Steve, I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more COWBELL!! One year ago after 75 games the Brewers stood at 41-34. That turned out to be the high-water mark for the season. I still remember how good I felt about the team, coming off a 5-game road winning streak and going to Pittsburgh. Obviously nobody foresaw the 26-60 finish and, frankly, it's still a little hard to believe that they were that bad over the last 86 games of the season. The torrid stretch of losing began with a 4 game sweep by the Pirates, with the Brewers losing to Oliver Perez 8-1 in the opener. See the link here: sports.espn.go.com/mlb/re...=240702223 The game featured a 14 K performance by Brewer hitters, 7 strong innings from Perez, and a career day for the non-descript Tony Alvarez (1 2B, 1 HR, 4 RBIs). For the Brewers, Overbay went 2-4 with an RBI (his 59th of the season), plating Junior Spivey with his 32nd double of the year.
