  1. I still think Ben Hendrickson should be given a chance at the Brewers long man spot before we get rid of him. The pen will give him less time to think before he comes in.
  2. Yikes Oakland is red hot again even without Harden. 10 in a row now.
  3. A couple of thoughts: First, Salome catching a wild Mark Rogers could be ugly. Second I would prefer Salome never sees Brevard. With Washington likely taking back over Brevard County after this season I am not in a rush to send any young hitters there. It seems to have had a reverse High Desert effect on Palmisano but congrats to Salome if true and best of luck to him in High A.
  4. He is probably worthy of the top five, but we have to give some other guys a chance. Weak!
  5. 7 IP 2H 0R 2BB 9K 1.69 ERA on the season. On the bright side, it can only help what little trade value he has at this point. Hopefully, a change of scenery will do Ben well and notch the Brewers a good reliever (I can dream). Ben did good in his incredibly short stint as a long man. I would not mind seeing him get another oportunity at that role, if he struggles there, who cares the game is probably already over.
  6. this team is getting really hard to derive any enjoyment from. If Brevard wins the first half you would have to think help would be on the way in the form of Braun and Gallardo and maybe Fermaint, Hurricane Corky, Wahpehpah and Hammond.
  7. If you're a Mark Rogers fan, you probably don't want to look at the Brevard County box score tonight.... All I see is 3.1 IP 4 Ks. And that is impressive. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif
  8. AJ runs over Barrett and Barett throws a punch. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a186/sheetsforcyyoung/Barrett.jpg

  13. So what's up with Sarfate? He seemed to find his command for a while, but now he is walking batters at an alarming rate. No offense to Dennis, but this is very discouraging. I doubt his future with this organization is as a starter. He is probably fourth on the AAA depth chart right now. If he cannot throw strikes, I cannot imagine he last in the pen. He is out of options after this season. His future with the Brewers is probably cloudy at best.
  14. Did he honestly think Miller was the best option there? I'd rather have, Hall, Hart, Cirillo or Gross before Miller He has got to save his hitters for extra innings http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. 3.1 innings pitched 5 walks...... I thought Rogers had his "light" come onhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/grin.gif
  16. That said, I don't think this is that bad. Worst case to me seems like he would miss the first couple of starts. With 24 days remaining, I could see Sheets starting in Nashville. He doesnt even need to be put on the dl, I would think, seeing as he has options remaining which will probably go unused otherwise.

  18. There was a nice article in today's Waukesha Freeman about Kettle Moraine pitcher Scott Matyas. Apparantly he is recovering from Tommy John surgery and hopes to be ready for the season. Pro scouts and colleges are taking a wait and see approach. The article isnt online yet that I could find on the Freeman's gmtoday.com website.
  19. Thanks Colby for the analysis, it is appreciated.
  20. Could Scott Maytas be a position prospect as well? I think he has some history as a catcher if I am not mistaken and last year played shortstop. The one time I watched him play he hit a home run. He also is always in hitting well in the box score. I know he was all state as a pitcher as a sophmore, but could he be one of those two way prospects?
  21. Twice, huh, twicehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif
  22. I suppose we dont have any updates on Ryan Babineau? Any news? Is he all but certain to be at UCLA?
  23. Thanks Colby, it would be nice to have an extra pick for once. Did the Brewers never offer Jose Hernandez free agent arby, because I always found it odd that that the Brewers did not get any compansation for their all-star shortstop? Seeing as I think Helms has made no secret about wanting a bigger role maybe there is a chance that he would not accept a Brewer offer. Or maybe out of goodness he would turn one down, because we have given him alot of money the last two years.
  24. I hope you dont mind Colby, I used your post to explain FA compensation to the ESPN board. That truely is an outstanding explanation. edit: What are the chances we could get a type C compensation for Wes Helms?
