend and we've decided to go via Niagra Falls. We'll only be stopping there for an afternoon, not staying overnight. All I really want is to see some falls, take some pictures and move on. Any tips on the best ways / places to do this without getting into all the tourist traps?
  5. I agree on Cabernets. For me, that is the one varietal (maybe Pinot Noir too) that I can really tell a difference between a cheap bottle and an expensive one. I'll spend more for those wines, but if I'm drinking Syrah, Pinot Grigio, Souvignon Blanc, or Petite Sirah I stay on the cheap end. Chardonnay is the other exception, but with that I'm more selective about where it's from, rather than price point - California vs. French.
  6. Per MLBTR, Brewers acquire 1B/OF Jordan Brown from Cleveland for cash considerations. He's in his 4th(!) year at AAA. Career .305/.369/.471 MiLB (2523 plate appearances), .230/.272/.310 in 92 MLB plate appearances.
  7. I think he'll go to AAA so that he can continue to start. The only way I think he stays is if Yo gets lit up again tonight and goes on the DL with some sort of arm fatigue / back spasms / other generic injury.
  8. Some of the Haiku in-game threads were classic. But I agree, it would take a lot to top "Can Bill Hall Pitch?"
  9. I watched this all unfold on cable news, Facebook and Twitter. It was fascinating to see all three platforms. This isn't the first time I've heard big news through social media, but certainly the first event of this magnitude.
  10. If you're looking for fine dining for your anniversary, The Inn at Kristopher's is outstaning.
  11. Yuni walk-off coming in 10 minutes or so... (I'm just going to keep trying)
  12. I feel that is my role here. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. Technically, it was "That ain't Chuckie's game. Chuckie hacks on 2-0." I think Gross was before the days of "official" threads, otherwise he would have had "The Official Gabe Gross Just Needs Regular At-bats Thread."
  14. This early in the season, I think it goes off of last year's record. I also don't think there is a league distinction - it's purely 2010 record. Pretty sure Keith Law tweeted about this, specific to Wood.
  15. The pitcher can't throw to an unoccupied base without stepping off the rubber, but the catcher can throw anywhere.
  16. Jen Lada just tweeted that the team is making a big afternoon announcement "possibly Braun contract extension." No idea if this is just her speculation...
  17. Who wants 'em? I can email the tickets. Section 208 Row 13
  18. Interesting take on Axford from Jayson Stark, who was on the D-List earlier this year. He says that scouts have noticed that Axford completely changed his delivery in the offseason and is throwing from a different arm slot than he was last year. That would explaing the control issues. The question is, how long does it take him to figure out how to get control with the new slot or go back to the old slot.
  19. Not sure I agree with this. Weeks didn't rake from day 1, but he also battled injuries. When healthy, he's been pretty good. I think Wood is out of options, so AAA isn't really a choice. He'd have to stay on the major league roster, and I seriously doubt RR or DM would pick him up to start. If he's on the bench, his history doesn't indicate he'd be any better than what we already have.
  20. Watching close-up, high-def interviews with Braun & McGehee make me yearn for WMLW.
