  1. Arizona doesn't even need Quero. They've got their catcher of the future (or at least a top 100 guy in need of a look) in Del Castillo.
  2. I'm not at all in favor of giving up a top 20 prospect for two months of Suarez.
  3. I just don't see many (any?) places where the Brewers need to upgrade. Short is the closest, but I don't want to dig into the farm system for a moderate upgrade, especially for a rental.
  4. Bowden: Lopez would be interesting.
  5. I get it. I know what the stats say and I understand the Brewers are in a division race. But I feel like I can still be allowed to mourn the era of a guy going for a complete game. Some of my favorite memories are guys putting the team on their back and going nine.
  6. It's hard to argue with the process when it's been so good, but I do find myself getting more Old Man Yelling At Clouds when a pitcher is throwing a shutout through six, ten strikeouts, and the bullpen is getting warm.
  7. I think you guys are way, way low. There's no reason for him to accept anything less than a record breaking extension. Crochet had 60 IP in the majors before needing Tommy John at 23 that effectively wiped out two seasons. He came back, looked dominant again for one season, then signed a six year, $160 million extension. He had four seasons of service time and just over 200 IP total. If you're Miz and you know you can miss two entire seasons, come back and look dominant and some team will give you that much money, aren't you playing serious hardball?
  8. It's just wild to me that someone would think Woodruff owes an organization when he plays in a sport that artificially keeps player salaries down for almost a decade.
  9. Did the Brewers owe him when he made the All Star team in 2019 but his salary was 561k? And in 2021 when he again made the ASG and was 5th in Cy Young voting but he only made $3.2 million?
  10. I said last week the only reason to do this would be if he was okay being paid like a really good reliever, and I had Ashby's contract in mind. Five years, $20.5 million, buying out two FA years that would bump the total up to $41.5. That's obviously low and I wouldn't expect Mis to for it, but that would have been the starting point. The only reason for the Brewers to offer a deal is if it buys out at least two FA years.
  11. I'd trade anyone for the right package. But the cost would be extremely high for any of the young kids typically seen in the lists. I'm not trading a decade of Pena or Made for three years of Acuna.
  12. Yea, this whips ass. Of course there are more deserving players, but MLB has a viewership problem and Miz is the closest thing the sport has to a phenom at the moment. People are gonna tune in to see him throw. Enjoy it.
  13. Anyone on the staff with only this year remaining can go if they get a solid return. I'd take lottery tickets for Quintana. Doubt there's a market for Cortez. Woody is probably worth more to the Brewers than he would be to another team. Quintana has to go. His profile is that of a ticking time bomb.
  14. If Misi wants to sign an extension that pays him like a solid reliever, go ahead and sign him. Not a chance in hell I'd be signing him to contract that pays him like a starter. That's stupid.
  15. I'm fine with a Freddy trade, but it's Quintana that needs to go.
  16. The BA top 100. 4. Jesus Made 5. Jacob Misiorowski 20. Luis Pena 33. Cooper Pratt 45. Jeferson Quero 93. Logan Henderson
  17. I love what he's done in June, but it's just one month. Despite the great OPS he still only hit .237 in May. I don't have any problem letting him continue to eat in AA for a while longer. Bump him in August if he's still hitting.
  18. The former team president, who's said it repeatedly over the last couple years.
  19. That's awesome. Gonna be nice to have a game to look forward to tonight when the Brewers are postponed.
